I felt like AX was over in a flash! I was so pushed for time right before the con, and then when the con actually started, it was over just like that. :'D Maybe it's because I didn't do much at this con... usually I at least go to a few gatherings to take pics or to get pics taken of, but this time I didn't go to any. I'm kind of sad I missed the World God Only Knows gathering, because I'd have liked to see a bunch of Keimas all playing their PSP! XD; They must've had some epic poses!
Will be typing up a huuuuuuge con report after this! With pics!
While I was away, my proof copy of my NaNoWriMo novel arrived!! So fast! I ordered it on the 29th, I think? I got it on the 1st in less than 2 days??? (this was one of the things that made me go, omg, I don't have enough time!! yet they managed to send the finished copy to me so quickly, haha) My parents called me while I was at the con telling me that my book arrived. I was like, "eeee, I want to see it!"
So yes. Here's the book now that I have it in my hands!

The inside!
I didn't notice until formatting my own novel that the author's name and the title of the book runs across the top for the entire novel but isn't displayed at the start of each chapter.... :'D It took some frustration before I managed to get the first page of each chapter not to display a heading.
My book is fairly thin since it's only around 26k! Around half of what I wrote for my NaNo, since the second part has no conclusion yet. :'D My parents were going, "whoa, that's 50k? It's so thin!" My whole family thought I'd printed the entire thing, but nope, it's so thin because it's only 26k. XD;
I wanted to have a more unique cover, but I so didn't have time to design one myself, and![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
gem2niki was swamped for time too with convention preparation, so she didn't have time to draw something for me. I used one of the templates offered by CreateSpace as well as one of their stock photos. I tried going through my own photos to see if I had anything that resembled Veline (a valley with forest between a village and the mountain range), but nope, didn't have anything usable.
I also think it would have been cool to have some black and white pics in the novel! *___* But I didn't manage that either! )': I drew a barrel haha, for chapter 2, but that was the only one I did, so I left them out altogether.
I used a fishbone font for all the chapter headings, and >-)-)-D for the dividers! :D
Getting a physical copy of my book is definitely very, very cool, and even though my story is terrible, I now feel like trying again this November! XD;
I can make this book order-able, but... I definitely think I won't be doing that. XD; Unless my family wants a copy or something. XD;
Been catching up with some manga today, like KHR, Bakuman, Skip Beat, and Noblesse. I have a lot more to catch up with! *__* Oh, I also received my assignment for![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
parallelsfic. I so need to get a headstart on this. I matched one fandom, but I think the others are doable too! Just need to do some review and consume some new series that I've been meaning to get into anyway. XD; Wonder if I should still write a letter to my writer even though assignments have already gone out... X3;;
I also have a ton of comments, messages, and emails to get through, so if I haven't gotten to you yet... I'm getting there! XD; If you're afraid I might've overlooked something though, feel free to make a new comment or something! XD

The Dear Writer posts has been getting a few more letters since the assignments went out. No, I don't have two constantly open tabs just to see if there's any fandoms I know or anything. >____> *is getting bitten by bunnies all over the place*

Date: 2011-07-08 08:57 am (UTC)The book's on the carpet. XDDD Er, I'm not too sure how the lighting is this drastically different in the pics of the outside of the book and the pics of the inside of the book. It was pretty dark in my house though, so it was hard to take a photo. XD
It would've been even better if I could've used a fishbone font for the cover! But I used one of the predesigned covers, so couldn't use my own font there. XD
Hahahaha, hope to see lots of writing from you! :D I will... probably type a letter sometime. Er, I better do that soon too since the deadline's only a few weeks away! Short writing period!
