Fanime '07: Kirihara cosplay and the tenipuri gathering!

Thursday night musicfest with ZZ was very awesome. I love them so much. They sang their two songs from Eyeshield 21, their song from One Piece, and Samurai Blue (and a whole bunch of other songs too.

I didn't cosplay on Friday (my friends wanted to dress up as school boys/school girls) but I did wear the pair of wings that my dad helped me make for my Eureka cosplay. Lots of people stopped me for pics just because of the wings! I wasn't even cosplaying as anyone!

As for this post? Kirihara cosplay!! (link takes you to cosplay.com) I cosplayed Kirihara on Saturday. I almost couldn't cosplay him because my wig hadn't come yet. But on Friday just as I was leaving for Fanime, my wig came! Just in time for Saturday! More people stopped me for pics than I thought would. One of them even said, "Kirihara-kun desu ka?" XD; For some reason, people think I look Japanese when I'm cosplaying Kirihara with that wig...some guy asked me if I were from Japan. 0_0;

First off, this was how my wig looked like before I dyed it black with sharpie:



It was auburn! But I bought it anyway because it was cheap and it was the right hairstyle...just not the right color. The black sharpie sort of came off everytime I tugged at the wig...so my fingernails got black very easily. ): This darn wig was so hard to put on. It's waaay too small for my head. After I put it on, I didn't want to take it off.

Before I left for Fanime, I had my brother take pics of me on the tennis courts. I couldn't really remember what poses Kirihara did off the top of my head...so we just sort of improvised. X3;



Kicking the net after losing a game. I think I aimed a bit too high. ^^; I never finished my polo shirt, so I had to wear my jacket zipped up the entire time.

Defeated!Kirihara...my brother made me do it. The ground was HOT.

I met yoshikochan, ycysusan, and a bunch of other people who's names I don't quite remember...anyway, if you see your pic here, do tell me which one you are! I have a horrible memory. ^^;




The Tenipuri gathering. It was quite tiny and full of Seigaku members! I know I saw more PoT cosplayers walking around the con (at least a few more Echizens!) but I guess they didn't make it to the gathering.



Thankfully, the ground at Fanime wasn't hot like the courts. XD;



I asked my friend to take a picture of me with my buchou Yukimura~. All the while, I was hesitating on asking if she were yoshikochan since she didn't seem to recognize me. I should have been sure since we've met at AX, but I am quite horrible at recognizing people. The glomp after we figured out all of our identities amused me a lot. XD; Meeting people you know online is so very awesome. ♥ (look, pretty blue hair! And yoshiko, how were you able to open your eyes so wide? I'm squinting so much! ;_; )

After the Seigaku people left, a lot more Rikkai people came. <3 Made my day!



Oh wait, can't forget that Fuji was still there with us. XD; Fuji, who loooves Inui juice. I've met ycysusan at AX last year, though I didn't know who she was that time. Meeting again was great fun. (I've also seen ycysusan around yoshikochan's journal. XD; )

I wasn't able to stay long...I had to leave for the PLAY! video game music symphony. Watching all those people play was very, very cool. (It felt too short for me.)

I had an awesome time with the PoT gathering (even though it was small!) and meeting everyone. It was the only gathering that I participated in this year.

I dressed up as Miranda again this year too. X3; (I took some silly pics this time...like, Miranda with key blades!! XD; I'll post those later~)

It was a lot of fun this year, but I didn't manage to go to ANY of the panels. I kept getting to the con late. ): I got sick too...someone in the group was sick and I caught it. ^^;

And yes, I'll be at AX this year again! I'll be rooming in the Westin. :D Last time I roomed at a run-down hotel that was pretty far...my feet hurt so much from walking to the con and dragging all of my cosplay stuff to change into and out of. That was no fun at all!

Hopefully I'll be able to do the version with her green arm. So...it's the near the end of the series but not the last episode version! I should probably call it episode 49 version or something like that. Er, whichever episode she first sprouts wings. Hm, wings are going to be hard to wear around AX with so many people crowding around...I already ran into a lot of people during Fanime. X3;

Too bad I haven't seen anyone organize a E7 gathering. ): My group by itself should have around 5~6 E7 cosplayers.

gem2niki is going to have an art table this year, so she should be easy to find. And once you find her, well, I'm always near. XD;; (though, I'm usually the only one in the group who's up and prancing about through the con...)

Haha, true, but it'd definitely attract attention. I don't think I've ever seen anyone attempt that version before. It would be awesome if the wings could retract or something. x);

The biggest problem with that version of Eureka is her arm...I'd have to find spandex-like material...don't quite know how it'll work. I wish my wings were retractable! They're not that cool though. XD;

Hm, maybe I should start a thread for E7...though there's only a month or so left until AX. All the time slots have been taken already!

Hehe, yup, the wings are very noticeable. Lots of people on Monday seemed to like my Eureka cosplay...even though it's so simple! It must be because of the wings.

I didn't get to go to last year's DGM gathering. It was too early on the first day! This time, it's on Saturday at 10...I hoped to go, but it's only an hour after the Prince of Tennis gathering, which I planned to go to too. Decisions decisions. ):

But you should totally go to the DGM gathering with your frilly aprons. XD; Makes for a change from all the exorcist outfits!!

The wig became not-as-curly after it went though sharpie coloring. XD;; That took a loong time, and five sharpies! And it smelled like sharpie afterwards too. ^^;; I dyed a white wig of mine aqua for another cosplay...the dye for that is staying on pretty good but somehow the dye for this one is not...

I met some people that I saw at AX from last year. It was great fun. :D I know, last year I was the one who approached you. But then, you were quite recognizable with your Inui getup while I probably wasn't...XD;;

Hee, I took those pictures at my brother's apartment complex. They have private tennis courts, so there were less passerbys...but "less" doesn't mean none. XD;; I was going to make my brother cosplay as Yagyuu, but I was too lazy to actually make a uniform for him. Or else he'd wear it!!

AX tenipuri gathering is on Saturday at 9 A.M.! In front of the theator, I think. I'm not sure of the location. X3;

Hopefully no one else smelled the sharpie fumes. XD; Putting on the wig made my fingernails turn black, but I don't think it's too noticeable on the wig. The wig still looks very black. X3;

I've played quite a few matches with my brother on those tennis courts. It's so nice not having to wait for empty courts. ♥ (Even better for taking pictures! XD;; Hm...it'd be a good spot for filming videos too...)

Last year's gathering was pretty early too, wasn't it? Are you coming to the gathering as spy!Inui or as Ryou? :3

Last year's was on a Monday and by that time my brother didn't want to go back again. So my dad had to drive me all the way over there, wait while I took pictures and everything, before taking me back. XD;; This year is better, even though my brother would want to go all four days since his friends are going with him. Last year it was just him and he was so bored. *pets him*

I did spy!Inui last year, and there were some Inui (and Kaidoh) representatives so I'm happy for that. So I'll do Ryou at the gathering, for some Rokkaku support. *nodnod* My Ryou cosplay clothing would be a little more accurate than spy!Inui's I think. >.>;; X3

Ahaha, that, I don't know. People probably just didn't comment. Some tried to touch my wig before I warned them off that their hands might turn black. XD; Curly hair just makes people want to pet it, doesn't it?

Back in high school, I filmed videos with my friends for class. Although the topic was rectilinear motion, we somehow tied it to tennis and had a "tennis match" to settle things. XD; I've always wanted to do an actual tenipuri video, but alas, that hasn't happened yet.

Oo, I didn't know your brother's going too. You should totally dress him up as Kaidoh. But yeah, the gatherings pretty early especially for those who have to drive to get to the con. For Fanime, I never got to the convention earlier than 12. ^^;

Ahaha, I do have my Calculus video on youtube, but I have it marked private. It's too embarrassing to show to the whole entire world. XD; (not the tennis part, though that's embarrassing too. I'm afraid that tennis and calculus together...doesn't make much sense) Is there some way to share videos with select people? I've done a video with calculus and igo too XD;;;

Aww, does your brother not like cosplay? Tenipuri cosplay shouldn't be very embarrassing or anything since the outfits are almost normal-ish. Kaidoh and his black shirt is totally something that can be worn on a day-to-day basis! And yes, he'd totally be POPULAR. He's probably afraid of that very fact?? XD;;

I'm going to be staying at the Westin, so it'll just be a matter of getting up early. No commuting or walking far for me, so I better get there on time. XD;; The D.Gray-man gathering is an hour after the tenipuri one though, so I might have to leave early to change. ;_; I don't even know if I'll be able to change fast enough even if I do leave early.

I'll bring my wooden racket then. :D I'm going to borrow my brother's racket bag again, so it'll just be a matter of storing two rackets in there instead of one. ♥ Won't be much trouble at all. I might even bring a third one so that the racket bag maintains shape even after I take the other rackets out. XD;

My brother's not as into cosplay as I am, but I think it's because making outfits takes a lot of time and skill. He'd cosplay tenipuri if I made an outfit for him. X3; I was going to make him cosplay Yagyuu this time, but I ran out of time and he ended up not going to the convention anyway. *sigh*
