No Hero
I recently bought No Hero v7. (The guy on the cover uses pens as weapons. How badass is that? XD;;;) Finished reading this! It was supposed to be the end of the series, but Yu Wo wasn't able to finish the entire series with that volume, so now there will also be a volume 8. Volume 7 concludes nothing! I've read some complaints about volume 7, about how it made things more confusing than necessary, and how too many characters have been introduced or only briefly mentioned. It feels kind of like a transitional volume, and it brings in a lot from Eclipse Hunter, which readers were told wasn't necessary to read to enjoy No Hero. I liked volume 7 though, and was ecstatic when these characters got more of the spotlight (and when the other characters were mentioned, even though only passingly). Also, since I've read Eclipse Hunter, a lot of what happens in this volume reads as dramatic irony to me. At the same time, I feel that readers who haven't read Eclipse Hunter (the prequel), will have fun learning things along with the protagonist. I don't know about the other way around though, reading No Hero before Eclipse Hunter. No Hero pretty much spoils a lot of the plot from EH. Only later volumes though.
More spoilerish stuff about this volume below.
A large part of why I enjoyed this volume more was because of Ezart's presence, haha. (Ezart! <3333) He's been fairly absent from this entire series, only mentioned as Daren's friend. He shows up so much more in this volume! Seriously made the volume for me!
I laughed so hard when our vampire protagonist put on priest robes. Pffft. He even already had a cross necklace to complete the picture. Just how unlike a vampire are you... Him losing his inhibitions in the end (finally) was priceless. Fascinating read to experience that from a 1st person POV!
I am also deadly curious about when (if ever) our protagonist will learn the truth about Daren's "uncle." His presence in this volume was surprising (and seemed to be what made many readers feel disgruntled since it feels a little like he came out of nowhere). Reading Eclipse Hunter first would make his sudden appearance feel less abrupt, I feel. Also, if people hadn't read EH by this volume, well, this has just spoiled a large part of EH. ^^;;
Anyway, looking forward to volume 8! And hoping we learn more about the last hero (who we haven't seen much at all in v7).
Key of the Sunken Moon
I also bought 5 volumes of Key of the Sunken Moon by Shui Quan. Another Taiwanese light novel series~. I hadn't read any of it before purchasing, so I don't know if I'll like it yet. I hope so, since I already bought 5 volumes of it, haha. Branching out on authors now! \o\ Her writing seems to be fairly humorous too. I like having a dash of humor in my reading. <3
Just checked Yu Wo's plurk. The first volume of the Legend of Sun Knight spin-off/sequel will be out on August 28! \o/
Writing-wise, I've been flitting all over place, trying to write several things all at once, from Bittersweet Sweetness to Invincible to a new LSK fic (hopefully a oneshot). @__@ Currently, I'm going through Memories of the Future again and editing what's currently up of it (some of the grammar is just... *shakes head*). I don't actually have an editable copy of the entire fic! Must change that.
Thankfully, I'd written bits and pieces of the next 8 chapters of this fic before I just stopped (the story will end in exactly 8 chapters, this I know). It'll just be a matter of fleshing everything out. ^^;; Haha, I appreciate my past self for writing this fic. Some parts of it are quite insightful. XD;; The next eight chapters will actually form a sort of ending arc. We'll be dealing with Namiki's power to see the future a lot more than in earlier chapters. It's a great arc (in my head) but I wonder if I have the writing skills to pull it off. x___x
As for my progress on my other fics!
Bittersweet Sweetness: Guuuuuh, I thought I would finish part 26 before Parallelsfic, but nope, it hasn't happened. I am so, so stuck. I feel I've been following the characters too closely and advancing things too slowly, so I think it's time to pull away from the characters a bit. More like how I'd written the story near the start. Or I'll just cut this one short and let Judgment take over the next scene. I seem to do better in his mind. Nothing much happens in this part anyway. *sigh* Except for... no, that doesn't come until...or maybe I should move that forward...? Hm. XD
Invincible, that is the Legend: Well, whoops. Here I was hoping that I could at least update one of my WIPs in a timely fashion... OTL Weekly updates are so not happening. Anyway, I'm currently writing one POV, but I don't know if I want to post that as the next chapter, or if I want to post the other POV as the next chapter.
That new LSK fic: It'll be about the vice-captains, haha. (It's not even the Roland fic I wrote a bit of before x___x ) I don't know if this fic will see the light of day. =P It was supposed to be something quick that answers some

Oh, and there's still that Bakuman fic I was working on when Bakuman ended. It's already been months since Bakuman ended. It was supposed to celebrate Bakuman's ending!! Now the timing is... OTL
...I think, wanting to write too many things all at once has made it so that writing hasn't been happening much at all. I'm just...going to spend some time editing Memories of the Future while I'm in this writer's block phase. And maybe play around with 2nd person POV for that new LSK fic to see if the fic is any easier to write that way. @____@
