Natsume Yuujinchou San
I have fallen so behind with anime watching that I haven't been watching anything lately. I've tried to keep up with Natsume, but I fell behind with that too! I played catch up this week though, and now I'm just two episodes behind. The episodes quite relax me.

Matobe Matoba! Voiced by Suwabe Junichi, who voices Atobe from Prince of Tennis. Because of this, I keep typing Matoba's name as Matobe, haha... this is the Atobe syndrome. I read a little of the manga but didn't keep up with it. Nice to see this arc animated!

The World God Only Knows OVA
A one episode OVA came out for Kami Nomi! Was great seeing Keima in action again, though this episode was merely a bridge to something more. It sure hints at a lot of things though.

New games announced!
So recently, I've heard that Fire Emblem is coming out with a new game on the 3DS (now I really need to get a 3DS sometime, huh? Especially since it now seems very likely that the Professor Layton vs Gyakuten Saiban game is going to be released in English too. But 3D is lost on me since I like it best when I turn the 3D all the way down).

Just yesterday, there was also news that there'll be a new Suikoden game on the PSP. This made me very happy since I heard that the Suikoden team had been disbanded. While this isn't a continuation of the main storyline, I'm just happy that the series is continuing. I enjoyed Tierkreis. Hopefully I'll enjoy the new game too.
Movies
I looked forward to watching this movie since I went to watch Captain America. I didn't think I'd like superhero movies this much? The movie didn't interest me before, but now it's caught my interest. ;) Anyway, I finally got around to watching Iron Man and quite enjoyed it. Looking forward to watching Iron Man 2, hopefully over the weekend!

Anime
Am also looking forward to catching up with some anime. I haven't been watching anything at all. Kind of just fell out of it. I've been trying to watch Natsume Yuujinchou San weekly, but I didn't manage to do that! When Kimi to Boku and Bakuman 2 start airing this fall though, I'm so following those as the episodes come out. Getting an anime really does make a series more popular, and gets the series more advertising too. Already, Kimi to Boku is getting more merchandise, it's been on the cover of G Fantasy quite a lot (which means I've been buying it every month...), has more color pages, etc! And I've been seeing more people talking about the series. I'm excited to see KtB get more popular because when I first got into the series, almost no one had heard about it before! It is lonely to like a series and have no one to talk about it with. [livejournal.com profile] kimitoboku_fan is also getting a bit more activity now~

(This is why I will be forever sad that 1/2 Prince and Legend of Sun Knight and Noblesse might never get an anime since they're not manga from Japan, though I do love that they're not from Japan. But if they did ever get an anime, the popularity boost!! I so wish these series would become more popular in English speaking circles.)

August was quite a Kaitou Kid month (that made me gleeful, the fact that he took over Conan episodes for 4 weeks) but I've only watched the first episode that aired (and took a whole slew of screencaps). I suddenly have this urge to watch Conan from the start, though that'd be a huge undertaking. XD; The new Prince of Tennis ovas must also be super squee-worthy, but I've yet to watch them. Watching them is very high priority for me though. ;)

Webtoons
Today I started reading a webtoon called Pinocchio about a ghost and a girl who can see him. I am in love with the art style. ♥ Also started reading The God of High School. I sense interesting fights up ahead. Sometimes I really wish I can read Korean too... I enjoy reading things in the original language. :3

Fanfiction in Chinese?
Does anyone know of any archive sites for fanfics in Chinese? I'm starving for Legend of Sun Knight fics especially, and I know that they have pretty big followings in Taiwan. I randomly surfed around in baidu and came upon a hilarious fic about rumors regarding Earth and Sun and how Earth was spreading rumors about Sun being gay, so Sun tells his platoon to make Earth appear gay, and somehow it all ends with people believing that Earth and Sun are gay together. Now I want to write some kind of rumor fic too! I think Storm would fit such a fic well...

I did search around Yu Wo's site and saw that quite a lot of people post their fanfics for her series there. It seems to me that many people post their fics in forums. I wonder if that's the practice most follow? Long, long time ago, I used to read Chinese Yu Yu Hakusho fics whenever I ran out of YYH fics from the English fandom to read, though I've forgotten the site I frequented back then. I wonder if it's even still around. It was a YYH specific site though. :3
(To [livejournal.com profile] colors_tcg members and mods, thank you for still sticking around even during LJ's outage. I've decided to take a break while LJ is being wonky (since I can't even make any comments or posts the majority of the time) and will be back to updating things when it's less difficult to do so. August release will still be happening. Hopefully by then LJ will have survived through this latest bout of DDos attacks).

I shouldn't even be trying, but let's see if this goes through. I typed up a long post (this I have saved) and then a shorter post on my tablet hoping that might work better (that I don't have saved), and neither posted. I just hope there doesn't end up being a million posts from me later if it so happens that those entries did post correctly! The short post was about whether or not I should consider haunting microblogging sites like tumblr.

While I love the blog format and am sad that we've taken to microblogging so much (and I am the type to stick to one thing to the bitter end), perhaps it's time to join the crowd. I go where the content is, and where there are friends to meet and keep in touch with. Lj still seems to be the go to place for fics though. Dreamwidth is still a fairly quiet in comparison, and I don't think people truly consider tumblr a place to post fic. Do people post fic on tumblr? I've been considering for a long time if I want to move my fic elsewhere, since this journal of mine has become quite messy with random fandom junk, but then I started this journal for it to be a fic journal (and look how that ended up). Probably if I started a fic journal, the same thing would happen again. I guess I'll wait until DW goes through with the option of importing by tags, as that will make separating my posts a lot easier. In any case, this will be my main haunt for quite some time yet unless everyone jumps ship.

First with my internet down, and then LJ down, I've been checking ffnet a lot more (goodness...), dreamwidth, and watching stuff.

Anyway, you can find me below, though very inactive for the first two. My tumblr is brand new, and I don't know what to do with it.

Tenipuri
Haven't been fangirling this series enough lately, but I bought Kanzenban season 2 volumes 1-3 today, as well as PairPuri 6, featuring Kirihara & Kaidou. So expensive. :'D I've been trying to translate some of PairPuri 6 over at [livejournal.com profile] fanbook, but I've only done a 2 pages so far. The whole fanbook is so much fun though! I especially enjoy the Kirihara & Krauser interaction, as well as how much Kirihara's sempai are emphasized.

Season 2 of the complete edition currently features Hyoutei on the covers!

kanzenban talk )

Super belated, but Tenipuri Festa 2011. So much love! Today I flipped through Animedia (May and June editions had a special seiyuu guide section, with a one page questionnaire per seiyuu) and was surprised at how many seiyuu I recognized by appearance. It was all mostly Tenipuri seiyuu that I recognized though. Kite's seiyuu wrote that he felt Kite's role was the turning point of his seiyuu career. Minagawa Junko wrote that it was Ryoma for her. :)

But yeah, Tenipuri Festa 2011. Finally got to hear Laser Beam performed by all of Rikkai! :D Was so waiting for that!

Junai Labyrinth
Picked up volume 4 today! I decided not to buy Seiyuu Ka- v5-6 and Gakuen Alice v24 in favor of buying some Tenipuri (will buy sometime later... I've already read what's in v5-6 for Seiyuu Ka anyway, and I haven't been reading the Gakuen Alice volumes I've been buying... maybe I'll wait until I catch up to actually buy it? =x). I still bought Junai Labyrinth since I have been following this shoujo. Reira~. Haruto~. Umi~. The characters feel very typical of this mangaka, but they always make me smile! I'm cheering for Reira, but this whole thing feels very Haruto x Umi... which is the whole point of the story I think. XD; Haruto and Umi are brother and sister, and Umi has a huge brother complex. Haruto has a pretty huge sister complex too. Reira... is kind of just there and gets on the nerves of both of them. XD;

Kimi to Boku
I've been buying GFantasy for the sake of the KtB extras, haha. June edition comes with a pencil board! Last month's was stickers, and before that was a poster. I haven't actually read these chapters yet (need to get out all my GFantasy and read them at once) but I flipped through June's... and goodness, Yuuki and Chizuru are fighting? Now I'm curious. There was also a 4-koma featuring the boys talking about the anime! :D

Kuragehime
Not related to stuff I bought today, but I finished watching Kuragehime~. (I picked up where I left off... and then couldn't stop, haha) Really loved Kuranosuke a lot. Appearance-wise, I seem to really like characters who tie their hair up in a little ponytail (think, Gokudera, who does it from time-to-time). Personality-wise, I loved his confidence and how much he cared about Tsukimi. I also adored Shuu, though I felt bad for Tsukimi when he didn't recognize her. :'D The anime was quite heart-warming a lot of the time, and I wish I had Chieko's skill with sewing. XD; Also loved the jellyfish metaphors.
*reads Noblesse 182 while writing this post* I am loving how many panels M-21 got, yesss. And all four of them are adorable and kickass at the same time.

I also got distracted by a drabblefest that is being held over at dreamwidth for the three_weeks_for_dw fest. Check it out, leave some prompts, and write some drabbles! :D

And now, more FMA~

episodes 31-40 )

I beat the Elite Four, yessss.

Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai
Finished watching this, finally. Watched the beginning as it was airing, and then I stopped. Finished watching the rest one episode per day while I used my treadmill (watching anime while treadmilling is awesome). I kept snickering while I was using the treadmill... was hard to restrain myself, hahaha. XD I'm not too fond of Kirino, but she is certainly the driving force of the series. Kyousuke is quite amazing. Manami is so cute. I haven't watched the extra episodes... I'm a bit scared to find out what those are about. :'D

This week:
-must translate! so much translating stuff piling up. At least translating helps me practice my Japanese and Chinese, so it's quite a worthwhile hobby, though time consuming...
-finish blogging about FMA:B :3
-write, oh man. *has not written any fic in all of April*. My break from writing is turning into quite a long break! Chapter 6 of He Never Knew is still in note format, and everything else for all my other fics is still just in my head. XD;;

When May rolls around, I have to start on my cosplay for Fanime!! Whoa, May, already...

[livejournal.com profile] khrfest has begun posting! :D I submitted quite a few prompts (mostly all involving Dino, hehehe). Can't wait to see if people will end up writing them!
FMA: Brotherhood moodtheme, specifically made for [livejournal.com profile] rubber_glue for [livejournal.com profile] help_japan, but anyone may use. :) (Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] rubber_glue, for the donation!)

This moodtheme mostly features the "good guys" or heroes. Mostly. ;) Ed is featured the most. He has some of the best expressions! There were many choices for anger, but not as many for the happier themes... or for laziness. Everyone is always going places and doing things in this series!

(I thought May kicking Ed in the face was pretty productive. *g*)

More FMA. ;D

For some reason, I keep typing "Wintry" whenever I'm trying to type Winry's name. -___-;

episodes 21-30 )
My domain and hosting is expiring soon. I almost forgot. Better renew it over the weekend before all my websites go poof.

Suuuuuper headache, so not quite sure what exactly I'm typing here. XDDD;; Hope everything makes sense despite my spelling mistakes and wrong words (I think one word... my fingers type another).

episodes 11-20 )
Finished watching the whole series. Some parts made me feel very nostalgic! Took lots of screencaps and was going to pick one per episode, but er, that was hard, so I'm dividing this into several posts. XD; Perhaps I should've done these posts as I was watching.

episodes 1-10 )
Legend of Sun Knight prequel of sorts
Ahhhh, 女武 (female...warrior or female martial arts... my fail translation of the title) is actually about the first generation of Holy Knights. Before they became knights/legends. How did I not know this?? Have to read it sometime... and so yeah, one of the first generation is actually female. XD; Pics of the 1st generation.

Pokemon Black & White
I've been playing Black. Currently battling the Elite Four and dying very badly, pft. My team is so weak! I've never been terribly good at training my teams though... for SoulSilver, I actually used a pokemon I transferred from a previous game as part of my team (he is like my ultimate Pokemon catching Pokemon, so I've been transferring him from game to game). I would've done the same for this game if I could've. XD;; He's a Kricketune by the name of Poke'Masta, hahaha. I chose Snivy as my starter and so wanted to name him Snivellus. But I named him Snive in the end.

N is probably my favorite villain out of the Pokemon games so far. I also love his appearance. A whole lot.

The gyms are all very strange. Very unique, I guess.

I spent a whole lot of time on SoulSilver and still haven't finished the game. I didn't spend much time on Black, but I'm already at the Pokemon League? It does feel like the League itself is just there for the sake of being there since there's a lot of towns I can't even visit yet. Hopefully I'll beat the Elite Four soon. XD I'm trying to see how far I can get without using items...

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
My marathoning is taking me quite a long time. XD; On episode 41 now! *___* And now I'm going, "just one more episode." After another episode... "Maybe one more." >__>

some random thoughts )
Bakuman
The Bakuman anime ended where I thought it would. It was a very slow-paced anime, but I thought it was fine like that. It's kind of nice to see it not rushed at all, and some scenes were even expanded on, especially Miho's parts (she's much more non-existent in the manga is my feeling...). I also got reminded of a lot of details that I've already forgotten. Makes me really want to write fic, but that hasn't happened yet except for two very short drabbles. :'D

more babbling )

Anime, Anime
I've fallen behind with everything else I've been following and haven't even started on others that I wanted to follow. =x But for next season, I've been looking forward to Ao no Exorcist, The World God Only Knows II, Sket Dance, and Kaiji, though I need to watch the first season of Kaiji first... which might not happen any time soon. I have a feeling that Ao no Exorcist and Sket Dance will turn out like Fairy Tail for me (in that I really want to follow it, but I'll only be able to for a few episodes before getting distracted by other things). I wonder how much Ao no Exorcist will cover? The manga hasn't gotten that far yet...

Recently, I'm getting the feeling that I'm much more of a manga reader than an anime watcher... and it seems that most anime I start watching are manga adaptions.

(I really want more decks based on manga at [livejournal.com profile] colors_tcg. *g* Manga fans!!! Please join!! I feel I can pretty much leave decks of new anime up to the other members to be donated. XD;; So...fans of older anime, please join too! XDD)

I plan on marathoning Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood first though, before watching any other anime. So yeah, I'll be busy with that. XD; (Though it is not a good anime to marathon...)

Help_Japan
Still working on [livejournal.com profile] help_japan commitments! I've finished all the chibi pixel art and they can all be viewed here in this post. Ryoma + Karupin, cats, Chi, and Tezuka + Fuji.

Thank you [livejournal.com profile] arachne13 and [livejournal.com profile] tsubasa_niji for bidding on them. <3 Still working on translations and that FMA:Brotherhood moodtheme (which is why I'm marathoning the series, finally)!
30 days of Tenipuri, all in one day! Because I am not up to posting daily with this. ^^; I'd feel like I were spamming...

That was long. My goal this weekend - finish [livejournal.com profile] help_japan stuff and write more for [livejournal.com profile] 31days_exchange. I keep getting pressured to play Pokemon, but I doubt I'll get around to it. XD;;; (It took me one week to take the plastic off, another week for me to insert it into my DS... now I'm finally at the first town, lol! this will take me forever). Don't think I'll be getting around to [livejournal.com profile] fanbook again. =/
This week is catch up with Detective Conan week for me. XD;

Conan sure gets hugged a lot )

Also, movie 14, I finally watched it. I squealed )

Level E

Jan. 10th, 2011 09:01 pm
lucathia: (fishbones: nash double blade)
Winter anime season has started! I fell behind with watching some anime from the previous season, but I'll be blogging about that separately sometime... if I ever finish watching those series, haha. XD

First episode of Level E is out! I don't know what most of the other winter anime series are about, but I was looking forward to this one. It surprised me that there'd ever be an anime adaption of Level E. The manga is so old now, and it isn't all that long either. The manga this is based on is by Togashi Yoshihiro, mangaka of Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter, and it was finished in... 1997 or so? Before After(?) Yu Yu Hakusho. For some reason, I always thought the manga would be very dark (I hadn't read it), but when I heard there'd be an anime adaption, I finally read parts of the manga. The humor really surprised me. I didn't think this would be a comedic sci-fi series. (ETA: there are some fairly dark parts too though. I wonder what the anime will turn out like)

So the premise is... a fairly normal high schooler moves to Tokyo because of baseball and finds an amnesic alien prince hiding out in his apartment. The manga doesn't take itself very seriously, haha (think, serious topics mixed with humor), and it looks like anime will be much the same, though this first episode might be trying to pass off as somewhat more serious. I look forward to the rest, since I'm sure there will be a lot of overturned assumptions to come, and lots and lots of parodies (mixed in with some more serious stuff). From this first episode, I noticed that the girl was called "Edogawa Miho" (I was going, hey, Edogawa! That's not common!) and then she mentioned in a later scene that her father works at the Conan Laboratory. *facepalm* XDD

one more screencap )

Not too sure what else I'll be watching this season.

edit: Possibly checking out Hourou Musuko, Beezlebub, and Kimi ni Todoke season 2 (but I need to finish season 1 first...)

Rajipuri 401

Dec. 12th, 2010 03:30 pm
lucathia: (fishbones: green background)
401 weeks of rajipuri, man! This month's personalities are Minagawa Junko and Konomi Takeshi!! Plus one of his assistants. This made for a very different session. :3

Usually they have two seiyuu facing off with each other (they get quizzed on Tenipuri, or they're challenged to do something). But since it was Konomi-sensei on the show, they asked him questions from the listeners instead. I look forward to the rest of the month. :D

Paraphrased by me. XD

Question 2:

Minagawa Junko: Who's the hardest to draw?

Konomi-sensei: (answers right away) Chitose.

Minagawa Junko: So fast! Why?

Konomi-sensei: Somehow he's hard to draw.

Minagawa Junko: Hair?

Konomi-sensei: His hair is hard. His face is hard too. He's tall, so the balance between him and the other characters can get weird. Even though he's far, he looks close... when he's with another tall character, they end up looking small too.
1.9 meters, then add his geta...

Minagawa Junko: Then who's the easiest?

Konomi-sensei: Inui.

Minagawa Junko: Hahaha, because he has no eyes?

Ahahaha, poor Chitose!

the rest of the questions )
When feeling down, a dose of Tenipuri crack works wonders for me. XD; (Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] hotarukunn for sharing these!)

PairPuri 3 (Akutsu x Kirihara). Akaya is really... cute here, and Akutsu is so manly, haha. He even plays savior. Akutsu~

PairPuri 5 (Sengoku x Saeki). So I was wondering what commonality tied Sengoku and Saeki together. Turned out it was their popularity with girls, hahaha. XD The Shiraishi and Yukimura part in the picture drama made me go "What the??" (because wasn't this supposed to be about Sengoku and Saeki?) but I was also grinning widely and laughing.

a few screencaps )
In addition to Bakuman and Kaminomi, I ended up checking out a few more series from what other people said they were going to follow. :3

Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai, Tegami Bachi Reverse, Psychic Detective Yakumo, Star Driver )

I think that was all I was planning on possibly following. Anyone following other stuff? XD
It has begun!!! KLAD;SFJA;

The opening is really...calm. The opening that came before that for the hero show drawn by Saiko's uncle made me think I was watching the wrong thing, hahaha (and it's sung by Hironobu Kageyama of Cha La Head Cha La fame). It was all fiery and hotblooded and everything. This totally makes me hope that they'll do an opening sequence for Crow. That would be beyond awesome. The song for the hero show started playing during the classroom scene with Saiko and Takagi...lol. I was reminded of the Steel Samurai BGM.

I don't know how people who aren't already a fan of the series would like this show, but I'm excited. I'll definitely be following this. <3

Mm, I also bought some new manga this week. Otomen volume 11, DNAngel volume 14, Yankee-kun to Megane-chan volume 19, and Battery volume 8. I just started Otomen volume 11 and was a bit lost because it's been a while since volume 10. XD; They were all dressed as samurai (the key to being a samurai is to be an otomen, lawl)! It has been forever since DNAngel volume 13, but the cover for volume 14 is quite cute. Yankee Megane is still going on about preparing for the college entrance exams, and these past volumes have shown me that Shinagawa is truly the main character while we don't get to see as much about Adachi, but this volume looks like it touches a bit more on Adachi's past. I haven't read Battery since volume 3, so it'll take me a bit before I read volume 8. XD

(eta: tennis in Detective Conan. I like.)
Because Yuuta + Yagyuu in the same episode is pure awesomeness, have a picspam of the episode. My love for Yuuta has been rekindled. XD The picture drama of PairPuri 2 (the DVD version) features the Fuji siblings shopping for a present for their sister, but they get stalked by a paranoid Mizuki, and somehow Niou and Yagyuu show up cosplaying in the background. It was so lol-worthy that I already made a deck out of it for [livejournal.com profile] twistserve_tcg. Having new material to work with feels good. :D Now to find the first PairPuri...

I also listened to Ryoutarou Matsuri today, a special radio session that celebrated Tezuka's first album (that means this was recorded waaaay back). It was very amusing to listen to. XD; A bunch of the seiyuu were all there to celebrate during new years, and they called a lot of other seiyuu during the show. It was cute. Glad I stumbled upon this since there was no rajipuri to listen to last week.

Oh, and is anyone listening to Okiayu Ryoutarou and Taiten Kusunoki's Radio? Those two are hilarious.

And since this post was all about Tenipuri, let me pimp the new deck list at Twist Serve. If you like Tenipuri, you should check Twist Serve out! :D This deck list shows all the different decks that are available for you to collect~. Come join us~.
