Here's my letter for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide, just barely making signups! Some of these are requests I've made before but never matched on (or my writer decided to write a different series, haha). I would love to see fic for any of these series! :D (If you're curious what Yuletide is, hop on over here!)

This is meant to be extra info in case you are the type of writer who likes to know more or to explore fandoms you weren't matched on. Otherwise, feel free to disregard. I've included all the necessary info in my signups!

The General Stuff

I requested my favorite characters from each series. As long as the fic is focused on them, that is really all that matters! But in case you'd like to know why I like a particular series or character or what I think about them, or what kind of fic I enjoy, then read on.

My general likes: I like plotty fic. Witty fic. A touch of humor here and there. Bittersweet turns of events that lead to a happy ending. Or just happy endings. Wistfulness. Friendship. Family. Loyalty. Bonds between characters. Secrets. Mystery. Plot twists. Character exploration. Underdogs. Tone that follows the original source.

My fics: If you feel you'll be more comfortable writing for me after figuring out what kind of writer I am, you can find my fics at ffnet, LJ, or AO3. I'm not yet a writer who's completely capable of writing what I like to read, so this might not be all that helpful though... You can also see a list of my favorites and recs at ffnet under favorites and AO3 under bookmarks.

Here are my requested fandoms!

1. Kara no Teikoku | The Empty Empire

Summary: Around the year 2500 AD, the world was united by the emperor Idea, but after his death, the world soon turned chaotic. Helpless, the palace attempts to clone the emperor but deems the venture a failure. The clone escapes the palace before they are able to get rid of him. With no memories, he tries to discover who he is, not knowing that he is the emperor's clone.

Requested characters: Rose

What I like about this series: I don't know how many times I've reread the series. (I've purchased it in Chinese, English, and Japanese, haha.) Each time I read the series, I got something different out of it. ;) When it all comes down to it though, what I love about this series is Rose's journey. He starts off not knowing who he is and is basically always under Idea's shadow. How can he compare to that seemingly perfect emperor? Rose may be the emperor's clone, but he is definitely not Idea. I so very much wanted Rose to find a place where he could belong, to have others see him for him instead of comparing him to Idea.

Prompt: I would love any fic about Rose. Life after the end of the series. A missing scene during the series. His feelings about being the emperor's clone. Exploration of any insecurities he might have had. Interaction with other characters, especially Idem and Iriya. Rose wondering what it's like being a child since he was never one. Maybe something happens that requires everyone to work together. Or anything else you can think of!

Availability: The Empty Empire is published in English by CMX and is complete, 7 volumes long. For more information, here's an amazingly comprehensive Kara no Teikoku fansite that also includes scripts of every volume.

2. Chihayafuru

Summary: Chihayafuru is a manga series by Suetsugu Yuki. It also has an anime that is currently 2 seasons long. The series follows Chihaya who discovers a love for the card game, karuta, after meeting a boy named Arata. Even after she and her friends go separate ways, they eventually meet up again because of karuta. Chihaya continues to play karuta through high school, dreaming of one day becoming the Queen.

Requested characters: Mashima Taichi

What I like about this series: This series has so much heart. Chihaya, Taichi, and Arata are such good friends, and karuta just means so much to them. I love their bonds, their passion is touching, and I can't help but root for each and every one of them. This is a sports series through and through, but at the same time, it is a quiet romance and a character driven drama. Really, there is a bit of everything in this series.

Prompt: Taichi completely stole the series for me. I would love any fic that deals with Taichi. His struggles with being second best in things that matter to him. Trying and trying and failing but trying again. Letting go of his dignity and giving it his all even if it makes him look uncool. Finding confidence and self-worth. Setting an example, leading the team. Small nods towards what comes easily to him and what doesn't would be great too.

I'm not specifically looking for romance involving Taichi, but I wouldn't oppose Taichi x Chihaya or Taichi x Arata. (Taichi x Arata intrigues me a lot, in fact). If you'd like to go the Chihaya x Arata route, please make sure Taichi is still the focus~. I would love to see how any sort of relationship affects the dynamics of their friendship and or their karuta if you chose to write pairings. If you want to write Taichi x Sumire, I wouldn't mind that either. Whatever you're interested in! I just want more Taichi~

Availability: The 2 anime seasons are available on Crunchyroll. There are currently 120 chapters of the manga. The manga hasn't been officially published in English, but there are scanlations around. I am current with the manga.

3. Magic Kaito

Summary: Kaito stumbles across a secret room of his father's and learns that his father was the legendary Kaitou Kid, a phantom thief. He takes on his father's secret identity, hoping to find the people who murdered his father.

Requested characters: Kuroba Kaito | Kaitou Kid

What I like about this series: I just loooove phantom thieves and secrets. Kaito is also a very endearing character - seemingly carefree with tons of tricks up his sleeves, but if you dig deeper, who is he, really, and just how much does being Kaitou Kid define him? How does he balance his two identities?

Prompt: Kaito, secrets, and secret identities. Having to work with an adversary. Going undercover. The enemy of your enemy is my friend. Getting caught in his civilian identity. Hands tied. Someone comes close to unraveling his secret. I love secrets and secret identities, so Kaito's story is very relevant to my interests. For a very specific prompt, I would love seeing Kaito working with a rival in his civilian identity and having to refrain from going all out to prevent his identity from getting discovered. The main point is, please give me more of Kaito! And hopefully more of his adventures with his double identities as well.

Availability: There are four volumes of this manga out in Japanese, and now there are also several anime episodes covering a good chunk of the manga. Kaitou Kid also makes cameos in Detective Conan, but his main story is not told there.

4. 山田くんと7人の魔女 | Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo (manga)

Summary: At Yamada's school, there are seven witches, each with a different ability. Kissing is what activates the ability! The first one is body-swapping...

Requested characters: Yamada Ryuu, Miyamura Toranosuke

What I like about this series: There is so. much. kissing going on, hahahahaha. This series is quirky and very fun to read. I wonder just how many people Yamada has kissed altogether... I started reading the manga because of the body-swapping but I stayed for the quirky humor and the mysteries.

Prompt: I always find it amusing when Yamada and Miyamura kiss, especially when they're experimenting. It also amused me greatly when Yamada started getting used to all the kissing, no matter who it was with. I'd love to see them experiment some more with the different abilities, or maybe even using experimenting as an excuse to stay close. I'd love some quirky antics between the two! Misunderstandings, rumors, friends freaking out (or not batting an eye at all)... Gen or slash would both be equally awesome, though if possible, I'd like this fic to be PG-13 or below!

Availability: Yamada-kun is an ongoing manga series (I'm current with what has been scanlated). There is also a drama version, but I am more familiar with the manga. The drama isn't too drastically different in characterization though!

5. The Legend of the Sun Knight

Summary: Grisia Sun is the 38th generation Sun Knight. The Sun Knight is someone with dazzling blond hair, vibrant blue eyes, and a forgiving smile. He is a benevolent and accepting man who will forgive you for your sins... Or so the legends claim. Although Grisia Sun is the splitting image of the Sun Knight from the legends, his personality can't be any more different.

Requested characters: Adair (Legend of the Sun Knight)

What I like about this series: I absolutely adore this series for its humor and how different many of the holy knights' true personalities are from their perceived one. Each of them wear a public mask, a personality they had to adopt for the masses, and for many of them, that mask isn't their true selves. Not only do I adore the discrepancy between their personalities, I adore the bonds between the Twelve Holy Knights even more. These characters share super strong bonds, and Grisia especially would give anything for his brothers. The Twelve Holy Knights will never abandon the Twelve Holy Knights. I love many of the characters in this series, but Adair and Sun take the top spots. Since Grisia Sun is the main character and I get enough of him from the main series, I'd really just love to see more about Adair! He is one awesome vice-captain.

Prompt: Anything about Adair will make my Yuletide. A day in the life of. Adair training with the Sun Knight Platoon. A mission given by his captain. Adair carrying out one of his captain's orders. Adair acting like a butler for his captain. Adair interacting with Storm, Elijah, Tyler, Vidar, Ed, or anyone else. If you're current with the series, something dealing with volume 8 would be lovely. Whatever you can think of!

Availability: The Legend of Sun Knight is a Taiwanese light novel series. It is complete at 8 volumes. A sequel is being written (only 1 volume out so far). You can find a translation over at Prince Revolution! (up to the beginning of volume 6). There is also a manhua adaption about, but it is only in its early stages.

6. Havemercy Series - Jaida Jones & Danielle Bennett

Summary: The Havemercy series is a series of four books by Jaida Jones and Danielle Bennett. Steampunk fantasy. Each book features alternating, 1st person narration from four main characters. The characters have awesome and very distinct voices. Most people usually introduce this series as the one with metal dragons and gay magicians. I enjoy the world building down to the swear words they use!

Requested characters: Thom

What I like about this series:
I was on the edge of my seat with the first book, and my mind was blown when my suspicion that Rook was Thom's long lost brother turned out to be true. I absolutely adore brothers in fiction, especially estranged ones (I really have a thing for long lost siblings), and the tension between these two was intense. They were complete strangers at the start and didn't even like each other (they got on each other's nerves so much), but sometimes, despite how different they were, they were somehow similar as well and just couldn't stop thinking about each other. I enjoyed how we got to revisit Rook and Thom in book 3. They'd truly been separated for a long, long time, pretty much their entire lives. While they now know they're brothers, their memories of being brothers have faded so much that they can't even trust what they remember anymore, and even with those memories, they've changed since. How exactly do they fit into each other's lives now, and where will they go from here?

Prompt: Thom is my absolute favorite in the series. I love his voice and his struggles to find his place. He's a scholar through and through and can be very logical, but he can also be susceptible to sentimentality. I really like his thoughts, so I would love more of that. I also like seeing other characters' thoughts about him, so that would work for me too. I find it pretty fascinating how he comes off quite differently depending on the narrator!

Fic from his POV would be lovely, and fic that explores other characters' thoughts about him equally so. Rook and Thom fascinate me, as does Thom's friendship with Balfour. If you could get Thom in the same scene as any other characters, that would be amazing too.

Basically, any fic that focuses on Thom would be much adored. Fic set in Thom's past, or beyond the fourth book, would all be great. Maybe Thom and Rook finally reach Eklesias? Or they return to Thremedon for some reason. Missing scenes from the books would be cool too.

I wouldn't mind any AUs that feature Thom either, as long as the dynamics with the other characters (such as Rook) are kept.

Availability: There are four books in the Havemercy series, Havemercy, Shadow Magic, Dragon Soul, and Steelhands. Havemercy and Dragon Soul are the ones that focus on Thom the most.

Final Words

Sorry for the long letter... I really hope this is helpful instead of... intimidating! Please feel free to ignore anything that is not useful for you. The important thing is to write a story you want to write! I tried to give some prompts that I love in case you need them, but please don't be limited by my imagination. I'm sure there is plenty out there that hasn't even crossed my mind.

I hope you have a great Yuletide! Thanks for writing for me! ♥

Sorry but your tastes in fandoms are too good~ XD
