My job just started this week and it is killing me ahhhhh. *getting 3 hours of sleep only* (Storm Knight, I don't want to end up like you) But anyway, have some fic so I don't go crazy over work. XD;;
Title: A Change in Routine
Fandom: The Legend of Sun Knight
Words: 570
Summary: A change in Adair's daily routine.
Notes: A gift ficlet for K! :) This was an idea I got from chatting with
100thangel, but I didn't manage to get very far with it. So... have a snippet?
Today, I woke up extra early. The room was still dark when I got dressed.
After getting ready and tossing Ed's legs back on his bed (he kept on snoring without a hitch even as I did so), I exited the room to head down the hallway to where the Knight-Captains' quarters were located. I forced myself to walk right past my captain's door. Usually at this time, I would still be sleeping. An hour later, I would wake up, make breakfast, and come to knock on my captain's door to wake him up.
Today, however, I would do none of that.
From the other end, a person clad in black approached, already ready for the day. No doubt he was used to waking up at this hour.
"Good morning, Adair," he said.
"Good morning, Vidar," I greeted in return. "You're two hours too early."
"Eh?" Vidar frowned and halted. "But I can't sleep anymore."
"I would suggest heading to the kitchens then and perhaps starting early on a blueberry sandwich. That way you'll be able to remake it if your first try isn't to your liking."
"That's a great idea!" Vidar said. Then, like I had suggested, he headed off to the kitchens but not without casting a lingering glance at his captain's door.
Why had I suggested for Vidar to make a sandwich, a blueberry sandwich at that? It was because today, I would not be serving my captain. Vidar would. I would instead serve Knight-Captain Judgment.
I knocked twice on Knight-Captain Judgment's door. My captain, if he bothered to answer at all, would have pleaded for five more minutes, and then another five more minutes, and then another five more minutes...
No amount of shouting "Captain!" from me would actually wake him up, but even though I knew it was futile, I still did it anyway. It wasn't like I could barge into his room like Knight-Captain Judgment! I could only hope that my countless shouting of "Captain!" would eventually annoy him so much, like an incessant mosquito buzzing by your ear, that he would roll out of bed and get ready.
Not that my captain would do anything as inelegant as "rolling" out of bed.
It must be a sight to see...
Soon after I knocked, the door opened, like I had expected of Knight-Captain Judgment. He was already dressed and ready, clad in all black just like Vidar. These judgment knights really did prize waking up super early.
"Good morning, Knight-Captain Judgment! Adair, reporting for duty," I said and saluted.
"I'm heading off to the meeting room. You can—"
"Go oversee the morning drills," I said, completing his sentence.
He shot me a glance. Ah, I've gotten too used to completing my captain's sentences... He always liked trailing off and having me fill in the rest of his sentence. I continued speaking. "Will you be skipping breakfast again today, sir? I will see you at the interrogation room after your meeting then."
He gave me a nod, face expressionless, and then headed off to his meeting. I made my way to the training grounds.
Today is going to be quite a different routine, isn't it?
But it was likely not going to veer off schedule much at all, unlike what my usual duties required.
I spared a thought for Vidar. It was unlikely that he knew what he was getting into. I would feel bad for him, but I felt more envy at the moment than pity.
I should be the one making a blueberry sandwich right now!
the end
I was hoping to write something longer for this idea, but when I actually got thinking of what Adair and Vidar would be doing, I came to a wall. XD;;; (Though hmmmm Adair in the interrogation room, oho)
(but poor Vidar)

Date: 2014-08-22 08:33 pm (UTC)(Actually, Storm probably has the third-highest amount of holy magic out of the Twelve to be able to recuperate from all-nighters so well. Neo's cleric only had 1/4 of his normal amount after spending an entire night awake, so we have yet to see Storm's awesome healing potential!)
Hm... Grisia probably slumps out of bed (gracefully), inchworms across the floor to his bathroom (elegantly), while yelling (pleadingly) for another 5 more minutes. Then he falls asleep on his floor to wake himself up.
Yay! Vidar's taking mental flexibility lessons! And Adair will learn more efficient ways to beat up people! Good luck, you two! Learn lots!
*sniffles* And have lots of fun at your job, lucathia. Don't get fired because that would be really, really bad. But if a lich crashes through your office and turns everything pink, it really isn't your fault. So I hope you have a boss compassionate enough to understand that.

Date: 2014-08-23 05:01 am (UTC)klasdj;fsajdf Ahhhh Grisia. Inchworm Grisia! All tangled up in his blankets~~~. (The Sun Knight inching across his room, all wrapped up in his blankets? Never!)
Pfft, metal flexibility lessons. XD That's a good way to put it.
I was super nervous the day before my first day... Now that a week has passed, I'm slooowly getting used to things (but what are names. I have a terrible memory for names). So, settling in~~~~. It's tough, but hopefully I'll be able to do a good job. =x
Don't die and turn into a Death Knight!!
Date: 2014-08-22 09:33 pm (UTC)But that aside, how is your job going so far? c: Aside from a lack of sleep.
I'm a little worried for Vidar :'D He'll have to live through his own "so much for gentle and benevolent Sun Knight" experience like Tyler currently is... though then again, I can imagine Grisia keeping his charade up in front of him more than in front of his own platoon since he's only "borrowed" (and from Lesus at that! Wouldn't want Lesus to nag at him for scaring his Vice-Captain afterwards!). So the rest of the platoon might warn him, but he'll just be super confused because huh, Knight-Captain Sun might not be as diligent as Captain Judgement, but he still seems a somewhat decent captain, what are you talking about??
Re: Don't die and turn into a Death Knight!!
Date: 2014-08-23 05:52 am (UTC)Vidar, poor guy. (Let's pray Knight-Captain Sun is feeling lenient). If this were set after V8... I'd say that there's really no hiding Grisia's personality from Vidar. :'D;;;;
(Or Tyler for that matter, after V7, huh...)
*hugs the vice-captains*
Call me your angel~
Date: 2014-08-23 04:08 pm (UTC)You don’t want to end up like Storm? Well that sucks because I always thought that if you were a part of the Twelve Holy Knights, you would be the one to manage everyone’s paperwork. I mean look at how many fics you’ve got going on. You could even be Ceo’s assistant! Oh I would love that! Then I can dump all of my- Sun’s work onto you and go flirt with Adair! Yes, yes, that would be just lovely~
I gotta say I’m surprise you even remember that conversation. I’m really happy to read your thoughts about it even if it’s just a snippet. It’s the fact that you wrote something that will allow our minds to open to all the possibilities that counts.
I… I sincerely hope Vidar makes that sandwich correctly- not too much or too little jelly, crust on or off, lightly toasted or lightly buttered, and let’s not forget the sides. Sun’s going to need his daily glass of milk if he has any hope of growing taller and Sun will need those honeyed biscuits too. Oh dear Lord, I hope Vidar will remember all this. I almost wish I could jump into the story and remind him. Come on Vidar, prove your worth! Remember the honeyed biscuits!
It’s funny how I’m not worried at all about Adair. He’s so perfect you can’t even put how amazing he is into words- no the English language has no words that can completely communicate just how awesome he is!
“I should be the one making a blueberry sandwich right now!” I agree with you, Adair. Go get the Judgment Knights started on their training and then sneak off to fix Sun’s breakfast. I can just picture Vidar messing everything up! Ahhhhh! I’m so worried. Everything needs to be perfect! Sun, I love you! Only Adair can service you correctly (and I mean that in every way possible)~
Thank you, Luca! You’ve made me so happy! I still have a bunch of LSK related questions for you but they’re all jumble up right now so let me organize them first before putting them on paper. Good luck with your job! (Still curious…)
Re: Call me your angel~
Date: 2014-08-24 08:49 am (UTC)Noooo. *tosses all the work back at you*
Adair is mineOr wait. *tosses the work at Adair* There.I'm terrible at organization. If I had to manage everyone's paperwork, they might all end up in the trash. My fics are a mess, what are you talking about. That is no evidence to support my management skills, haha. XD;;
I looove the idea of vice-captains swapping, ahhhhhh. Vice-captains. <3333 Tyler can swap with... Luchi. XD;;;
Mm, all the details in making that sandwich. Pffft, is Sun still growing taller at his age?? (Jump into the story? XD; You can be... the cook!)
Mmhmm, nothing to worry about with Adair. XDDD
but that doesn't make a story, does itI imagine the captains will all be gossiping about this during their meeting. XDDNo, thank you for sparking this fun idea!
Re: Call me your angel~
Date: 2014-09-20 02:21 am (UTC)You hinted at it a few times but I prefer it when people outright say things rather than insinuate. I don’t want to assume something that isn’t true.
Now, all I have to say about your new job is to be very, very careful of your students (and peers)! Anyone can become stalkers. I’ve seen it happen before my very eyes! You see my friend thought my high school English teacher looked really young for thirty years old and resembled a magical girl and from that minor interest, her obsession grew. It’s too exhausting to tell you everything about that year of uncomfortable hell but, well, I’m a sadist who enjoys watching from the side lines so I know just how much information my friend found on that teacher without interfering (too) much. We even found her address and I drove my friend to the apartment. No, we didn’t knock on the door. My friend only drooled at the sight of it. We also found out where her new husband worked and visited that place. I’m glad that teacher moved to another state, she’ll be saver there. Haha, I’m actually acquainted with her on LinkedIn. My friend’s jealous.
Wait, wait! Why are we throwing the work onto Adair? Shouldn’t we just put it on Roland’s
desk and, you know, take our Adair out on a much deserved date- far, far away from Sun?
I love organizing things, I just hate doing (written) work. It’s sad to say but I organized and cleaned a friend’s room one time. It took more than five hours to get everything in order. If I’m paid, I’d be more than happy to help organize something.
Speaking about switching vice-captains, why don’t you just write about Vidar’s morning with Sun. That’s easy enough to imagine. I mostly just want to see Vidar’s failed attempt at breakfast.
Let Sun believe that he can still grow taller; we all know he can’t but we can let him dream a little. Me? The cook? Haha! Well sure if I can use ghost peppers- I love extremely spicy or extremely sweet foods (plus I’ve got ghost peppers growing in the front yard). If I’m in charge of cooking for someone I want to torture, I’d go all out on making it the most miserable meal ever. And if Sun’s involved… hmm, I wonder if Adair or Vidar would be the one to help with his revenge. (There you go. Write about Vidar getting back at someone who makes fun of Sun)
Now I’m curious about what you teach. My stalker friend and I have a bet going on so I hope you can settle it.
Re: Call me your angel~
Date: 2014-09-20 08:13 am (UTC)Paperwork dates are the best, didn't you know? I'll just bring my paperwork and Adair can bring his stack, and then we'll have a nice, quiet evening.
Vidar's morning with Sun~~ Speaking of Vidar and Sun, are you ever going to write/post the fic mentioned on your ffnet profile with them? I'm very, very curious. XD;
Please keep the spicy food away. T____T
So~~, what's your guess about what I teach?
Re: Call me your angel~
Date: 2014-09-20 08:50 pm (UTC)Re: Call me your angel~
Date: 2014-09-20 10:28 pm (UTC)(First reaction? Freak out. Lament he's not a girl. Make him wear girl clothes...)
I would say, wrong on all accounts! If your stalker friend also guessed a subject, then your stalker friend is also wrong. :3;;; I teach all subjects, bwahahaha. (didn't you know I'm as multi-talented as Adair).
(The answer is: elementary school teacher)
I teach the little ones. ;)
Re: Call me your angel~
Date: 2014-09-20 11:53 pm (UTC)Well I already have him freaking out. Guess I just need to put in more effort to make the story work. “Make him wear girl clothes”? Somehow that comes off as a threat. I’m not going to get a time out in the corner if I don’t, will I?
Are you sure you’re “as multi-talented as Adair”? When was the last time you ran around the outer walls of a city? I’d also like to point out that I’m not entirely wrong, unless you don’t teach the little chibi’s language arts.
