Happy holidays everyone!

Yuletide fics are live~. I managed to finish the treat I was working on super last minute (it doubled in length) and posted it right around when the fics were about to go live. I realized I didn't even have a title so came up with one just as I was about to post. The result was a title that's very similar to another fic of mine, whoops, when these stories aren't even from the same fandom. Interesting what my mind defaults to.

I stayed up to read my gift but haven't gotten about to reading any other fics yet. I received a lovely story about Azazel and Mugaro~

Vow So Deep (1170 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: 神撃のバハムート | Shingeki no Bahamut | Rage of Bahamut (Anime)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Azazel (Shingeki no Bahamut), Rita (Shingeki no Bahamut), Mugaro | El
Summary:

I vow these boughs will never break.
Azazel discovers himself attached.

The other day, I wrote up some rambling thoughts about some anime I'm currently watching, but like everything I do lately, I just let that sit around... Now I have to update it given the new episodes that have already happened since, pft.

For the first two weeks of August, I went off to Taiwan~. Been back from the trip for around a week (busy busy trying to settle in with work and catch up with stuff). It's been 17 years since I've traveled there. Boy, do I remember very little of Taiwan. Some things haven't changed though, while some stuff has changed a lot. But what's different about this trip is that I had places and events I wanted to cram in, with a shorter stay than any of my previous trips to Taiwan, so it was a trip with a super full itinerary. Went out bright and early every day and didn't get home until around 11 pm every night. Walked my feet off. XD There was no rest at all. I became very familiar with the public transit. I also got to see my relatives who I haven't seen in just as long as I haven't been back to Taiwan. 17 years!! (I was so tiny back then.)

Stuff I bought from Anime Expo!

Day 1, I spent a good chunk of my time lining up for Yamamato Sayo and Kubo Mitsurou's autograph, while Days 2-3 were spent on trying to attend panels (and often failing). Day 4 was my shopping day! I wrote up some notes on the panels that I did get to attend, so I'll at least be posting about those.

Got myself another Arslan Senki poster. o/ My favorite one is the one shown on the box though. Haven't come across that one yet. Arslan looks gentler there~.

More on Fanime, starting with the rest of the stuff I bought~. Quite a shopping trip this year. XD

Arslan Senki poster was from Friday's swap meet~

Expandclose ups )

I find it very cool that Fanime has official photographers. :D They've also already uploaded photos! Here are some that I was in.

Re:Zero gathering on Friday
All I can say is that the photographers pretty much asked the cosplayers to do the dab at every gathering I went to. I was the Emilia on the right.

Shounen Jump Sunday Gathering
I was Kayano on Sunday, and I was very much hoping there would be a Koro-sensei around. There was! *____*

Shounen Jump girls beating Mineta from My Hero Academia. A specific request. XD;;

The albums have a ton of pictures from all the gatherings, if anyone's interested in what cosplays there were at Fanime this year. o/

I might do another post with cosplay pics of other people and some thoughts on events I went to. If I get around to it.

BTW, I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy v2 yesterday, and let me tell you, I cried buckets. ;__; (I'm quite pleased to see many Yondu fics crop up in the fandom though. All my feels.)

I've changed my layout on livejournal because I can no longer make changes to what the comment links look like with my account level, so I ended up with a lot of broken images with that layout. This one is clean enough, I suppose, though it also means that commenting will bring you to livejournal's default pages. Boo. Oh well, it's functional, if not pretty.

Fanime Day 0

Fanime is here~. Badge pick up was beautiful. Walked in and walked out. It was so quick that I didn't even get a good look at what the registration area looked like. There were several scanning stations for us to scan our QR codes, and then our badges were printed out to the side. Done. I hope it's like this next year too!

I swung by Swap Meet after that and found bought stuff~. Never thought I'd see the Hikaru no Go PS Heian game. I watched a play through of that many years ago. It's an amusing game. XD Also got myself clearfiles of Kimi to Boku (I'm loving the one with the twins and Kaname all with glasses) and Seiyuu Ka, a poster of Sai from Naruto, a Gyakuten Saiban fanbook with CD, and a Gyakuten Saiban postcard book. Never thought I'd see something of Seiyuu Ka around.

ExpandSoJ case 5 )
I'm considering signing up for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide this year. I first started participating in 2006 as a pinch hitter (I believe this was the fic, and I've participated every year since then until 2013. I didn't participate in 2014 because of traveling to Japan during December, and then I skipped 2015 as well. Would be lovely to participate again (and exercise my oneshot writing muscles). :) I made a list of what I might request and offer, but I'll have to give it some more thought.

Recently, I've been playing Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice. Bought it the day after it was released. It's awesome to see all the characters again, and I love that we're getting more about Apollo. I was hoping Dual Destinies would cover his background more, but it didn't, really. SoJ seems to remedy that. Whether I'll like his new background remains to be seen, but at least we're getting it!

I wouldn't mind if Phoenix wasn't in the game, haha. Whenever I'm faced with Phoenix's sections, I find myself wanting the game to head back to Apollo. :') So, I am pleasantly surprised that Apollo does indeed have quite the focus in this game.

A belated post about all the stuff I bought in Japan. I bought... a lot. XD;;; (How did all of this fit in my luggage? Good question...)

All the Prince of Tennis stuff I bought. Really amazing how Prince of Tennis is still popular with so much merchandise. I guess the merchandise will keep the series going. Even though I'm not currently following Shin Tenipuri, I'm still buying the merchandise. :'D;; I won the huge towel from a UFO catcher. :3;; (It is now hanging on my wall.)

Hm, what to work on before my spring break is over... Rule 20 or the last part of 39 LSK first? Hopefully both before my spring break ends. |D;; (Maybe I'll even finally write up my reports for my conventions from last year, haha)

I'd like to update some of my fics too, OTL. Maybe it's time to take a dartboard out and see which one to work on first, pfft. I can't choose anymore. (New fics are always too shiny...) Endings are hard. Plot is hard. Writing is hard, hahaha. :'D Sometimes I really wish stories would just write themselves and then I can just read the end product... It seems I don't really write when I'm not stressed, pffft. Why, inspiration. Why do you only hit me when I'm busy? At least I was able to write the collab fic. |D;;

(Kiyutsuna is killing me with her drawings of the dress for A Slice of Wedding Cake. XDDD;)

Oh, I finished reading Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai (The World God Only Knows). ;___; Always sad to see a series end, but the ending made me glad. ♥ It probably didn't make a lot of people happy, and it felt rushed, but I thought it was the most developmentally fulfilling ending there could be.

Expandmore thoughts )

Recently, I started reading a manga called Shishunki Bitter Change where a boy and a girl end up swapping bodies when they were in elementary. It's pretty fascinating (though I'm wary of the ending because I browsed the web version this is based off of. Hopefully the ending will be less abrupt for this version). Yuuta and Yui have to pass off as each other. One is exuberant while the other is fairly withdrawn. One has a happy family while the other has a cold one. But the driving force of this manga isn't actually Yuuta and Yui getting used to being each other... Rather it's having to grow up as each other, and missing out on things they thought they'd have been doing, having to change their dreams of the future because of the uncertainty of whether or not things will stay this way, or if they will be able to change back... Most definitely a bitter change...

Oh, and this is all over the place now, but GYAKUTEN SAIBAN SET IN THE MEIJI ERA? Bring it ooooon.

November stuff

Congratulations, [livejournal.com profile] absolutehymn007, [personal profile] darkicedragon, [livejournal.com profile] slashed_dream, [livejournal.com profile] nitaspitas, [livejournal.com profile] seta_suzume, [livejournal.com profile] yoshikochan, [livejournal.com profile] oriaon, and [livejournal.com profile] flonnebonne (did I miss anyone?? so many of you finished ♥) for surviving through November and reaching over 50k! Amazing!! *____* And for everyone who attempted NaNo, give yourself a pat on the back. ;) I am just super impressed. ^____^

November really went by in a flash for me. I haven't gotten much writing done. I was quite late with translations this month too (I finally managed to plow through all of PR's chapters for the month last weekend, phew). I also released two chapters of Kimi to Boku over at Chocobanana Scanlations this month, but things are still going at quite a slow pace. Hopefully it'll be picking up now that I've roped someone else into being our task manager. ;) (I am really no good at keeping track of more than one translation group, haha...)

On the game front, I finished Ace Attorney 5! (But not the DLC case yet). I'll blab more about the game after I finish the DLC. :3;; But for now, my thoughts are mostly that it felt really short! I also already knew who the main culprit was going to be (spoiled myself with the artbook), so that took a little of the excitement out of the last case. ^^;; Blackquill really grew on me. I ended up liking him quite a lot. So far, the DLC case has been fun, but I wish I could've played it before Case 4. It would've made more sense chronologically.

On the movie front, I watched Catching Fire and Frozen this month. Both made me cry. Yeah, both of them. T___T ExpandRead more... )

On the writing front, I don't think I'm going to get any writing done for my WIPs until I exorcise this plunny I have for the Pope (LSK, yet again). So, yeah. Hopefully I can actually finish writing this "oneshot" (please let it stay a nice, short, oneshot) about the Pope's younger years. It'll be named Fifteen Going on Sixty. Or maybe... Sixty Going on Fifteen... I haven't decided the order yet. XD Or maybe I'll just mush it together and say, "Fifteen Going on Sixty Going on Fifteen." XD;; That'll solve my naming problems...
I wish I had more time to write. ;___; Work is slaying me. I'm feeling very unsuccessful and overwhelmed at the moment. Guh.

Heads up to anyone looking into buying LSK - Manhua bundle 9 is now in stock at Kingstone. Bundle 9 includes Rule 17 and Rule 18, a short story about Metal called "Knife Blade," a card of chibi Storm, and a clear orange envelope.

Yu Wo held a Halloween contest where people post pictures of her novels and state who their favorite character is, followed by a short reason (I chose Adair and wasn't the only one~). The winners receive a copy of Book Writer. Unfortunately, I didn't win, haha, but it was really fun seeing all the answers.

Here are translations of two new plurks from the Neo & Aldrizzt side story.

I finished Case 2 of Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies. On Case 3 now! The cases feel very disjointed so far, especially since I've played as 3 different characters, a different lawyer per case. Athena actually feels like the main character to me as opposed to either Phoenix or Apollo. I am quite happy to see Klavier again. I was going to turn my game off and rest when he showed up, and of course I had to keep on playing, haha. I'm somewhat amused that he has just become a helpful prosecutor (well, not like he wasn't already helping out in Apollo Justice, but it seems that helping out during investigations might be his only role in this game). I guess we won't be going against him in court. ): Though, I feel that many characters have been reduced to a small role, such as Trucy too... Welp, can't have everything. I'll see what I think after I actually finish the game. Things usually come together later. XD; (I am loving Apollo's hints about a friend of his from school. Yay for possible background on Apollo! And, and, Klavier talking about his mentor in pursuing truth. *___* Also, the genderbending in case 3, hahahaha. Wow)
I got myself Pokemon Y (it's really cute), but I haven't gotten very far in the game. Now that Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies is out, I'll be setting Pokemon aside for a bit, haha.

So far, I've finished the first case. I'm on the second case! Oh gods, the music. <3333 I'm really in love with it, even more so after hearing these tunes live at Japan Expo. The anime cutscenes are really awesome. The voices seem pretty cool.

Yu Wo has been plurking some sneak peeks at something she's writing! I wonder what this is from?!!! A new side story, maybe? Wait, don't tell me this is one of the promised side stories from the end of the year prompt gathering thing... XD;; (It's only been 10 months, haha!) I will be happy if it is. The second place winner was indeed about Neo and Aldrizzt's adventures, the "We are not the Dark Human Squad" one, hahahaha, so I think these excerpts are from that side story! Third place was... Emperor, I think? About Liaula from Kill No More. *___* Post series. I am reaaally hoping "Flying Daggers" (about Fox from 1/2 Prince) will get written too, but I doubt it will get written... with it being 4th... ;__;

Expandtranslation of the plurks )

XDDD!! Oh, I can't wait to read this. (Just reading these excerpts make me want to work on Invincible again...)
Purchased some stuff yesterday. Now to wait for them to come to me. *rubs hands gleefully* Bought myself the the 9th LSK bundle, the extra volume of the Human Doll Contract verse (Kiyutsuna pointed out that the golden haired guy is most likely Grisia klajsdfla;sdjf;a; I didn't even notice), 1/2 Prince manhua volume 14 (I couldn't tell who the characters on the cover were, but most likely Winter Triumph and Nan Gong Zui? ...You know what, I still have no clue), and more volumes of Detective Conan, haha... Only Japanese manga I buy the Taiwanese version of now, since my parents also read it! Otherwise, all my other manga, I usually buy in Japanese now.

I'm really curious about the Detective Conan light novels. I wonder if they're any good. :3; Tempting...

Parallelsfic works are live! \o\ I have a total of one fic in the collection this time, and I am not very anonymous, hahaha. I received a lovely Haikyuu fic~. Reveals are on the 22nd!

Next weekend is Japan Expo! It's the first time the convention will be held around here. I'm super excited because there are some great guests attending. I'm especially interested in Kozaki Yusuke who did character designs for Fire Emblem Awakening and Iwadare Noriyuki who did music for Ace Attorney, Lunar, and Grandia~. I'm so going to bust out my FE:A Henry cosplay and my Maya cosplay. XD; Hopefully the gatherings for the two series are on different days! Must bring some stuff to get signed~

Everyday, Crunchyroll has something on sale. Today, it was a 1/8 scale model of Echizen Ryoma from Prince of Tennis. Congrats, CR, you have just made me throw down money for my first big model, ahhhhhhhh. (I usually go for the cute small ones instead) But look at how sassy he is!

One day, I still want to get one of Kurama.
