lucathiaSo many changes have been implemented recently over at ffnet. I was hoping this latest suggestion wouldn't actually get implemented (I saw it suggested in one of the blog entries), but it did get implemented. Stories are now sortable by review count, amount of favorites, and amount of follows, which are now visible to everyone. I feel so exposed. =x
But well, I immediately went and tried the new sorting. I am curious to see where my stories would end up. Amazingly, Hoshi ga Hoshii desu is the story with the most reviews over at the Shaman King section. /o\ I really should...go back and edit some of the glaring errors in this fic. OTL I remember that back then, the ability to follow individual stories hadn't been implemented yet, so I was mostly getting follows for my entire account, haha... The other highly reviewed fics seem mostly of the romance genre. I wonder if that's the case with other fandoms too. Most likely...
I don't like feeling so exposed. ): I think I wouldn't mind as much if the information just wasn't visible, but the sorting could still happen. (An option for hiding the info?) Perhaps as a reader I would feel differently...so I went and tried the sorting out with the Avengers and Thor section, which is most of what I've been reading lately. Haha, I've pretty much read all the most reviewed/favorited/followed fics about Loki. OTL Clearly I've been reading too many Loki fics... I suppose this would help me with finding initial fic to read for new fandoms I get into... but uuughhhh, as a writer, I am definitely panicking.

Q: Aldrizzt, has anything changed regarding what troubles you the most in your lifestyle as an adventurer, before and after meeting Neo? Can you give us specifics?
Aldrizzt: Yes, there was a change. Before meeting Neo, what troubled me the most was getting chased [and killed] by my clan. After meeting Neo, things that trouble me are actually quite numerous, but the matter that troubles me the most is probably frequently having to prevent Neo from killing other people.

I wonder if Georgo is embarrassed about his age when he succeeded, or if he really hasn't ever succeeded and just doesn't want to admit it...)

an option to hide the info would be nice, though, probably most would want to hide it then... so troublesome...
I personally think I'd like an option where one could sort by genre with a 'not' option. like... I want to read of this and this character but not a romance... that'd be nice...

Date: 2012-07-15 04:47 am (UTC)I'm mostly only interested in reading about certain characters for many fandoms, so the sorting I use the most is the character one, and then I go by update date and sometimes word count (because I like reading longfics over short oneshots). Sorting by genre with an option to exclude certain genres would be nice. I usually don't sort by genre though. I have enough trouble labeling the genre of my own fics... Most of them just seem to fall under "general" for me, haha... But huh, being able to exclude a certain genre would narrow things down, especially for finding non-pairing fic if I could exclude the romance genre!
Hehe, Neo and his problems with direction... It would be super fun to write a story where he gets utterly lost. He must have gotten lost before when he was the Sun Knight, but I bet no one dared to talk about it. Or well, normal people wouldn't dare, but the other eleven holy knights would probably be the exception.
I can't stop saying "Poor Aldrizzt..." First it's getting chased by his clan and not fitting in with the dark elves, getting misunderstood by humans... and now he has Neo to deal with. XD
Earth is such a pervert. Such a huge pervert... Man, if Earth really hasn't ever succeeded, that would be quite unexpected.... Where's a unicorn where we need one so we can test this out? XD

Hahahaha... I've been browsing Yu Wo's forums and it seems that a lot of people ship Neo x Aldrizzt. Oh, it looks like Rippleless/J.U. has finished the pic. You can find it here. XDDD Man, having the artist who also draws official LSK stuff draw this is just... very blush-worthy. .////.
The Hungri comic talks about how he was given a girl's name (with an explanation about his name and how he was given the name in hopes that he'll grow up as pretty as a precious flower), and the second panel has Hungri angrily saying that he's a guy. Last panel, Hungri complains on how he grew up girly because of his name, and that he plans on taking revenge on the Sun Knight. XD;; (Maybe that's why he wanted to become the Judgment Knight...)
Yeah, Aldrizzt looks girly in that last pic... Hm, but long hair. I've been imagining him with short hair. Does LSK v3 state his hair length?

Followed by the characters one; but that is mostly when I'm obsessed with a certain character in a waaay tooo big community (though, the communities I check... manhua, +Anima, Ah! Megamisama!, Reccord of a Fallen Vampire... and... SO.RA.NO.WO.TO and Uninhabited Planet Survive; they're mostly so small and rarely updated that there really isn't much to filter...)

Quick footsteps resounded through the corridors of the inner temple.
Chasel turned around, a trademark Judgment Knight scowl on his face, as if the sound itself deserved to be punished by the harsh god of light. The expression slightly changed however, into one that only very perceptive people would have noticed as 'worried', at the sight and appearance of the one approaching him.
"Knight-Captain Judgement!" The man exclaimed, while trying to regain his breath. "Knight-Captain Judgement, there is a problem" 'again'
Judgment's frown deepened, there was usually only one reason for which this person would come running to him. Yet he didn't urge the other man to continue, the routine already past the time when such indications where needed
The man tried straitening, though that didn't help much to improve his still pale face and bedraggled appearance. 'no, not one reason, 'one person''
The vice-Captain of the Sun Knight platoon, finally having regained enough breath, proceeded to inform in a rather hushed tone. Though giving a report in a hushed tone could have been considered weird, it paled in comparison to the fact that it was the vice-Captain of the Sun Knight Platoon that was the one reporting to Knight-Captain Judgement
"Knight-Captain Sun said he wanted to go training, sir, I was organizing a couple of platoon members to accompany him, but now we can't find him anywhere, sir. He left on his own..." even though unsaid, the word 'again' hung thick in the air.
in his deep voice, Knight-Captain Judgement inquired "have search teams already been displayed?"
"Yes sir, we just finished searching through the city, I'm afraid we are certain he is no longer in the city, sir"
"Send a message to the other Knight-Captains immediately" said Judgment, his voice so deep and low it could have been easily considered as a growl. the vice-Captain sketched a quick salute before running back the way he had come.
A flash of what could have been exasperation passed through Chasel's face. The sooner they moved out, the higher the chances they would have of finding Neo soon. At least they had a new plan ready; and they seemed to be improving... last time, it had only taken them five days to find him...

hm... no, it really doesn't tell. the most it says is that his and sun's hair "were swept into a mad dance" I think my head then unconsciously decided that his hair 'had to' be long. and I mean unconsciously, 'cuz, when I saw the sketches where he's with short hair my brain immediately started crying 'nooooo - his hair is long, not shooooort'

The only other language I would read would be Chinese, but there aren't a lot of Chinese fics on ffnet, and the ones that are available are mostly translations of English fics. I've been wondering if there are Chinese fanfic sites like ffnet that I could visit. :3;; There doesn't seem to be one, or I just don't know where to look.

I wonder if Unbeatable mentions Aldrizzt's hair length. I should check that again. =x I'd like Prince to compare Aldrizzt and Wicked's physical similarities. But hm, I might choose to have Aldrizzt with long hair regardless of what length hair he shows up with in Unbeatable (since it's been a long time since then anyway, his hair could grow longer). Would make for funner comparisons with Wicked... or maybe short hair would make distinguishing them easier...

'Uneven Odds' by Le'letha a YYH Armageddon fic, (in which the tantei loose), really good, first part finished, sadly it's been in hiatus since 2007...
'The Best Defense' and 'A Good Offense'(sequel, hiatus since 2010) by JoIsBishMyoga, both YYH, Harry Potter xovers, AU from 5th year onwards where Genkai, the tantei and friends (Yukina, Keiko and Botan) get sent to Hogwarts to teach/study/protect everyone

I had to keep reminding myself that this vice-captain shouldn't be as awesome as Adair; he kept trying to do everything...
Initially I had thought to make it three days, but... considering Neo can easily run for an entire day.... and that he is pretty sure not to stay in a single place... I thought three days would be to fast...
I had also considered the vice-Captain reporting that Neo had been missing for three days already... but.... knowing his sense of direction, I really doubt they wouldn't try to keep at least a pair of eyes on Neo, so they would have noticed earlier
I'd also thought of having Chasel call a meeting to plan the search, but... again, knowing Neo... this wouldn't be the first time... and thus they must have already made a plan...

Yup, plotbunnies can be ferocious... I know that well...so many things I want to write, but I don't write nearly quickly enough.
I can see Chasel as being a little more laid-back than Lesus. :D Though he probably has more behind the scenes things he needs to worry about, since Neo probably didn't take care of any underhanded schemes that might have been directed at them, unlike how Grisia has all that well in hand. But since even the Sun Knight vice-captain listens to Chasel... he seems to have a lot of control. XD
I wonder how Neo's vice-captain even managed to stay alive. XDDD Tattletaling on Neo? That must take a lot of guts...
Haha, there can't be that many awesome Adairs around. XDDD Hm, but Neo's vice-captain would have to be fairly competent too, I would think, if he has to keep up with Neo...
Hm, yeah, Neo is fairly conspicuous too, so I bet someone would have noticed if Neo did already go missing for three days!
This makes me want to write Chasel a lot. XDD

plot-bunnies usually never attack me, but damn if they don't bite hard when they do...
yeah, Neo seems more like one to bulldoze his way through big/obvious problems... then again, he did figure the princesses intentions quite easily, he must have dealt with at least some...
probably because Neo knew he'd get in to waaaay to much trouble with Chasel if his vice-Captain ended up dead... he still would have needed a looot of guts though. XD
