Bakuman anime, new manga

It has begun!!! KLAD;SFJA;

The opening is really...calm. The opening that came before that for the hero show drawn by Saiko's uncle made me think I was watching the wrong thing, hahaha (and it's sung by Hironobu Kageyama of Cha La Head Cha La fame). It was all fiery and hotblooded and everything. This totally makes me hope that they'll do an opening sequence for Crow. That would be beyond awesome. The song for the hero show started playing during the classroom scene with Saiko and Takagi...lol. I was reminded of the Steel Samurai BGM.

I don't know how people who aren't already a fan of the series would like this show, but I'm excited. I'll definitely be following this. <3

Mm, I also bought some new manga this week. Otomen volume 11, DNAngel volume 14, Yankee-kun to Megane-chan volume 19, and Battery volume 8. I just started Otomen volume 11 and was a bit lost because it's been a while since volume 10. XD; They were all dressed as samurai (the key to being a samurai is to be an otomen, lawl)! It has been forever since DNAngel volume 13, but the cover for volume 14 is quite cute. Yankee Megane is still going on about preparing for the college entrance exams, and these past volumes have shown me that Shinagawa is truly the main character while we don't get to see as much about Adachi, but this volume looks like it touches a bit more on Adachi's past. I haven't read Battery since volume 3, so it'll take me a bit before I read volume 8. XD

That opening also confused me too, but then it was so weird that I figured it couldn't be anything but his uncle's show! It looked kind of funny |D I liked that song better than the actual OP! It was too... calm and romantic-y shoujo-like, which, you know, is fine for shoujo things, but I wanted something fiery and manga-oriented |D It makes me wonder if they're really going to play up the romance angle, or what~ But either way, I'm looking forward to watching more of it, just not as much as I look forward to reading more of it 8D

I wanted to check if the singer of his uncle's show was the singer of all those DBZ songs, but when I paused the opening, the opening was coincidentally zoomed in one someone's crotch. OTL

But that opening looked funny and the song was quite upbeat. XD The actual opening is really romantic. I wasn't expecting it! It's very slow and mellow...more of what I'd expect an ending song to be like. I think I've seen shoujo openings that are more upbeat than this one. |D

I wonder about the romance angle too. Maybe it'll be played up, since Miyoshi was quite prominent in the opening too. :O

Haha, but man, they sure got some funny expressions in this episode already. XD

Im excited for this anime! I don't follow the manga butg I definitely can't wait to watch ittt~!!

Though I'm looking forward to Bezzlebub which won't be an anime until next season :(

The first episode was pretty faithful to the manga! I think you'll like the partnership between the two main characters. :D

Aw, then next season you'll have even more to look forward to. Tegami Bachi reverse has started too, right? ;laskdfa I still need to watch the last five episodes of the first season!!

I really enjoyed the first episode! It's pretty much what I expected from the anime, haha. Gotta admit the OP really caught me off guard too though. I like Kobukuro's songs, but when I heard they were doing the OP, I knew I wasn't going to get my EXPLOSIVE OPENING SEQUENCE ;(

Still, definitely looking forward to seeing how it goes! And hoping that Hiramaru makes it in sometime.

I always look forward to Bakuman each week. Now it'll be even better with the anime to look forward to. 8D The opening isn't suspenseful at all, but I hope the episodes themselves will be keeping me on my toes.

I hope Hiramaru makes it in!! I'm wondering how far the anime will go. :x

Haha Asuka and Tonomine make a great team. Otomen is another one of those series where I like all the characters. They are all really different personality-wise. :)

I really wish they'd all figure out that Tachibana is the mangaka, but I bet it'll never happen. XD; (Or if it does, no one will make a big deal out of it)

Yup, I do! I've been following it since...the first volume. XD; I used to rent it from a Chinese bookstore. I rented the first volume so many times that I really should have bought myself a copy right from the beginning.

It has been a loooong time. When did the first volume start? Mine was the Chinese edition, so it might have come out a bit later, but it was still a long time ago. I'm surprised she can take so many breaks from DNAngel but still continue it. Other series just get dropped altogether? Not sure how this works. :3

Definitely! At least vol14 and vol13 aren't that far apart in terms of release. I haven't read Ascribe to Heaven before. I wonder what it's about. :O
