I wonder, if I update Memories of the Future, if I'll get any response. :'D
It's been four years since I've last updated it. OTL (This is even worse than taking 3 years to finish writing Bittersweet Sweetness...) Was digging through my documents to see if I could find my partially written Invincible chapters. Came upon my notes for Memories of the Future instead, and whoa, I actually had quite an outline for it! With snippets of future scenes written out already for each chapter!
Lucathia, did you actually write all that?? You're terrible at outlines! T___T; Or even jotting down notes!
Thank goodness for this detailed outline though. I might just be able to finish writing this fic... one day. :'D
A small snippet from chapter 23:
"Has this ever happened before?"
"No...I don't get it."
Frankly, it frightened him. He had always, for as far back as he could remember, been able to see bits and pieces of the future. But now, now the future was completely unknown. It was a wide, yawning chasm waiting to swallow him whole. Was this the world that everyone else saw? This world with no premonitions, no hints at what was to come.
He grabbed his arm and slumped against the wall, completely drained.
At various points in his life, he had cursed his power and wished it would disappear. If it weren't for his power to see the future, his mother would never have turned those unnatural smiles on him. He'd never have gotten in with a bad crowd. He'd have gone to school like any other student.
Normal. Ordinary.
He brought his hand to his face and covered his eyes.
Without his powers, he was just an ordinary teenager. He should be happy, and he probably was, but at the moment, he could only feel an overwhelming sense of loss.
A part of him that had always been there was now missing.
(Namiki! <33333 The last 8 chapters deal with Namiki losing his powers! Last arc! If only I'd continued writing the fic... OTL)
This is one fic I definitely want to finish. I should probably finish before 2016...when the fic's ten year anniversary will roll around... :'D
I better update all of my current WIPs more so they don't end up in this state ahhhhh. Hm, I was planning on updating Follow the Sign next, but wow, I am stumped. So, moving on...

such fic, very old, wow
Date: 2014-08-04 07:17 pm (UTC)I don't think I could continue fics/stories that old... my writing style changes so much in the past four years, ahaha :'D But then again, I can't even finish a oneshot if I'm not on a deadline + like I owe it to someone most of the time (e.g. birthday gifts) and even then there's a 50/50 chance I'll just drop it instead. You're so cool! GOGOGO, YOU CAN DO ITTTTT.
(10 years in 2016... so it's 8 years now! Woah. I don't even want to think about the stuff I wrote 8 years ago |D;;; but then again, I was 13 then, so... I guess that's just natural........)
Re: such fic, very old, wow
Date: 2014-08-05 12:09 am (UTC)(I would actually have to finish to say I managed to finish it! But it doesn't seem as impossible as I thought... still, I need to reread the series. And the fic too. It would be nice to finish. *must improve track record of finishing fics*)
My style changes depending on what I'm reading at the time. :'D Hm, when I was writing Memories of the Future, it was during my college years when I was reading modern Japanese literature among other stuff. There's some stuff about changes and ephemerality... and the character himself is also in college... As for the writing itself, it hasn't changed all that much, haha...... ha.... Recently, I've only been reading manga and Chinese light novels, so those are probably the strongest influences at the moment. :'D
Deadlines... That's... probably why this story turned stagnant. I was writing it for a community but that community kind of faded away...
a;sjdfa;fd; *pats 13 year old Fhaystshilffe* cutie~~~
*faraway gaze* 13 years old... that's around the time I started posting my stuff online...
Re: such fic, very old, wow
Date: 2014-08-05 08:31 am (UTC)Yeaah, same here. Though I guess I got to a somewhat stable style in the last year or two, since most I did was RP and reading the same kind of manga I've read before, so there is no new thing of influence... until LSK happened--- |D So I've got both Yu Wo's and
yourfic authors' styles that might influence me now... Back to style change it is!When I was 13, I... started getting into BL I think? xD;;; I remember signing up on Y!Gallery (wow, I totally forgot about that site) when I was 14 and I was back in a cat ear phase at the time... so 13 might be the transition from self-insert OC shipping to BL---

Do the boots go up to the calves, and then it's thigh high socks?
Re: such fic, very old, wow
Date: 2014-08-05 09:59 pm (UTC)On Serpin? No, those are thigh high boots, but with calf high leg armor... on the back of his legs only because I have an awful sense for armor. |D
