More FMA. ;D
For some reason, I keep typing "Wintry" whenever I'm trying to type Winry's name. -___-;
Episode 21

Ed tells Al his theory about it being possible to get Al's body back since Al's body exists beyond the Gate of Truth (or wherever that place is...). He somehow arrives at this conclusion after figuring out that reviving someone is impossible... I didn't understand this too well, but I guess it's because Al's body still exists? And he's alive? And the two brothers are somehow connected?
Al thinks about how Ed is always sleeping all the time and wonders if this has anything to do with them being connected. Since Al can't sleep, Ed is sort of sleeping for him. (I wonder if they are connected like that since Ed did the blood seal? Interesting thought. I don't think it was explained very explicitly later on, but it seems that when Ed got mortally wounded, Al's connection with the armor weakened too? Wouldn't that mean Al can survive only as long as Ed does? So his state isn't immortality at all, though a lot of people seem to think so... but hm, I doubt the person who sealed Barry's soul to the armor is still alive?)

At the hospital, Roy shows this kind of expression after finding out about Havoc's legs, the result of their battle with Lust. Nox reveals that he knew the Maria he examined was fake and tells Roy that if he keeps taking risks like that, it'll catch up to him, to which Roy replies that it's already happened.
D:

Armstrong meets Denny in the streets... and can't tell him anything since Maria said not to tell anyone! Poor Denny! In the dark for soooo long!

Ahhhhhhh. Havoc tells Roy to throw him away (since he's an useless chess piece) but Roy can't do it. Instead, he says that he understands and will leave him behind, but he'll be waiting at the top. Havoc curses and says that Roy is too soft.

With Scar sighted in Central once again, Ed goes crazy and helps a bunch of people in the city to make himself even more well known. Al plays cheerleader. The drawings are all outlined with very thick black lines during this part, with exaggerated voice acting for Ed. XD;

It seems to have worked, because Scar made his way to them while Ed argues with Roy about his plan. Roy decides to work with Ed and heads off with Riza to trick the different squads about Scar's location.
Roy had way too much fun here, trying to change his voice while calling everyone. (he is certainly no Kaitou Kid though, but he did well enough to confuse everyone... or they're just that bad at recognizing voices)

Lan Fan and Ling are stationed above since Ed is purposely putting himself in danger to lure out the homunculi since Ed knows the homunculi want to keep him and Al alive. After luring out Gluttony, who Lan Fan and Ling can somehow sense, King Bradley comes and fights them, perplexed by Lan Fan and Ling's ability to sense them.
Lan Fan!! D:
Episode 22

This episode continues with the battle between Lan Fan/Ling and King Bradley/Gluttony. Ling finally gets to show off his fighting skills! He's pretty good! Being able to escape from King Bradley while carrying someone is impressive.

While Ling is dealing with the homunculi, Ed and Al are fighting Scar... and Winry happens to walk in (conveniently) at the very moment when Ed yells at Scar for killing the Rockbells. Hearing this, Winry is devastated and picks up a gun.
Scar tells her that it's her right. He then recalls the words (from his master?) that revenge and hatred will only bring more hatred. This encounter seems to get him thinking.
It also gets Ed thinking. He tries his hardest to convince Winry to drop the gun. He also tells her that her hands aren't meant for this (but rather for healing). When Scar moves towards her after she doesn't make a move, Ed jumps in front of her to protect her, causing Scar to remember his brother jumping in front of him to protect him from Kimblee.
(I really loved the juxtaposition)
It seems to me perhaps this is when Ed realizes his feelings for Winry?

Scar's brother is VERY cool looking (ee~, glasses). And smart. Very smart. As well as sacrificial, though I think Scar would have done the same (trying to save his brother) if their roles had been reversed.
We learn a lot about Scar in this episode, his family, his brother, and what exactly happened between him and the Rockbells. And Kimblee.
Glowing blue eyes is very scary.
I just spent a whole lot of time reading up about Scar right now, since I don't remember the 2003 version of him all that well anymore. (They're quite different). I find it a lot easier to sympathize with Scar in this version, and he drives home the revenge angle (and how it leads nowhere).
Episode 23

Fight between Ling and King Bradley continues! Have a shot of Ling being cool (and doing his utmost to stay alive and protect Lan Fan)

When Lan Fan took out a kunai, I completely thought she was going to kill herself so that Ling could escape. >__>
Glad she didn't and instead came up with a plan... by cutting off her own arm. D: But it did help them survive. She is very cool indeed.

After Ling captures Gluttony by making use of his regeneration capabilities, Riza drives by in her disguise to pick them up. XD;
Megane!Riza. With her hair down.

Scar, on the verge of getting captured, gets saved by May. Who performs a bunch of Eastern alchemy that gets their heads turning.

Shao May gets seperated from May. SO CUTE.

New pyramid. XD; Ed and Yoki are rated even lower than food, pft.
Episode ends with Gluttony captured.
Episode 24

We find out that Marcoh is still alive! Yay, Marco!!!! I completely thought he had died versus getting kidnapped. But poor Marcoh realizes that he's in for some terrible plans, but it's either comply, or have the entire town he's been staying with wiped out.

Wrath talking with a yet to be revealed Homunculus by this point. I was trying to figure out who it could be, since he sounded pretty powerful.

They ask Nox to see to Lan Fan's injury (he thinks she's crazy for walking around a sewer with that kind of injury), but while everyone's arguing about who gets to lug Gluttony off to study him (poor Gluttony), Gluttony breaks out of the ropes and locks on to Roy Mustang. Because he killed Lust. Gluttony is kind of child-like... it always made me a little sad with how lost he was without Lust.
But anyway, I wanted to point out Shao May grabbing on to Al's ribbon thing while they got chased by Gluttony. XD;
The adults are forced to escape (Roy's still not up for fighting). Ed, Al, and Ling stay behind (I guess Ling can be considered a kid too??? He's pretty young but he doesn't look it...???) and battle Gluttony and Envy... until Ed, Ling, and Envy get swallowed by Gluttony.

...forgot what this was about, but have a shocked!Roy. XD;
Episode 25

The adventures of Ed and Ling while stuck in Gluttony's stomach. Or something like that. XD; A few years ago while watching Inuyasha, I entertained thoughts of writing a long, sort of crazy, fic about the people who got sucked into Miroku's wind tunnel, with the idea that it led to another dimension, and all the people who got sucked in were still living there with no way out. Along with all the poison and other garbage that Miroku sometimes sucks in.
This episode had a similar feeling to what I wanted to explore. *___*
With no food, Ed resorts to cooking his boots. Ling hopes Ed doesn't have athlete's foot. They discover Xerxes buildings inside. Which means quite a lot! Gluttony must've been around for quite some time for one.

It turns out that Envy is also stuck in there. He tells them there's no way out. They can only wait for death. And then a fight breaks out, with Envy turning into a very disturbing green dragon-like monster with faces of a bunch of people littering his skin.

Outside, Al and Shao May are sitting around. Al seems kind of like he doesn't know what to do, but he thinks and thinks and thinks.

Finally, he asks Gluttony to take him to see "Father".
Wow, Gluttony is short compared to Al.
Episode 26

We get shown King Bradley's past. D: And how he underwent trained with a bunch of other guys from birth(?) to be the next King Bradley, so that had always been his fate. It was either that, or dying from incompatibility with Wrath.
Wonder why he was so forthcoming to Roy about his background, but it sure brought things into perspective? (And we also got to learn about King Bradley as the audience) As for Roy... his actions really got limited. All of his subordinates got reassigned, and we learn that the army is very, very corrupt because all the higher ups were in the know about King Bradley being a homunculus. People even helped create him.

Ed realizes a way out of Gluttony's stomach (the fake/failed Gate of Truth) by going through the actual Gate. He works with Envy to leave the place, and while he jumps through, he sees Al's body. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. AL!!!
The gate closing. Al's expression. And then Ed bursting through the Gate again to tell Al that he was going to be back. GAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. What a scene.
And then this Gate-breaking part was included in the new opening. It IS quite a scene. XD;
Episode 27

Flashback chapter. I wanted to skip it, but then it was interspersed with Hohenheim musing. And young Pinako. I still didn't know much about Hohenheim by this point, so I was trying to figure out throughout this entire episode where exactly he stood (and how much Pinako knew. seems like she knows a lot).
The people dancing by the fire seemed all cheerful, but it also made me feel lonely since Hohenheim watched everything from the sides, and the dancing kind of turned... eerie. Until everyone vanished all together.
This last part was very sweet though.
Episode 28

Ed successfully escapes from Gluttony's stomach and lands right at Father's feet since Al had Gluttony take him there. Father finds out that Ed and Al are Hohenheim's sons. Sounds like he didn't know. o____o;; He is very... glowy.
Well, finally we learn explicitly that Father isn't "Hohenheim". XD;; But they must have some relation since they look exactly alike.

Since Ling is not a human sacrifice, he's useless and potentially dangerous with his ability to sense homunculi. Instead of getting rid of him though, Father thinks he can be used, so he tries to transform Ling into a Homunculus. Ed and Al try to stop him, but Ling tells them to stay back. This is just what he wants. Immortality.

So when Greed tries to take over, Ling actually gives his body over because he wants absolute power.

Before.

After.

May and Scar arrive on scene during their search for the missing Shao May... May finally sees Ed...

Her fantasy is destroyed. XDDD
Ed and Al are completely unable to use alchemy, but Scar and May are still able to do so. Ed contemplates using the gun Riza gave him, but to him, a gun is a murder weapon. (although I can see how a gun might seem lethal, it seems like a small thing compared to what people can do with alchemy in this series...)

*adds in a missed screencap*
Episode 29
Ed and Al are completely at the mercy of Father. Envy escorts them to a meeting with King Bradley. Turns out Roy is still there. Even with 3 of them against King Bradley, it seems that King Bradley has complete confidence that he still has the upperhand.
Before they leave, he pierces through Al's armor. Good thing May is short. 0_______0;

Roy realizes that Riza must still be standing outside. Worried, he rushes out... only to be greeted by Armstrong. XD;

Worried for Winry's safety now that she has become a hostage, Ed calls Winry who completely brushes him off. (but is pleased that he called)
Ahaha, Shao May in Al's mouth. XD;

Scar, who escaped separately, comes across Marcoh who asks Scar to come down (since Scar is hurt). When Marcoh realizes who Scar is, he is overjoyed because he doesn't want to be used for what's to come. He asks Scar to kill him.
Marcoh. ;___;
But Scar first asks Marcoh to tell him what happened in Ishval.

Al brings May to Nox. Another patient! Nox complains that he's not a doctor!

On top of the building, we get a meeting between King Bradley and the new Greed, who seems to have no recollections of being the previous Greed. Ling breaks through for a one liner during the conversation when King Bradley says that Ling talked about how the king exists for his people. Without his people, there is no king, but Ling stupidly gave into greed after all his talk.
Ling scolds him for looking down on humans. King Bradley's expression during this was so surprised (I'd even say cute. King Bradley, cute??)

Armstrong. ;____; He could not stand the Ishval war and pretty much ran away from him. He's a big softie.

Ahahaha. Lan Fan and May get into a fight (since they're from different clans). You show them, Nox! Patients are patients!!
Episode 30
This is the Ishval episode. Just one episode, with Marcoh recounting what happened to Scar, and Riza telling Ed what happened. I wonder if more was covered in the manga? Since this was just one episode.

We also get introduced to Riza's dad in this episode. :O I was very gleeful to learn that Roy and Riza knew each other before everything started, and that Roy was actually learning alchemy under her father. :O Riza's father apparently carved his learnings on his daughter's back.
He also says that he's already accomplished his greatest wish.

Roy tells Riza his dream of using alchemy for good, creating a peaceful world, etc, though he might die from his ideals. He tells her to look for him if she ever needs anything.
Young Roy and Riza. <33333

After telling Ed about the war (and letting us know how Riza encountered Roy again, fufufu, though it was a dreary meeting...) and how snipers knew every shot was another life, Riza sort of teases? Ed about Winry. XD; Ed&Winry seems a lot more blatant here!
Roy & Riza conversation after the war:
Roy: If I'm leaving you in charge of my back, that means you can shoot me from behind at anytime. If I ever stray from my path, shoot me right away with those hands. You have that right. Will you follow me?
Whoa. XD;

May switches her fantasies to Al. Since Al is much more gentlemanly. XD;
For some reason, I keep typing "Wintry" whenever I'm trying to type Winry's name. -___-;
