This was the last musical in the storyline for Tenipuri! I was practically grinning through the whole thing, but possibly this will only happen for Ryoma fans like me. XD; Because wow, this musical was full of Ryoma. It was Ryoma, Ryoma, and more Ryoma. Plus some rivals. And boy, do I love Ryoma's rivals (I'm a fan of almost all of them), so that made me grin even more. I'm very glad Ryuuki was the Ryoma for these last musicals. I didn't think he felt like Ryoma when I first saw him, but I've come to really like his voice, and the way he asks if tennis is fun amuses me to no end.

I died laughing. I think this DVD requires several decks over at [livejournal.com profile] twistserve_tcg, haha. XD; (Anyone capping this? ♥)

I didn't watch all the FGKS and On My Way performances (wow, they were sure performed for a lot of times), but each part would make a good deck. (I always think in terms of deck making lately...) I've always liked solos better than group songs like these, but it was cool hearing Ueshima talk about his thoughts behind the songs. *__*

My favorite is during the Minna de Asobou part where the five of them were imitating each other. XDDDD I was kind of dying over how each of them said Yagyuu's name (imitating Nakagauchi). Baba Ryouma's was pretty cool. The others... XDDD Actually, all of Baba Ryouma's imitations were pretty cool. "Mada mada dane" with his pinky sticking up, lol. Does Ryuuki really do that?

Oh man, the musical finished its run in March! You can watch the trailer here. There are also some cast interviews on that page. It looks like a cute musical. They have an orchestra too! I was wondering what exactly a La Corda d'Oro musical would be like...from the trailer, it looks like they're actually acting out the story. I wonder if the actors sing, or if it's all instrumental, classical music played by the orchestra? Lili has a double cast and is played by two young girls. I hope they have a DVD release of this! XD

I bought volume 14 of the manga a while back but I still haven't finished reading it. I used to keep up with all the latest chapters, but now I wait for the volume releases. :3 Ah, still need to buy the latest game...but La Corda d'Oro games are so much more involved than Gakuensai. XD; Requires planning, haha.

Look, Kinky! Ikuto does have that outfit that shows his stomach. XDDD I cannot believe KENN is wearing this.

I took caps as I watched. XD;; The musical had some short introductions in the beginning and then jumped right into the Black Diamond arc with Utau and the onidare CDs, ending with a bunch of character nari, so we get to see everyone in their transformed outfits. The musical is cute. The fight scenes aren't very impressive, but it's not like the fights in the original were all that drawn out in the first place. XD;;

Awesomeness, the DVD for the Shugo Chara musical is out~. I wanted to attend this when I went to Japan in August, but that thought was easily shot down by the group since none of them are interested in musicals. =P I haven't finished watching the Shugo Chara musical yet (must sleep...) but YAY for KENN with cat ears. I don't like Ikuto, the character he portrays, but maybe KENN will make me like him more. XD; KENN is...one of the oldest in the cast. Man, everyone else is so young. And so high pitched. The shugo chara are all...puppets. Kind of amusing. Amu takes a while to change into her Amulet Heart outfit, so everyone has to get beaten by the X characters, which sound like how they sound in the anime. Will watch the rest tomorrow, hopefully. I think by the end everyone will have their character transformation. Frilly clothes for Tadase...pirate outfit for Ikuto? Do want to see KENN in that.

one more pic of KENN )
After watching the Shitenhouji musical and going back to the Hyoutei one...Hyoutei sure feels a lot more serious than Shitenhouji.

It was difficult not to make comparisons with the other version of the Hyoutei musical that I just watched this week. My overall impressions from this cast were that this Ryoma isn't very snarky. He just feels reticent. His English sounds pretty good though. Tezuka doesn't quite fit the image (he's so slim!) but his voice is deep! Inui gives me a less goofy, more no nonsense type of feel. As for Hyoutei, I find I miss Atobe and Kabaji from the other cast the most. This Atobe doesn't quite have that presence and authority.

some highlights )

No more musicals for me tonight. I must focus on writing something for [livejournal.com profile] 30_kisses!
I probably should have watched a musical with the 5th cast since they'll be the ones in the Rikkaimyu...oh well. Next on my list. I need to go back and finish Higamyu too! And the 2nd Dear Boys musical. Ahaha, I've accumulated so many musicals...

Mm, Shitenhouji is just hilarious. Gosh, Seigaku was singing very seriously "One more step!!" and there Shitenhouji started singing, "Shiten-ho-ho-ho-ji." They're too funny. ♥

I entirely have to agree now that Fuji ALWAYS gets a part. A good part too.

some highlights )
I'm totally confused with what casting is which, but this was the Tokyo Gaisen Kouen one, where Konomi-sensei showed up at the end! (With the announcement of the new Tenipuri manga. Luke was so moved!) This was certainly a long one. I started watching it before, but I stopped in the middle for some reason and never got back to it until now. I need to catch up before going to Tenimyu in Japan. Rikkai match!! :3 I think my showing is the A cast...I hope so, since I want to see Baba Toru.

this is still sooo random )

Hm, I wonder if I should watch Imperial Presence B cast next...or should I move on to the Shitenhouji match? There are two casts for that too! *flails*

Or maybe I should rewatch Tenimyu from the start and screencap them all. XD;

fandom to-do list before Japan:
- write two chapters of Memories of the Future for [livejournal.com profile] 30_kisses (*flails* on the verge of getting dropped again!!)
- finish translating the rest of volume 3 of Kimi to Boku (it's so cute~)
- finish playing Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (on the last 5 chapters!)
- make a bunch of decks for [livejournal.com profile] twistserve_tcg
- update my manga list (it's so out of date...I better not buy repeats in Japan!)
- research doujinka who are going to show up at Comiket XDDD (I definitely at least want to buy Satoumizu's doujinshi!)
When I went to find the new Higamyu, I found that the Dear Boys musical was being shared too! *___* I never thought I'd get to see it.

The musical adapted the series pretty well. I'm surprised that they really did do all the basketball scenes...because man, they have to dribble the ball, play out a pre-scripted game, and shoot tons of baskets on stage. @___@; That must have taken tons of practice. They did have this box thing that they threw the basketball in for harder shots. XDDD It lights up and everything.

Ahaha, I'm entirely unused to seeing females onstage. Anzaki's actress had a nice voice. Himuro-sensei was pretty good too, though one had to wonder why she was around since there's no girl basketball team in the musical. XD;

Aizawa was quite perky, though he didn't actually get a lot more stage time than the others, so I didn't really get the feel that he's the main character. Well, except for the songs when everyone's singing about how he's bringing a wind of change. XD; Otherwise, Miura actually gets to start a lot of songs, and Fujiwara gets to be mopey all over the place. I don't care much for the rival team, but Shimojo was pretty awesome despite how despising he is in the original.

I didn't recognize that Miura was Tenimyu's 3rd cast Tezuka until I watched the backstage video and he was trying on glasses. XDDD Is he a lefty? Since, he's always cast as a lefty character. He also mentioned on the website that other than Miura, he'd have liked to play Meiwadai's Yuuki Nozomi, who is also a lefty. Haha, Meiwadai is never going to be part of the musical though. That school hasn't even shown up much in the actual series.

I love Ishii's actor in that he says that he'd have liked to try out Shounan's Ayumi Fuse. Fuse~ ♥. Aizawa's actor says he'd have liked to try out Miura's part because the character is different from his normal personality. He really seems to be the cheerful type.

There's going to be a Dear Boys vs. East Honmoku musical in July. I guess they're going to keep going. XD; East Honmoku is much funner than Narita Chuou.
edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention. [livejournal.com profile] kitsune_jade, I GOT YOUR PACKAGE!! Thank you so much. ♥ Where'd you find such a cool looking fishbone?? *_* It looks like it might be made out of a shell or something similar...actually reminds of white go stones. The little pouch and the cloth look very Christmas-y with the red and green. :D

This reminds me. I should start sending out international cards soon or else they won't get there on time. ^^
-----

Hahaha, I think my favorite song in this second Rikkai myu was "4年と2ヶ月と15日". *_* They can make a song out of everything, can't they? Anyway, I think I started grinning when Inui started singing that.

*jaw drops*

There's going to be a Dear Boys musical. Woah.

Here's the cast of the main five characters:

Aikawa, Taku, Miura, Ishii, and Dobashi, in that order from left to right. It's going to be Mizuho versus Narita Chuuou. Too bad I'm not too fond of Narita. ): I'd love to see any of the other rival teams instead...like East Honmoku or Shonan. It's going to show 12/20/07~12/29/07.

Here's the info page that came at the end of the volume 26 of Act II.

I'm really surprised. xD But yay for more Dear Boys stuff going on!

I love watching tenimyu. I was doing hw...but it was really quiet in my apartment. And I felt like listening to music. But I didn't have any music on my mom's laptop. Because, well, there is none. But I did have the latest tenimyu downloaded.

And so instead of hw, I distracted myself watching the Hyoutei musical. ^^;;

About the musical. =DDD Loved the Hyoutei cast. Only person that I didn't like that much was Jiroh, whose voice didn't sound as enthusiastic as it should be. At least to my ears. Or perhaps I'm biased because of Ueda Yuuji. XD;; Mm, poor Hiroshi. But at least he got a short song to himself, unlike the rest of Hyoutei minus Atobe. Still, the song about Ryoma and how he was at his best tension and that he's the prince of tennis was a nice song.

Wish KENN were in the official DVD, but Mizuki was cool too. :3 But I still squeeled when Kenn appeared in the extras. I'd thought that the extras already ended. What a treat.

There wouldn't ever be a Midoriyama musical, would there? Eh...of course not. But a tiny bit about Midoriyama glommed together with Rokkaku would be nice? I was trying to look at the ladder to see if it was Midoriyama who they'd let win...but I didn't quite catch it. But, they are following the manga more than the anime, right?

I support the rival characters much more than the Seigaku players in the musical. (*cough*KENN*cough*Konishi Hiroki*cough*) I want to see who's cast as the next rival players!

I want a Rikkai musical. *_* How long will I have to wait for that??

...I failed at NaNoWriMo.
