Natsume Yuujinchou San
I have fallen so behind with anime watching that I haven't been watching anything lately. I've tried to keep up with Natsume, but I fell behind with that too! I played catch up this week though, and now I'm just two episodes behind. The episodes quite relax me.

Matobe Matoba! Voiced by Suwabe Junichi, who voices Atobe from Prince of Tennis. Because of this, I keep typing Matoba's name as Matobe, haha... this is the Atobe syndrome. I read a little of the manga but didn't keep up with it. Nice to see this arc animated!

School festival episode. :D When Taki showed up here, I went, wait, is her hair shorter than usual... oh right! It's for her crossdressing cafe! I really like the look. ;)
The World God Only Knows OVA
A one episode OVA came out for Kami Nomi! Was great seeing Keima in action again, though this episode was merely a bridge to something more. It sure hints at a lot of things though.

Chihiro challenging Kanon.

Keima! :D

How was he able to write so much in such a short time... I was amused that he included phrases like "World God Only Knows", though all that flashed by really quickly.

Not a fan of Kanon, but I love this scene. :)

The ending sequence was quite pretty!

Or well, it had pretty images of the characters.

Even the normal girl has a good still.

But most of all, I just liked the ending for Yui. YUI! *am so hoping for a 3rd season*

Elsie~
This episode seems like an episode where nothing of importance happened, but it does drop hints. I just hope there'll be a third season so that we'll actually get into the later plot!
New games announced!
So recently, I've heard that Fire Emblem is coming out with a new game on the 3DS (now I really need to get a 3DS sometime, huh? Especially since it now seems very likely that the Professor Layton vs Gyakuten Saiban game is going to be released in English too. But 3D is lost on me since I like it best when I turn the 3D all the way down).
Just yesterday, there was also news that there'll be a new Suikoden game on the PSP. This made me very happy since I heard that the Suikoden team had been disbanded. While this isn't a continuation of the main storyline, I'm just happy that the series is continuing. I enjoyed Tierkreis. Hopefully I'll enjoy the new game too.

Date: 2011-09-18 03:16 am (UTC)THAT NEW SUIKODEN GAME
I have mixed feelings about it. While I'm happy to see that Konami hasn't abandoned Suikoden entirely I wish they would work on mainstream series q__q Oh well, I know what decks to submit in 2012 now.......

Date: 2011-09-18 07:52 am (UTC)I'm mostly glad that there is even a new Suikoden at all, though I do wonder if there are any intentions of returning to the main series, and even if they do ever return to the main series, will they ever set anything after the events in III... D:
But more Suikoden decks? Heck yes. ^_____^

Anyhoo, checked out the website some - I like the general appearance of the male main character (the haircut, hair color, and facial expression). Can't wait to find out more of this game and to be able to see more official art!!!
Matobe! Lolz! Love it. The Atobe syndrome is so contagious XD Because his voice is just... gorgeous. <3 At least in Uta no Prince-sama, his character's name was Ren Jinguji... there wasn't really any way to put his name in that.
This is kind of random, but sometimes when I type 'Sanada' real fast, I leave out the 'a' and get 'Sanda'. It sounds so funny to read. Now I always think of it as 'sad' + 'panda' = 'sanda'. Especially when he's being picked on haha. *hugs Sanaa*

Date: 2011-09-18 07:56 am (UTC)I don't own a 3DS. I've looked at it in stores and it really hurts my eyes. Every time I tried it out, I always find myself wanting to turn the 3D off... which really defeats the purpose of having it 3D...
I like the appearance of the male main character too. His design reminds me a bit of Ephraim from FE8. He looks manlier than Marth but a bit more refined than Ike, is what I feel.
I seriously was trying to type Matoba and ended up typing Matobe before I even realized what I did, haha. And I did it quite a lot. Seriously, it must be the Atobe syndrome. ;) I still need to watch Utapuri! I want to hear Suwabe in htat. :D
Poor Sanada! Sanda... s-sad panda! Ahahaha! Oh dear.

Date: 2011-09-18 03:30 pm (UTC)Although I probably shouldn't because my PoT/FE story has been stuck long enough!I haven't looked at one yet, but I have heard from several people that it does hurt your eyes. *contemplates if FE would consider being in 2D for those people who wish not to fork over the money for a 3DS*
!! Yus !! A friend and I were trying to find a way to describe him last night (as I continued to oogle at the picture). All we got was "Wannabe Ike" 'cause of the sleeveless shirt on one side and the armor on the other. But Ephraim/Ike/Marth is perfect!
And I feel as if a shirt collar like that goes on some kind of elegant jacket (not a sleeveless shirt) because I love those type of shirt collars. My friend says "You cannot be a fashion protagonist in the midst of war" XDDD
Suwabe sounds exactly like Atobe in Utapuri... with Oshitari-smexiness. Which reminds me I need to get the latest episode. I really enjoy it for the songs, the art in general, and for the fairly cheery atmosphere. >> Since it's only 13 episodes long, it churns along pretty quickly for a reverse harem.
-Unrelated, but not really... Got La Corda Vol. 14 the other day. My love for Len Tsukimori was comforted yet again (and Ryoutarou too!).
... I just totally realized I left out the 'd' and go 'Sanaa', which sounds as bit like a whiny word. *dies* *is a sanda for the typo*

Date: 2011-09-18 09:00 pm (UTC)Ah, I went to the stores to look at the 3DS because I was very curious. I didn't like the effect much at all, though maybe it'll grow on me... I feel more than that, my eyes would just get tired. It would be awesome if FE were released in 2D too... I liked the GBA FEs a lot!
Hahaha, wannabe Ike. XD He does have that sleeveless shirt thing going on. No wonder I was reminded of Ike too, especially from his sprite. His face reminds me of Ephraim though.
Haha, nope, how can anyone be a fashion protagonist in the middle of war? That'd be some skill!
Oh gosh, more and more reason to watch Utapuri. I could use something lighthearted and not too complicated! (I hope it's not too complicated. Some reverse harems can get a bit convoluted, haha...)
Oo, vol 14. *searches for her copy* The one with Hihara on the cover? (He's look way too serious here). I need to reread this series sometime and finally read on from where I left off. *___*
Haha, I thought Sanaa was another nickname for Sanda (oh gosh, my fingers just ended up typing Sanda and left out the second a).

Date: 2011-09-19 01:08 am (UTC)I keep getting stuck on super plot moments because my perfectionist self wants it to be exactly rightAnd things in general are getting very complicated with people joining the party and Seigaku's movement and etc. I also keep losing track of things that I need to happen again and why they need to. But I shall persevere and it will be epic!I've only played FE7 and it was awesome. Except for perhaps the final mission where Lyn was only Lv. 11 (I completely neglected her in favor of my other units). Lv. 11 Lyn and the (Ghosts of) Four Fangs is not good. Lol.
Lots and lots of skill. Perhaps Atobe if he was a character in FE :P He would have so much flair!
Utapuri is not really complicated at all. I think the only other reverse harems I've watched are La Corda and Neo Angelique. I do hope you enjoy it when you watch it :)
Yup - that's the one! And hooray, you think he looks too serious too!
I was like... whoa, Hihara looks intenseVol. 15 is not set to be released until March (Why so far away?!). I was all kinds of happy reading this volume though - sports festival day and seeing Shimizu participate in it was just amazing. And the Hihari/Azuma butler thing was just priceless (kind of like how Sanada and Yagyuu are butlers in one of the Pairpuris and Echizen and Momo are like "Whoa... they totally work!"). + Lots of Len and his perfect standing posture. *hugs Len*Sad pandas are on the verge of taking over the world! XD Nope - Sanaa was a "It's really early in the morning" typo. Although I can see Yukimura using the term 'Sanaa' to ask him for a big favor. Pfft.

Date: 2011-09-19 03:20 am (UTC)FE7 was great fun and was what got me addicted to the series. :) Eh, Lyn at a mere lv11? Oh gosh...however did you manage to pass that level then? That sounds majorly difficult.
Sounds like Utapuri is definitely what I'll watch next after Natsume Yuujinchou. :D
Hihara looks so serious and intense on that cover. It surprised me! Ahh, that's a long wait time for volume 15. You make me want to reread the volume! I don't remember these events clearly enough. (But Hihara and Azuma would make very good butlers. I totally agree with Ryoma and Momo that Sanada and Yagyuu make awesome butlers).
Oh gosh, sad pandas and world domination... XD; I can see Yukimura saying "Sanaa" too. Actually reminds me of Rajipuri where Yukimura was reading letters from Sanada. (And they announced Sanada's name by dragging out the second syllable. Letters from "Sanaaada".)

Date: 2011-09-19 05:23 am (UTC)I have not watched Natsume Yuuhinchou, but since you suggested it, I will look into it. I haven't watched anything new with the exception of Utapuri on the random discovery that Suwabe sings in it XD Btw, how long is Natsume?
Awww, best of luck to you! The dinner scene with seven people was just like.... "Someone please kill me right now" because not everyone can talk at the same time and you don't want just a long stream of dialogue. I sometimes have the non-talking characters interact with the scenery XD Like Kirihara knocking something over lol.
I had to leave Lyn out of the range of the first two enemies. And then had to defeat them as quickly as possible to more her up before the next enemy appeared. It was a bit of a trial and error to get it right.
Oh right! You have the Japanese volumes, don't you? I was wondering why you had to dig up Vol. 14 if it just came out lol. Now I understand! Azuma (despite being kind of a jerk) would be this alluring butler man. And Hihara just has lots of charm. Sanada and Yagyuu as butlers makes Hymn as very happy person indeed! Because they would be so good at it and super serious. Maybe give Sebastian Michaelis a run of his money?
Nah.Sebastian is a boss.If I could actually understand Japanese more than the basic level, I'd probably listen to the Rajipuris. Although I have listened to a few of the Meganes ones and they're just too funny! But ooo... Sanaaada read by Yukimura? AMAZING. Yukimura never ceases to tease his extra-stoic self!

Date: 2011-09-19 06:25 am (UTC)Natsume Yuujinchou is a very heartwarming slice of life type of show with some supernatural elements involved (since Natsume can see demons/ayakashi). It's three seasons long, with each season being 13 episodes or so. Or was it 12... I don't remember, but three short seasons. :3
I managed to get through the scene with 4 people talking, but it was the rest of the knights behind them that had nothing to do in the end (since each of them led 20 or so knights... yet none of them were doing anything!). Yeah, not everyone can be talking at the same time... ah, having them interact with the scenery is good! I should have more throwaway lines with brief mentions of the background characters.
Wow, that's some maneuvering to get Lyn there! I know I had to save some people with other units in some cases and move them around that way. :)
Yup, I have the Japanese volumes of La Corda d'Oro. Part of the reason I've been so lazy to finish reading them is because they require a lot of effort to read in Japanese. XD; Maybe the English releases will catch up by the time I get around to finishing reading mine! Yesss, Sanada and Yagyuu would be the super serious kind of butlers, with Yagyuu being more polite and gentleman-y, while Sanada would be strict but deferential if you deserve his respect. Hihara would be a fun butler to have around. He'd be the buddy buddy type. XD; While Azuma... haha. XD; He'd be a bit like Sebastian, I suppose...
I try to listen to rajipuri weekly. :) I usually get distracted so a lot of it goes over my head, but the seiyuu are so amusing. Yukimura sure never ceases to tease Sanada! XD And all of the seiyuu keep making fun of Sanada's KIIIIIEEEEEEEE, haha...

Date: 2011-09-19 02:49 pm (UTC)I noticed that my story took on a bit of the "As The Pieces Fall Together" chapter set up - kind of small introductory chapters to set the mood, and then the chapters start getting longer and longer as the plot thickens. Yay - thanks for thinking it's so epic it even gets capital letters!!
Ooo... Natsume sounds like something I'll enjoy watching! Will add to my download list and see if I can get a few episodes the next time I go to a wifi zone.
You could have one of the knights start juggling apples, which distracts the attention of many of the other knights XDDD And a few throwaway lines never hurt anybody either.
PoT/FE has to be the first time where I've had to deal w/ more than three main characters in a long scene. Another scene, there was a choice to have seven again, but Yukimura was like "No... let's just leave Kirihara in bed". :P Wise choice my friend.
Do you own all of your manga in Japanese? *is curious* I'm sure they require quite a bit of effort and kudos to you for trying!
Sebastian is the butler of all butlers (but he is only merely a butler!) *hugs him* This reminds me of a PoT [MAD] I saw once (I hope I downloaded and put it on my external hard drive somewhere because it doesn't exist online anymore). The PoT [MAD] was of the ending of Kuroshitsuji where you see a scrolling scenery and Sebastian and Ciel (plus others) going through a typical day of butler-tude. Only it had Yukimura as Ciel and primarily Sanada at the butler (although Yanagi and Jackal was his role at times). Yagyuu was the chick w/ the glasses, Kirihara was the gardener, and Marui was the cook (I believe... sort of poor memory). And Niou was Pluto the human dog. It was clever and well-done!
The seiyuu are indeed amusing! I'm so glad they've kept up with PoT fandom for so long XD The world never ceases to tease Sanada haha... It is so canon by now ^^ And Yanagi in my story hardly ever stops either. *pokes the manly man playfully* Speaking of the KIIIIEEEEEE, where exactly did that first appear in the anime? I don't think I noticed it there, but at a Tenipuri Festa and a translated Rajipuri where Hiyoshi tries to get Tezuka and Sanada to say something ten times fast and Sanada failboats hardcore.

Date: 2011-09-20 01:04 am (UTC)I hope you'll enjoy Natsume Yuujinchou if you end up watching it. :D
Haha, juggling apples. XD; That's an amusing sight.
Go Yukimura! Sounds like he made the scene marginally easier to write for you. :) You have Rikkai all assembled though (or well, just except for Kirihara). That sounds majorly tough to write.
I used to buy Chinese editions of manga, but now that my relatives don't visit as often, I don't get to ask them to bring as much manga for me, so I buy my manga from Japanese bookstores around where I live. This allows me to practice my Japanese too, since I only started studying it in college. (And it's nice to have things in the original language without meanings and certain nuances possibly being lost in translation).
Haha, Sebastian surely is the butler of butlers. Oooh, that MAD sounds vaguely familiar. I might have seen it once during my bouts of Tenipuri MAD watching. Rikkai as chibi = so cute! (Especially with them as chibis...serving Yukimura!)
It's amazing that they've kept on with Tenipuri for all these years and that they still remember a lot about their characters. XD; Teasing Sanada is so canon! Huh, I don't remember where KIIIIEEEE first started showing up... I just remember Taitem Kusunoki, Sanada's seiyuu, remarking that he didn't know what to do with that line at first, but now he's really taken to it a whole lot. Everyone makes fun of the line, or they imitate it!
This message is long...
Date: 2011-09-20 02:21 am (UTC)I hope I do too! I feel as though we have very similar tastes so it will all work out! Thank you again.
Juggling apples is always amusing. Now I suddenly want to incorporate it into a scene in PoT/FE. Niou in both of my multi-chapter fics (and the As the Pieces spin-off fic) usually has an apple somehow. XD And Sanada's favorite fruit somehow ended up being the mango lol.
Actually, I have all of Rikkai assembled except for Niou at this point. :) The scene I was talking about was an impromptu strategy meeting and I was like "No... there's no need for Kirihara to be present for this one." Luckily, there are only a few chapters where they are actually in groups of 6 or more. Whew.
I want a Japanese bookstore around where I live. But alas, the state of Michigan wouldn't have much to do with Asian type stuffs anyway. And you're taking Japanese in college! ^^ So much fun! I was a super busy music education major so I couldn't afford to squeeze in extra classes in my schedule, but I did manage to get in one semester of Japanese my fifth year. Hooray basics! My brother is majoring in International and Global Studies w/ a minor in Japanese... but they just changed it for next year so you can actually have Japanese as a major so he's switching over asap.
I'm sad that one of the main PoT MAD collectors on YouTube's account is now gone. I was looking for that one the other day to share! *hugs Rikkai chibis* Anytime they're depicted as serving Yukimura, I am greatly amused. Like in my story every time I type 'Lord Yukimura'. I have to remind myself to not type that outside of the story XD
KIIIIEEEEEEE!!!!! *takes out kendo sword and starts maniacally slashing at the air*
So, now that I'm all graduated and dealing with the fail!job hunt that is Michigan's state governor who hates public education + US economy... Well, I'm hoping to get a job pronto because I do want to go to my first anime convention in my life. And after much debate, my soul says I should be Sanada first and then Yagyuu. I WANT TO TARUNDORU LINES OF PEOPLE AND LET LOOSE A MANLY ROAR OF EPICNESS. And now the KIIIEEEE!!!!
Anyhoo, I mention this very randomly 'cause the big trip I'm planning for is Anime Expo 2013 (yes, that's two years from now to save up non-existent money). And a bunch of friends of mine are interested in going too (never met them in real life) and I wanted to see if you want to meet up there too! Wouldn't that be fantastic? Nothing's set in stone, but that's the plan so far!
PS - Did I ever mention that I absolutely love your journal header? Because I do. Especially the guy w/ the brown hair.
Re: My message is just as long...
Date: 2011-09-20 02:50 am (UTC)Yes, I feel we have pretty similar tastes. :D
Ah, Niou juggling apples. That would be a sight to see! Now, if he threw an apple and then shot an arrow at it, I would be very impressed. Sanada...liking mangoes! I laughed. Oh Sanada~.
Oh, oh, see, this I would need to read to find out. I haven't gotten far enough to see Marui, Jackal, and Kirihara join the others yet. *___*
There are more Japanese bookstores around LA but not around where I live, but I glad there's one big one! Although the prices are quite high, I still continue buying... I took Japanese in college, pretty much all the courses they offered except for 5th year Jap since I wasn't there that long. I've already graduated for awhile now. XD; (And forgetting quite a lot of my Japanese...) I minored in Japanese, but it wouldn't have taken too much more to major in it. Nice that you were able to squeeze in one class of Japanese! The basics can get you pretty far with self study if you have time for that. :D Oo, good luck to your brother with his endeavor with studying Japanese!
Awww. Do you frequent nico nico directly? I don't go there a lot, but when I do I can get stuck watching MADs all day long, especially Tenipuri ones. Now I want to dig up my favorites...
Yukimura just fits the lord title so well that we should call him that even on a daily basis. Lord Yukimura!
I am in the same position myself with fail!job hunt. Am just substituting at the moment... but come next year, if I still can't find a job, I'll need a change of plans. We'll see what happens then... I said the same thing this year, but I haven't given up hope yet...
AX! I would love to meet up if you do end up going to Anime Expo! I've been going for the past few years, so it's likely I'll still be going in 2013 if I'm still in California at that time. Depends on where my (currently still non existent permanent job) takes me. ;) Ahhh, Sanada and then Yagyuu? How are you going to choose? I did cosplay Kirihara a few times. I've never tried Sanada or Yagyuu though. I was tempted with Yagyuu. XD;
I am personally in love with my header! I can stare at it for a long, long time. XD; So I'm glad it looks nice! It's from Legend of the Sun Knight, what I'm currently spamming my journal with fic for. It's a Taiwanese light novel and manhua series featuring twelve holy knights who aren't at all like what they're supposed to be like. Very quirky and humorous series. The guy with the brown hair, especially, is supposed to be the most honest knight of all, but he's actually pretty devious and flirty. XD; I love the themes in this story and the setting. (just like I love the setting in Fire Emblem~)
Re: My message is just as long...
Date: 2011-09-20 03:39 am (UTC)In the As the Pieces spin-off (it's on myanimelist since ff.net doesn't allow chat format), the non-Platinum Pair characters get a hand on Yanagi's story and make fun of it to each other. During the Rikkai picnic, there's this great length of time where Sanada doesn't say anything, and then I noticed it later that he didn't say anything. So I had one of the characters point that out and then he says "These mangoes are good." That is where Sanada's love for mangoes was born!!
I'll pass along your good luck to my brother. He's looking to study abroad next year (this is the part where some jealousy kicks in). Japan has phenomenal band programs (or at least, the bands on the All-Japan Band contests are freaking phenomenal)... If I could speak the language, maybe I'd go over there and teach a kick-butt band program XD I hope that you don't forget more of your Japanese - the PoT fandom is calling to you for translations!!!
I was introduced to Nico nico when the first Giri Giri Morning came out. But alas, I am at home on dial-up internet so that keeps me from going on Nico Nico or YouTube. Or anywhere there's like a hundred images on the same page. And when I do go to wifi zone, I am downloading and working on business, which doesn't leave time for other stuff :/
If you ever find that Kuroshitsuji/Rikkai one, I will love you forever.
Between me and you, he shall be Lord Yukimura! Speaking of which, I needed a change of pace, so I wrote what would be around Ch. 52 (the part where Sanada and Yukimura finally get together)... And Sanada calls him 'Lord Yukimura' and Yukimura is like "You know... you don't have to call me that when we're alone together". It was funny to me. XD
Yup - I'm awaiting for the teachers in my area to get sick/need a day off/etc. since I'm registered as a substitute teacher. Been applying to the zero music jobs and some secretary positions (since it's something that greatly interests me and I have a lot of experience in the office).
I say 2013 'cause a flight from Michigan to California isn't going to be cheap lol. Gives some time for people to save up some money. But if you end up moving closer to me, we can always hit a convention around there. It shall be fantastic to finally go to one. Best of luck to both of us to get a job!!! (Q: I totally forgot what you majored in as a teacher... tell me please?)
Sanada ended up being the choice 'cause all of my friends say that I channel so much of his attributes... and that they want me to yell at random people about discipline and honor and to Tarundoru everything else XD
So I guess they want me to make an epic fool out of myselfBut for multi-day conventions, I'll be Sanada the first, and then Yagyuu the next when my voice goes hoarse lol.And challenge people to tennis matches>>> One of these days I shall be Sebastian. Because I'm a sucker for tailcoats and formal wear. Or I could be Sanada/Yagyuu from the Pairpuri where they are in tailcoats haha. XD
What kept you from not being Yagyuu fellow Yagyuu fan? :D
Your Legend of the Sun Knight fic is on my to-read list. It just looks so interesting! I don't do suspense too well so I think part of me is waiting for it to get closer to the end before I start reading. And I love your writing in general <3
Oooo... The brown hair guy sounds like my cup of tea. What's his name? I shall go wikipedia-ing/google-ing for LotSK now!
Re: My message is just as long...
Date: 2011-09-20 05:14 am (UTC)Haha! That mango story just amuses me so much. Guess it stuck for Sanada? So he was eating mangoes the entire time and enjoying it so much that he couldn't speak... XD
Ahh, study abroad. What a great opportunity! I didn't manage to fit that into my schedule in college. Wow, it would be pretty amazing if you could teach band in Japan. :) If I ever went overseas to teach, it would probably be teaching English since I don't exactly have a specialized field. My credential is Elementary Education (And I have a masters in curriculum and instruction). I'm not sure if that translates to anything outside of the US.
Oh gosh, I need to translate more! Both to practice my Japanese, and to not let the translations pile up since Tenipuri seems to be getting active again. So much new stuff!
Ahh, so you have dial-up currently. No wonder you said you need to wait for wi-fi for Natsume. :)
I'll let you know if I ever come across that Tenipuri/Kuroshitsuji MAD again! Just checked my favorites list on niconico and don't have it saved there, darn.
Sanada finally not calling him Lord Yukimura? Much awesomeness! (But I was just getting used to Yukimura having the awesome Lord title!) Oh wait, there are still another handful of chapters to go before that scene, huh? XD
Nice that you have something on the side too you're looking into~. Substituting's not bad (less pressure for sure) but it's a little unstable, and I so want my own classroom. I also don't want my credential to expire (it expires in five years, it's already been two since I applied for it while I was still finishing my master's). What did you register to substitute for? Is it subject specific?
Ah, I doubt I'll be moving east. I'm considering perhaps moving around my own state (California) if necessary, or perhaps going overseas for a year and then deciding after that... but it would be great if we could meet at a convention. ;)
I think you'd pull off a great Sanada. Oh gosh, playing matches in cosplay would be quite awesome. I've always wanted to take photos on the tennis courts in cosplay! XD There's me as Kirihara. XD; I only managed a few quick pics on the court back then and didn't get to play any tennis. I felt quite silly.
Formal wear~. They look so great on anime characters. XD;
I have no idea why I didn't cosplay Yagyuu. I think Kirihara just called me more. XD; That, and I felt I could more reasonably cosplay him than Yagyuu. I would make a very short Yagyuu, though I'm also too short for Kirihara, haha. I was perhaps much too polite to channel Kirihara though!
Oh, my LSK fic on your reading list? Awesome! *___* So happy to hear this. :D It's not very heavily suspenseful at all despite the summary (or maybe that's just me...), since for a portion, I parallel the actual story quite a lot, and as readers, we know more than the characters at some point. XD; But I've reached the point where my story diverges from canon more, so now it's more new material! ;) I'm having a lot of fun writing this. I don't remember if I directed you to LSK already or not since I've been recommending it to people, but novel translations can be found here and manhua translations here. :) I'm helping with translating the novel from Chinese to English too~.
You have just spurred me to write more. (especially with my other, neglected projects...)
The brown haired guy is the Earth Knight who specializes in defensive abilities. :D They're generally called by their position, so the Earth Knight is just called Earth.
Re: My message is just as long...
Date: 2011-09-20 04:03 pm (UTC)Yup - the mango eating was my explanation for his lack of talking. But really it was because several of the quotes they were poking fun of at the time, he wouldn't be able to say anything because they may have been a bit too.... affectionate for him. *doesn't remember correctly* Sanada also is my ultimate rice eater (because of Kane-chan). I wonder if I used any other small -isms for my characters throughout my stories? I usually put them in there for fun for my avid readers to catch haha.
It would be totally awesome to teach band in Japan! But I wasn't exposed to the epicness that is there music programs until I was in college, and by then, I had very strong reasons to want to teach in Michigan (we also have pretty strong band programs and I've met many of the band directors on the middle-west side of the state).
My state was looking for a 1st grade Japanese teacher and a 1st grade English teacher at that same Japanese school. I just thought "Well, darn, I'm not certified to do any of that lol". But I'm kind of a failboat of elementary education lol. I applaud you for having a desire to teach younger kids!! :D
Don't overwork yourself w/ translations! << Speaking of which, there was a picture of some Rikkai member (Yukimura? Sanada?) in formal attire that I wanted to see from a previous post. Now I don't remember exactly what it was so I'm going to have to check...
The non-joy of graduating college is being stuck at home with dial-up haha. At least there's like three wireless spots nearby I can haul my laptop to. Pity they're not open late enough to watch Giri Gir Morning live :(
Many many many chapters before that scene. And he'll still call him that in public anyway. But we shall all hail Lord Yukimura forever!!! XD I also like it when they say Captain Yagyuu, Sage Yanagi, and General/Commander Sanada. The aura of power!!!
I want my own classroom too :( I don't mind substituting (did it in May), but yeah... stability is good. I think mine expires in seven years (since I just got it this year). Sub teaching is not subject specific here... You can register for up to 10 districts and then you check the website and hope you're lucky enough to take a pick at an assignment. If teachers suddenly call in in the morning, then the phone system will call you, explain to you the assignment, and ask if you want to accept. I tended to be fairly lucky - was able to keep picking MS/HS Math and Science classes since I'm very good with those subjects.
Anime Expo July 2013 it is! XD And we can take pictures on the tennis courts!!
Awwww.... You look fantastic as Kirihara! Lots of BA for sure. And took a quick look at some of your other cosplays.... SOREN OMFG. The costume was well-made and it suited you quite well! I feel like if I went FE cosplaying, I'd be Seth. Because Seth is love.
And extremely extremely attractive to meAlthough, I'd totally be into Soren the more complicated outfit.I'm definitely too short to be Sanada, but oh well lol. I'll still Tarundoru as well as he can. XD My personality is a fusion of Sanada intensity/perfectionist + Yagyuu seriousness/politeness + Yanagi witticism + Atobe's confidence.
Or, at least, that's how I can sum it up best^^ *hugs* Yup, definitely on there. It's one of the few on there since I'm extra picky about what I read (have to manage my time). I'm very excited to read it since I know nothing (yet) about the series. And yeah, I'm very happy to hear that you are having fun writing 'cause that's really the best part!
Hmm, I don't think you directed me to links so I thank you for that! Ahhh - new stuff makes me happy :)
YUS! I'm glad I was able to help you to write more. Yay!
Just hopped onto the characters page of the first link and I deem Earth to be my favorite for both personality and looks. The Judgement Knight also seems like he would become one of my favorite characters. And possibly the Moon Knight and Leaf Knight.
Re: My message is just as long...
Date: 2011-09-21 04:57 am (UTC)How did the rice thing come about for Kane anyway? I've seen some parodies on nico nico about that, but I didn't understand it very well. :3 (also, do you know why he's called Mr. Tenimyu...?) How fun to have personal headcanon across your fics! :D
I would love to experience teaching overseas, but I'm not very exploratory and don't think I'd want to do it on a long-term basis. Something short might be worth looking into though for me. :)
My interest is in second language learning actually, which I get to sort-of teach since the student population in my area is predominantly made up of second language learners. I wonder sometimes if I should have tried entirely for something second language focused. Teaching younger kids is such a daunting task at times! But I like teaching younger kids more than the middle school range, which I don't have too much experience with (but I did substitute a few times with middle school too). I've never tried high school before. I wonder what that'd be like! Sometimes I feel like I'm still a high schooler myself.
Yukimura and Sanada in formal attire... I can't quite recall where that was from! I have some new Prince of Tennis kanzenban volumes I plan on scanning though, and they have lots of Hyoutei goodiness. ;)
Ahh, dial-up. I haven't used dial-up in so long, I'm not sure I can imagine the speed of dial-up...
Captain Yagyuu has such a nice ring to it. ;) Aura of power indeed!
Oh, seven years. That's a good amount of time, but hopefully you won't need to have any fear of expiring credentials. :) Your substituting system sounds like mine! I'm not in the high school districts (only doing elementary/middle school). For middle school, I've only substituted mostly English (but somehow English teachers always have a few Social Studies periods they teach too).
Anime Expo 2013, whoot! I doubt I'd have a Tenipuri cosplay (My Rikkai jacket isn't in very good shape anymore, and I never did make their long pants or short sleeves jersey!). I always had to wear my jacket zipped up, and I always had to wear just the shorts. XD; But let's definitely meet up if we both end up going! \o/
I see you found my Soren pics! XD; I loved cosplaying Soren so much. Soren's was my first outfit I made completely by scratch on my own, and trying to channel Soren was a lot of fun. <3 I met some Fire Emblem cosplayers that year. Mostly Ikes, and chatted a while with an Elincia. Seth would require you to make armor. :3 I haven't figured out how to make armor yet! Mages have it easier since it's just flowy material, hehe.
Hey, if you can pull off his personality well, you'll be an awesome Sanada. ;) (Now, if you're a Sanada who sometimes does imitations of Yanagi or Yagyuu or Atobe, I'll giggle like mad).
Bittersweet Sweetness is fairly different from my usual writing... since it's all in 1st person! I hope it doesn't disappoint for whenever you get around to it. ;)
I'm currently pretty obsessed with Legend of the Sun Knight, so I am not-so-secretly hoping I'll manage to get you interested in it. XD;
Judgment Knight is awesome! I think he might be someone you'd like. (His clothing and haircut also reminded me a lot of Soren! His personality doesn't though, haha).
Re: My message is just as long...
Date: 2011-09-21 03:58 pm (UTC)He's called Mr. Tenimyu because he's been in more productions than anybody else (Aiba comes pretty close though, but there has been more than one Fuji). There has been no other Sanada because he IS Sanada XD And possibly because he's older than almost all of them (especially around Final Match, which I believe was when that term came into existence, but not used on stage until DL7th). Some of the Giri Giri Mornings, they poke fun by calling him Otou-san. But not a show goes by without either him or somebody saying 'Tarundoru'!
I'm the same way about the exploratory thing! I think I just like sticking to what is familiar, but don't mind exploring a bit when the chance comes up.
Middle school is so.... dramatic. More nowadays than before (is that was possible). I like middle school band at least because they're far enough in their playing to play some good music, but they still have some of that initial music excitement. I just feel it's the perfect time to really get them on board w/ the music thing. Plus, being in a group where they feel they belong to something welcoming and great can make a world of difference. As for high school, I'm a marching band geek - I would love and love to teach it (and be busy all of the time lol). I just have a mind for massive organization and demanding perfection. And high school music literature is just <3
I've done a few sub elementary classes and they weren't bad by any means. I just have a tough time being more "cutesy"? with the kids because I never grew up around them. And I'm probably too serious when I'm not as comfortable lol.
I LOVE HYOUTEI GOODIES. Can't wait!
5KB/s - max speed. 1MB typically takes 1-3min. 10MB ranges around 20-35min (most YouTube videos are around that size).
Captain Yagyuu is chivalrous. And dashingly handsome! And can own your soul with a lance!!
There's a lot of that condensing two subjects into one thing going on. But I find Social Studies pretty interesting and I've always liked English. Saw a job open up, but they wanted a band teacher + foreign language teacher and I was like "Darn it!" *le sigh*
Meeting up sounds like a plan! You can take the pictures!! :D And show me around and everything!
I know.... Seth would require armor T.T But Seth is just <3 <3 <3 And Geoffrey's RD armor is <3.
If I was going to be a mage, I would be Soren the complicated version. Because I just love the coloring of his clothes so much!
Now that you mention it, maybe I'll imitate them just to incite a reaction out of you ;)
Ooo... 1st person! That should be interesting since I've hardly read any first person :)
XD I think I've been interested in looking into it from the chapters you had been putting up, but I never got around to it until now. And yes, Judgement Knight seems to be super awesome (and yes, I thought Soren about him as well!). And I like his name a lot. Suddenly reminds me of Tales of Symphonia and the spell Judgement... I get happy chills every time English-speaking Kratos casts it. XDDDD
Re: My message is just as long...
Date: 2011-09-22 12:51 am (UTC)Ah, I was under the impression that Aiba was in the most productions! But this was probably a while back before newer shows were included in the count too. Giri Giri Morning sounds fun. :D
Dramatic is one way to sum up middle school. I like the lower elementary grades for a similar reason to why you like middle school band. They're so eager to learn, and so excited about getting to read and such. Upper elementary also has its perks since students are readier for more challenging things, though it's a bit sad that some students are already losing their interest in learning by this point (this is very dependent on what teachers they've had). It's wonderful that students in band get to be part of something where they feel like they belong and can make a difference! :D
Haha, I have a problem with the tone I adopt for different grade levels. Cutsey tones make me tired, while I tend to become more robotic when teaching higher grades. I need to find a balance!
Eeek, your internet speed is what I'd expect of mine if it were on the verge of stopping. I'm glad you have some wifi spots you can frequent!
I'm not too familiar with LA itself, but I can definitely show you around the convention since I've been going for a few years! Though I have no idea if they'll change locations for 2013. If they do, then I'll be just as lost. XD;
I don't know how armor is supposed to be made. I've never tried before! I made Ike's POR outfit for my brother... *digs around for pics (here they are!) but didn't have to do any armor for that. Seth and Geoffrey would both require armor! XD; Soren's complicated version? Do you mean his PoR outfit, or his archsage outfit?
Haha, I would laugh a lot if you imitated all of those characters while cosplaying Sanada. XD
Ah, Tales of Symphonia! Yup, "Judgment" always makes me think of ToS too because of Kratos and that spell of his. :) Now since I'm so addicted to LSK, I mostly only think of Judgment as the Judgment Knight. XD; There are also other knights that reminded me of names from other places first, like "Cloud" Knight. Sure made me think of Final Fantasy VII first. ;)
Re: My message is just as long...
Date: 2011-09-22 01:51 am (UTC)For some odd reason, I just want it badly... more than most other fandom things I've wantedMaybe because it's Kane and it sounds hilarious XDGiri Giri is lovable and pretty darn hilarious. I only wish I understood more of what is going on. But yeah, the trio of Kane - Baba- Kento Ono is fantastic!
I feel that if I was teaching another subject, I would like the lower grades a bit more for the same reasons you do :) It's very exciting to hear that you're so passionate about learning in general. I've met quite a few teachers (or want-to-be teachers) that are not in it for the right reasons and that's depressing :(
It's the first time in five years where I've had to deal w/ dial-up for more than three months. 'Cause my university had wifi and so did my apartment. Lol.
Then we shall be lost together! XD
*looks at pictures* !!!!! The costumes are just so well done! EEEEEE!!!! The Path of Radiance one that I used for FE!Yanagi.
I can't picture his archsage outfit in my head right nowI'll even do an imitation of Yukimura for you too! I love making people laugh :)
He is so much boss when he casts Judgement. REST IN PEACE SINNERS! But my favorite moves to use with him are Grave and Thunder Blade just to hear him say it and also for the powerful noise effects it makes. I'm always so sad when he's gone part of the game! Even if it is plot-essential gah. And I wish Yuan was a playable character.
Ahahaha - Cloud. Amazing. :D
---> About Kane, Captain of East Honmoku... He doesn't say too much in it nor does he shoot the basketball, but when he does talk, it's either really charmingly funny or manly!Sanada roaring. XD
Re: My message is just as long...
Date: 2011-09-23 02:49 am (UTC)That sounds like a fantastic trio for Giri Giri... I should try to catch it sometime! I've only caught one live (radio) show from nico nico for KENN and Morikubo Shoutarou. It's hard to catch something live. XD; I should make use of their recording system. I think they allow us to record and watch it once.
That's the joy of lower grades! :)
Thank you about the costumes! :D I'm glad Ike doesn't have armor in his POR outfit, though he does have that chest armor... thing? No idea what to call that, but I just made it out of leather. I like all three of Soren's outfits. His archsage outfit looks quite cool. It's a palish green, I think, very light colored unlike his other outfits. There's no official art of it though, just in game shots...
Sanada doing an imitation of Yukimura!?? XD;
Ahhh, Yuan would have been awesome to have as a playable character. :)
I can't wait to see Kane in the Dear Boys musical. I haven't actually seen any of his roles outside of Tenimyu, so this will be a treat!!
This is fun!
Date: 2011-09-23 05:32 am (UTC)Somebody has been putting up videos of Giri Giri on the tenimyutopia community if you want to watch past ones. They're all quite hilarious. #1 has the funniest "Petenshi" corner (I think). #5 has Charades (or what they call 'Gestures') and that was a ton of fun too. #6 also has Round 2 of Charades/Gestures.
Basically, you can't go wrong with themI'm not very familiar with Nico nico so I don't know about their recording system. And unfortunately, no one else records any of the other Tenimyu-actor shows (but thank Kami no Ko that Giri Giri is recorded for the poor dial-up soul that is I!)
Speaking of leather, I just really really really want the Rikkai leather wristbands. More than almost anything. I just can't sew anything T.T But it's on my to-do list to find someone who could make me a pair when I have the money!
You know, the archsage outfit is coming back in my memory.... sorta. Now I need to put in the game and see tomorrow. I think Sothe looks super sweet in his coat, but no official art has him in that.
Poor Kirihara got stuck w/ the super midriff outfitBut Yanagi does give him the coat in a later chapter ;)Yuan is so.... conflicted. He's the Snape of ToS!!! Well, so is Kratos. It's probably why I like them both so much! XD And the fact they're magic sword wielders + angels. *flails*
Might I recommend something to you?
http://yes-asia.livejournal.com/7918.html#cutid1
The Shinjuku movie w/ KenKen, Kane, Mamo, and Kawai in it. The storyline is a bit fast (and a little choppy in places), but it's quite endearing and funny... and a bit crazy silly. Plus it has little kids in it! It's personally one of my favorite things I've seen.
Re: This is fun!
Date: 2011-09-24 12:57 am (UTC)Those shows sure sound like a lot of fun. I'll have to dig around tenimyutopia! I've seen mentions of it a lot but haven't actually gotten into the shows.
There seems to be quite a few shows by Tenimyu actors about now? I'm not good at catching them. XD; It's great Giri Giri is being recorded. *___*
Oh, Rikkai leather wristbands! I didn't have that for my cosplay. XD; But that sounds like something you could find someone to make. :)
I don't remember Sothe's outfit much other than the one that shows his midriff, haha... (poor Kirihara =P )
Ah, huh, I can see the comparison of being the Snape of ToS. XD; Magic sword wielders plus angels. Can't go wrong with that!
That Shinjuku movie sounds fascinating. *____* (And it has Kawai in it, eeeeee!!) Okay, I'm definitely watching this sometime.
Re: This is fun!
Date: 2011-09-24 02:53 am (UTC)I haven't gotten into any of them save Giri Giri because I am unable to stream video. I really want to see at least one of Boogie Woogie Night (Kato Kazuki, Yagami Ren, Kime). That just seems like it would be interesting. Btw, there is one called "Mmm... Ecstasy" LOL.
I want to wear leather wristbands everywhere. It would be boss lol. And for sure playing tennis in them XD
The coat one does show his midriff, but not as much. And it has long sleeves verses his sleeveless vest. Yanagi gets him the coat for the approaching winter (class promotion!). Poor Jackal is stuck with the sleeveless outfit look during the winter though. Maybe Marui could get him a coat too? :D
But Boyd has those spiked shoulder pads if I remember right...?Will check on that later.I didn't know you liked Kawai? :D Loved him seeing Gekokujou and being Hiyoshi. Ended up loving him more while watching the movie 'cause 1) He dresses all formal the entire movie and 2) His cold, 'I don't want anything to do with this even though I keep getting involved' personality is <3

Date: 2011-09-19 04:27 am (UTC)Yes! I think the crossover Layton vs AA is going to be released in English. There are strong hints about it! Since Capcom referred to the game as Layton versus Ace Attorney instead of Layton versus Gyakuten Saiban.
