Despite Yagami’s surprise, it seemed like his son, like many other
teenage boys of his age, had hidden interests of the other sex. It
shouldn’t have been noteworthy, but L was intrigued.

Yagami Light had shaken off all suspicion in one day.

Sometimes, being overly smart was fatal.

When the others began suggesting personal investigations, a thought
began formulating in L’s mind. The advantages of striking first far
outweighed his need to stay in the shadows.

“I am L,” he said.

The slight quiver was barely noticeable, but L knew he had spilled
the first blood in this match of wits.

Justice was to follow.
