When I went to find the new Higamyu, I found that the Dear Boys musical was being shared too! *___* I never thought I'd get to see it.
The musical adapted the series pretty well. I'm surprised that they really did do all the basketball scenes...because man, they have to dribble the ball, play out a pre-scripted game, and shoot tons of baskets on stage. @___@; That must have taken tons of practice. They did have this box thing that they threw the basketball in for harder shots. XDDD It lights up and everything.
Ahaha, I'm entirely unused to seeing females onstage. Anzaki's actress had a nice voice. Himuro-sensei was pretty good too, though one had to wonder why she was around since there's no girl basketball team in the musical. XD;
Aizawa was quite perky, though he didn't actually get a lot more stage time than the others, so I didn't really get the feel that he's the main character. Well, except for the songs when everyone's singing about how he's bringing a wind of change. XD; Otherwise, Miura actually gets to start a lot of songs, and Fujiwara gets to be mopey all over the place. I don't care much for the rival team, but Shimojo was pretty awesome despite how despising he is in the original.
I didn't recognize that Miura was Tenimyu's 3rd cast Tezuka until I watched the backstage video and he was trying on glasses. XDDD Is he a lefty? Since, he's always cast as a lefty character. He also mentioned on the website that other than Miura, he'd have liked to play Meiwadai's Yuuki Nozomi, who is also a lefty. Haha, Meiwadai is never going to be part of the musical though. That school hasn't even shown up much in the actual series.
I love Ishii's actor in that he says that he'd have liked to try out Shounan's Ayumi Fuse. Fuse~ ♥. Aizawa's actor says he'd have liked to try out Miura's part because the character is different from his normal personality. He really seems to be the cheerful type.
( tons of screencaps )There's going to be a Dear Boys vs. East Honmoku musical in July. I guess they're going to keep going. XD; East Honmoku is much funner than Narita Chuou.
