After watching the Shitenhouji musical and going back to the Hyoutei one...Hyoutei sure feels a lot more serious than Shitenhouji.
It was difficult not to make comparisons with the other version of the Hyoutei musical that I just watched this week. My overall impressions from this cast were that this Ryoma isn't very snarky. He just feels reticent. His English sounds pretty good though. Tezuka doesn't quite fit the image (he's so slim!) but his voice is deep! Inui gives me a less goofy, more no nonsense type of feel. As for Hyoutei, I find I miss Atobe and Kabaji from the other cast the most. This Atobe doesn't quite have that presence and authority.

The song from this part didn't strike me as anything special, but I love how they have them facing off with their opponents from the first time the two schools played each other. Very thoughtful positioning~

These two were the ones who I thought fit their roles well. Momo sounded quite young, but he has the general attitude down.

The music for the Kabaji-Tezuka match. IT'S STILL AS EPIC AS EVER. I'm still surprised at the voice that comes out of this Tezuka. Much deeper than I expected. I had no idea that the musicals would make me like the Kabaji-Tezuka match the best out of all the Hyoutei matches.

When it starts raining, Seigaku bursts into song for Tezuka to stop playing. After watching this a second time, I still feel it's silly to even try to convince Tezuka to stop. He's not going to let some rain stop him! Still, I thought the song was amusing. Especially since Ryoma sings that Tezuka won't stop, and then everyone else agreed very quickly and surrounded Tezuka in a pretty circle.

Haha, more random Fuji singing in the rain!

My favorite from this musical was actually these two. They were so amusing. I should finish the Higa myu one day.
No more musicals for me tonight. I must focus on writing something for
