Latest manga I bought!

Dear Boys Overtime V2: I have V1 and V3 already, so this should complete my collection of Dear Boys. Never did I think the story would end up so long. XD I might be missing a volume from Season 3 though (not sure). I started collecting Dear Boys around 2003 when the anime (that was pretty badly animated, hahaha) aired. At first, I checked out the Dear Boys manga from the library (the library had all of Season 1), while I bought Season 2 as it was released. But then I went back and bought the bunkobon version of Season 1, because a collection that's missing an entire season isn't a collection! Even though I now have the entire series, I actually haven't read Season 3 yet. Season 2 was the one that had an arc that focused on Ayumi Fuse, my favorite character. I don't know if he shows up much in Season 3. XD I should finish reading the series sometime.

Oresama Teacher V24: I'm quite behind on reading this series too! Still hoping it'll get an anime~. Though, where I stopped reading, it was getting confusing with all of the new characters. I'll have to play catch up with this series too. I mean, a review on one of the fics I wrote in this fandom kind of told me that something happened in canon regarding a certain character's background. XD (I'm thankful they didn't spoil what it actually was~)

Buddy Go V8: The latest crossdressing manga I've been reading. XD It has all the usual cliches, haha. Girl crossdresses as a guy and forms a dancing unit with the guy she idolizes as a dancer.

Hattori Heiji x Tooyama Kazuha Fanbook: Whoa, a fanbook all about Heiji and Kazuha! I saw Kazuha first and was thinking that she looked a lot like Kazuha, and what do you know, it really is Kazuha. A fanbook all about her and her relationship with Heiji. Wow. (Conan is just there on the cover so we all know this is still Detective Conan, lol) I guess they're really being marketed now because of the 21st movie, The Crimson Love Letter, that focuses on them. The fanbook includes tidbits about them throughout the series, each chapter/episode they appear in, their character designs, their outfits, scenes from the movie drawn by Aoyama Gosho, and interviews. I like the interviews the best~. I read through two interviews so far, the one from Aoyama Gosho and the one from Heiji's and Kazuha's seiyuus. There's also an interview from Takayama Minami, several other seiyuus, and the director of the movie. Lots more to read. :3
Hi Yuletide writer!

First off, I apologize for the super long letter. Feel free to skip this entirely, as everything you need to know is already in my sign-ups! This is for...in case you are the type of writer who likes to know more. ;)

I hope this letter will be helpful for you rather than limiting! ♥ Please remember that optional details are optional, and let me tell you that I will be absolutely ecstatic to receive fic in any of the following tiny fandoms. Especially since these fandoms are so tiny that it's quite hard to fangirl about them (yet now I'll be receiving fic for one of them? amazing~!). My requests are all from manga this year, two shoujo and two shounen. I've provided information about each series in case you like to be adventurous.

To any passersby, I am very fond of treats. Yum. ;)

me pimping out NG Life, Usotsuki Lily, Double Arts, and Dear Boys )

Again, I apologize for the super long letter. Optional details are optional, and the same goes for the entire letter! If you read through all of this...props to you! Please remember to have fun and to take what you want out of this and ignore whatever else isn't helpful for you~. Some series prompts are longer than others only because I have more headcanon for them than for the other series, but I'm just as excited about all the series!
Oh dear. I think I'm doing worse than last year! I started 5 days late last year and was 8000 words or so behind because of that, so I tried my hardest to catch up every single day by writing at least 1,667 words a day and almost always more than that to shrink the gap. This year though, even though I haven't missed 5 days in a row, I haven't pushed myself to write 1,667 words a day either since I don't feel as pressured. Yet now... *watches the par line grow farther and farther away* It's not a good sign when the gap is slowly and steadily growing... and my calendar is littered with yellow boxes!

Story-wise, I find this year's a little harder to write because there's actually more of a plot that I'm trying to make work while I just rambled with whatever came to mind last year (making it so that even though I reached 50k last year, the story didn't really go anywhere, and nothing concluded in 50k...). I was so happy when one of the characters started saying stuff that I can so use later on. I poked at the epilogue for this year's NaNo a bit more yesterday too. The epilogue kind of makes me gleeful. I wonder if it counts as a cliffhanger, haha... Now, if only I could write all the in-between stuff and get around to the epilogue! (But watch, I end up writing stuff that contradicts the epilogue...)

I kind of realized that so far, there hasn't been a lot of fantastical elements in this story... it sure doesn't read like a fantasy story this year, even though this should also be counted as fantasy in addition to being young adult. o____o;;

Non Nano-related stuff
-new layout! OMG! After how many years? Five? I nuked my old layout since it wasn't working correctly anymore for some reason. I've been tweaking this layout for quite a bit, thought I wouldn't change my layout after all, but then decided to switch because the old layout stopped working. This one can still use some tweaking. I feel the font is too light for me, especially the bold. I can stare at the Twelve Holy Knights all day though. |D If anything doesn't display correctly for anyone, let me know! I've only used my own browser and computer to view this...

-[livejournal.com profile] yuletide nominations have closed! I can't wait until sign-ups open~. *refreshes the community* There are at least 5 fandoms nominated by other people that I'm interested in requesting myself. So hard to decide which one to pick from those as my fourth fandom! Maybe I need to resort to tossing the names in a hat. Or maybe I should choose two out of those five fandoms and drop one of the fandoms I nominated myself... /indecisive

-I tagged two of my fics on AO3 yesterday with Legend of Sun Knight - Yu Wo and 1/2 Prince - Yu Wo since I feel these two series should also show up in the books & literature section of AO3, especially since the light novels are the main (and more detailed) source while the manhua versions are based on that source. My LSK fics are also largely based on the novels instead of the manhua since the manhua isn't very far yet. I see that both fandoms now also show up in the books & literature section. This makes me happy! (perhaps I should've just contacted support about this to clarify that LSK and 1/2P are both novels as well as manhua)

-bought Prince of Tennis Kanzenban s2 v8 (Marui & Jackal on the cover, Momo & Kaidou on the inside flap, Marui inside, more Marui [private clothes], and preciouuuus Yanagi and Inui age 10, followed by Kaidou age 3, and Ryoma age 0. [with Nanjirou next to him] Still waiting for my store to stock v9 which features Yagyuu and Niou!!). Also bought GFantasy Nov (Kimi to Boku on the cover! KtB pencil and poster!), Magic Kaito Treasured Edition v2, PairPuri v10 (last volume!), Dear Boys v8, and Seiyuu Ka-! v7. I considered nominating Seiyuu Ka-! for Yuletide, but decided not to since scanlations aren't as far as what I'd like to request.
Dear Boys

Dear Boys...Act III???? I was randomly browsing a manga forum when I saw Dear Boys Act III as one of the future releases. I did not think Dear Boys was going to continue into another act. I haven't read the latest volumes yet...kind of not as motivated since Shounan is barely in the series anymore. I believe Act III is going to be about the finals. I wonder if there's anything after that. Over the summer, I'm so going to start with manga summaries of series that are probably never going to be licensed or scanlated.

Until Death do Us Part

I started reading this over the weekend clearly procrastinating. Quite fascinating. I like Haruka with black hair and glasses.

I'm still working on my final. D: When I come home tomorrow, I'm probably going to crash. I guess that means I only have Thursday left to finish cosplay for Fanime...

If anyone would like to meet up, let me know! I'll ask again on Thursday. (though that might be too late if people are already setting out)
When I went to find the new Higamyu, I found that the Dear Boys musical was being shared too! *___* I never thought I'd get to see it.

The musical adapted the series pretty well. I'm surprised that they really did do all the basketball scenes...because man, they have to dribble the ball, play out a pre-scripted game, and shoot tons of baskets on stage. @___@; That must have taken tons of practice. They did have this box thing that they threw the basketball in for harder shots. XDDD It lights up and everything.

Ahaha, I'm entirely unused to seeing females onstage. Anzaki's actress had a nice voice. Himuro-sensei was pretty good too, though one had to wonder why she was around since there's no girl basketball team in the musical. XD;

Aizawa was quite perky, though he didn't actually get a lot more stage time than the others, so I didn't really get the feel that he's the main character. Well, except for the songs when everyone's singing about how he's bringing a wind of change. XD; Otherwise, Miura actually gets to start a lot of songs, and Fujiwara gets to be mopey all over the place. I don't care much for the rival team, but Shimojo was pretty awesome despite how despising he is in the original.

I didn't recognize that Miura was Tenimyu's 3rd cast Tezuka until I watched the backstage video and he was trying on glasses. XDDD Is he a lefty? Since, he's always cast as a lefty character. He also mentioned on the website that other than Miura, he'd have liked to play Meiwadai's Yuuki Nozomi, who is also a lefty. Haha, Meiwadai is never going to be part of the musical though. That school hasn't even shown up much in the actual series.

I love Ishii's actor in that he says that he'd have liked to try out Shounan's Ayumi Fuse. Fuse~ ♥. Aizawa's actor says he'd have liked to try out Miura's part because the character is different from his normal personality. He really seems to be the cheerful type.

tons of screencaps )

There's going to be a Dear Boys vs. East Honmoku musical in July. I guess they're going to keep going. XD; East Honmoku is much funner than Narita Chuou.
*jaw drops*

There's going to be a Dear Boys musical. Woah.

Here's the cast of the main five characters:

Aikawa, Taku, Miura, Ishii, and Dobashi, in that order from left to right. It's going to be Mizuho versus Narita Chuuou. Too bad I'm not too fond of Narita. ): I'd love to see any of the other rival teams instead...like East Honmoku or Shonan. It's going to show 12/20/07~12/29/07.

Here's the info page that came at the end of the volume 26 of Act II.

I'm really surprised. xD But yay for more Dear Boys stuff going on!
Any Dear Boys fan on my flist? D= *pokes [profile] amari_sakura*

Isn't Fuse just *hot* in this? XD;; I mean, Fuse in street clothing!!!  I'm seriously lacking love from Dear Boys fandom. It really is nonexistant, isn't it? No fanworks, no fansites, nada!! Shoot, I want Fuse x Touya doujinshi!! Gah!!! Ever since I read the latest 2 volumes, it made me want to reread the series so I've started back at volume 1 of act II all over again. This is my nth time rereading the series. Really.

This pic is now part of my new wallpaper. :D Though, I haven't been able to edit out the creases. ):

And so ends my random pic spam. really should be doing hw
I've been meaning to do something like this for Mother's Day, but at that time I was taking finals, celebrating my birthday, and in general, being busy. This is for Father's Day, though I'm a bit late. My own father's finally back after a half-year absence, and I'm happy that he's back. This is late because I was at the airport. ^_^

I present, 14 drabbles relating to dads from 14 different fandoms. I had plans to include more (*cough* Raito), but I ran out of time.

Enjoy. And Happy Father's Day! (which, for some reason, doesn't feel as celebrated as Mother's Day...)

And before I forget!!

Disclaimer: I do not own any of these series.

x-posted a lot. Perhaps I should have separated the drabbles. >_> A huge challenge to my memory, this was!

This is what I've been doing lately.  Getting myself caught in a Prince of Tennis: Form the Strongest Team forums.  Roleplaying our original characters, buying stats, competing in tournaments played by AI in the Prince of Tennis PS2 games and so forth.  My lj has been sadly neglected because of that.

I finished reading all 18 volumes that are out for Dear Boys: Act II in two days.  So in love with that series, but now I have to wait forever for the next volume to come out.  (The mangaka has been drawing Dear Boys for 16 years!!)  My favorite rival team has got to be Shonandai. Their ace, Ayumi Fuse is so fun to watch.  He reminds me of Hiyoshi from Prince of Tennis at times, and even though I don't like Hiyoshi much, I like Ayumi Fuse a lot.  XD I was so happy that they won against Mizuho and took the place of championship for tournament qualifying for nationals.  Next volume should be their rematch against Mizuho, though I'm pretty sure that our protagonist team will win this time around. =(  But, Mizuho is not an infallible team, which is quite refreshing (even though they're getting stronger and stronger...and will most likely become invincible soon).  -_-
