on designing new fonts

I once saw a website selling a fishbones font. I didn't buy it then, but yesterday I suddenly had to urge to buy it. Of course, it wasn't there anymore. ;_; So I decided I should make my own. But if I actually want to make it into a typeable font, I'd have to use some program like Fontlab or Fontographer. Has anyone ever tried making their own font before? I spent all night yesterday trying to find out more about those programs. It doesn't seem like Fontographer's being worked on anymore. Those programs are quite expensive. I only plan on making one font. -_-;; Fishbones don't work well in small font either, so it's mostly a lost cause.

But still, I started messing around with Illustrator. I only made 8 letters out of 26. XD;; Hence my new icon. =)


We bought a blank cake for my birthday and had fun decorating it with fishbones. =)
