I do not understand go. I tried playing against my brother, but I did not have a clue what he was doing. And so I made him play against himself (game below).

Spent a lot of time going through the fics again and through people's fics archives. I wrote down only 5 guesses (yay, five), but even those I'm very unsure about. It's just getting really confusing, and I've realized that I'm not familiar at all with most of everyone's styles. Even my own. And many people like to try different things across their fics, which makes it even harder. I am giving up for today and trying another day.

I've posted this in my personal lj last year or so, but I still think it's awfully neat, so I'm posting these pics here too.

My brother and I found my uncle's little corner in the house very cool. My brother started playing go after watching HnG, and online too, though I never learned. He lent Hikaru no Go to his friend, and then his friend started playing go online too. And then we made our cousin watch the series, and he started to play too. ^_^;; I do believe we managed to addict everyone we made watch the series, though of course not everyone started playing go because of it. Though, my friend (who's a Sai lover) and I managed to film a skit about go for our final Calculus project in high school. We were craaazy. And then I cosplayed Touya later that year. And wore my cosplay to school. With green hairspray and all. Had to cut my hair short, short, short! At least, it wasn't a hairstyle I'd ever have chosen on my own.

Anyway, my uncle's room was really cool. We did nigiri and I guess I got black. I don't remember, but it didn't really matter much when my brother ended up playing it all by himself (and losing to himself). Mm, book of go to the right. Was in Chinese. Looking through it didn't help me much. :3

Close up of the go-ke. Perhaps I should've taken the lids off. The stones were really nice and pretty (compared to the ones I have! Stupid, plastic things).

Not go, but look at that pretty pot collection!!

In conclusion, [community profile] blind_go has just reminded me how much I love Hikaru no Go.

It was in Korea Town in LA ... I didn't actually play ^^; I only went with my friend because she had to do interviews for her korean class (She decided to write her essay on korean go) and she was too intimidated ^^;; I was too but less so since I wasn't the one who had to do any talking XD but yeah, those guys are amazing, I could be terrified to play any of them.

Oh that's lovely! I really like the look of the stones. My set is cheap and plastic. ::sighs:: Well I do have a portable magnetic one too, but it's also cheap and mostly there for the novelty of having one.

I have two go books in Korean at home and my father's been trying for ages to teach me, but alas, I have no head for it. I lost by fifty moku last time I played him...no joke! ;_; One of these days I'll try to learn again...or so I say.

I learned from this site and from playing on KGS XD aaah I started cause of Hikaru no Go ^^;; we all did, but I got really addicted to it for a while and played very intensily online for about two months, then only played once in a while after that. Now I hardly ever play, so I think my skillz have gone down a lot -__-;;;

I want your Uncle's go room. It's so lovely. *__* I tried playing go, but I just can't make a decent game and my kohai was better at it than me. He also had his own goban (the foldable one) which he brought to our organization every now then. I remembered a lot of the org members going, wah, shiny goban! Let's play. XD

I have to admit that when I saw the picture, for a moment I contemplated how black was faring in the upper corner. *points at shiny gobam*

:D A little bit. I spend most of my time reading kifu, since I can find no one to play against, and I can't do netgo without java support.

I don't know how to play go either. And sadly I haven't had the time to watch/read Hikaru no go yet...

The pot collection is damn awesome. My friend's father collects the same stuff but his aren't china but only uhm... metallic? ^^;;
