Yu Wo's forums got an upgrade! I love it! It seems much more streamlined, and it works really well with mobile now. Except... the sad thing is, all of the author comments have disappeared... DDD: All those years of author comments! But other than that, I'm really liking the upgrade. There's always been this system of leveling up depending on how much you reply and post. The levels seem to be something like holy-knight-in-training -> holy knight -> ?? -> ??. With vice-captain being there somewhere. I don't know which level is where, since I'm at the lowest level. XD;; I've been commenting more though, and I even made my first post, so maybe one day I'll become a holy knight??? (I want to be a vice-captain!!) Hopefully before the titles are changed, if they're ever changed. (Please don't change them anytime soon, ahhhhh I love the current titles! But I have a feeling they could be changed to something from Dominion's End)

I translated the prologue of A Vice-Captain's Tale into Chinese! This will be good Chinese practice. I hope I made sense, ahahaha, and don't have too many wrong words... (I can't really tell, OTL, how do I Chinese???) I was able to translate a little more while being stuck in jury duty today. :'D;;;

Debating if I should crosspost on LJ/ffnet/AO3. Maybe just on AO3...

It's a lot easier disassembling sentences than trying to make them! I can sit in the corner and have a vague sense at what's going on when people try to speak Chinese, but then again, that's mostly just from the tone of the speaker's voices... ='D

Yu Wo's syntax and vocabulary isn't too bad usually, so it's pretty readable once I break the sentences into pieces on Google Translate. (I feel like that's blasphemy somehow... Oh well.)

*and sits tongue-tied in Mandarin class when called upon to make example sentence using 的,得, and 地*

o.o? Since I almost never get the spam robot challenge correct when I post comments here, (I'm sorry. I guess I'm not a real person half the time. Puddles don't seem to pass.) I noticed that the page I get redirected to is in Simplified Chinese. Are you more comfortable with Simplified or Traditional?

(I keep reading 個 Simplified as "Up arrow." I'm more used to Traditional than Simplified...)

*watches as lucathia becomes the fastest leveling Vice-Captain in history* Good luck with your training! Please don't die from the Cliff jump! I'll be cheering for you and waiting to watch you at the bottom! (Or I'll find the biggest stack of homework ever and push it down after you so Grisia will hurry to heal you.)

Apparently lemon isn't like lingmon like I thought but níngméng. I had a lot of trouble trying to do a small project about myself in 7th grade because I couldn't figure out what the Pinyin was for my favorite drink...

o.ob Reading and speaking's the most important, unless you're actually going to use Chinese for business! Otherwise, people like me would get hopelessly lost because they can't ask for directions or read the signs. I wouldn't even be able to figure out what a restaurant was selling, so I'd probably starve to death too! (Or just get cheated by the storekeeper. XD) T^T At least I know lucathia-jiejie will be able to outlive me.

o.o? Does having novels in first-person help make the syntax easier to understand? Or do people like Grisia and Charles make it a lot harder?

XD Oh. If I fail the robot spam challenge (The one where you type in a random word or a series of numbers to prove you aren't a bot spammer), I get redirected to a page where I just try it again, but the buttons on the page are in Simplified. I saw the story page was in Traditional, so I figured I might as well ask which one you liked better.

Do you use Pinyin to type characters in?

o.o! That's a good idea! Apparently a dumpster of cardboard is the best material to land on if you fall out of a skyscraper, so a heap of paperwork should be very close too! [runs in to steal Storm's paperwork] "The life of a fellow holy knight is at sake!"
Ah... But he'd probably jump down to the bottom of the cliff to catch the holy knight and jump back up with them, all before the paperwork could be tossed down. But being caught be Ceo would be very nice too, right lucathia-jiejie?
