I'm currently trying to get somewhere in the Kirihara vs Fuji chapter. Except for it's really really really hard to write a convincing battle between an assassin and a sword paladin. But honestly, when I get through this chapter, Part 3 will be done except for chapter extensions and adding in a few small transition scenes that I left out. x.x

It doesn't set itself up well to match the word counts of the other chapters so it's going to require some more creativity on my end to make it work. Every other chapter had either a long pre-battle scene or some kind of thing about their past or a scene after their battle... and he has none of the above. But it will be good too since his chapter is the most chaotic one for the army battling so I can use that to my advantage. But after soooo many chapters of battle, I'm so battled-out.
Ahh! I spoiled you. *bows in apology* But to answer your question, yes. It was in my Master Plan aka outline all along. Not all of it is incredibly exact, but I hope the way I wrote it has a nice mix of paralleling and some originality.

Ah no, it's okay. I like knowing bits and pieces about what to expect. Gives me a focus. :3 I find AUs that somewhat parallel canon to be fascinating~

Date: 2012-02-12 04:03 pm (UTC)I haven't gotten to the halfway point yet, but because it doesn't have what everything else had, it's probably going to end up much shorter. And I don't like to have a character who gets less time when everyone else has more. The program I use doesn't have a word count on it so I just go by file sizes when I'm comparing.
Okay, yay! ^___^ Originally, the story was just going to be a few chapters for each person of their everyday life - what they do, spar practices, social interaction, etc. so that you can be like "Aww cool! Niou's an archer!" or something. But then I spaced everything out and thought it needed some kind of over-arching plotline to get everyone together. As I came up for chapters in-between the events, it made the most sense to use the canon plotline :)
It was amusing to see when my readers started to pick up on it and then ask if I was paralleling something. And then when it was quite clear, then it was "Are you going to follow it completely?" "Is Rikkai going to lose? NOOOO!!!" etc. XDDD
