I'm such an impatient person. XD; I haven't been able to buy the LSK novels, but Yu Wo has a lot of side stories posted in her blog, so I devoured those instead. Some of them seem to be extras she wrote that were bundled with the manhua. I wonder where I can get my hands on those, because these are SO CUTE. I think they were sold in conventions. =/ (something about how they're sold in bundles in conventions before getting compiled since the manhua is Hong Kong based and they don't do magazine compilations before gathering the material into volumes).

... while writing this post, I ended up browsing her blog some more. I remember coming across this video before, but eee! *flails over it again* I've seen lots of Durarara!! parodies before, but eee, to think there'd also be an LSK one!

Legend of the Sun Knight related posts
LSK, Mario style (Ahahaha, Sun hit a block, and out came Judgement! XD So cute! And the second one is Ice, I believe, with his sweets. *g*)
LSK fanwork (I have completely spoiled myself about what happens to Sun later on in the story with this, hahaha, and then I spoiled myself some more with her author notes.)
Thai version art (OMG, that drawing of Sun on the flap, putting a huge coin in his piggy bank... too cute for words)
Names of the knights (a reader sent an email asking about correct spellings. Her version of the spellings is near the bottom of the post)

And now, onto the side stories. *flails* Time to take some notes... uhhhh, these were just going to be random thoughts (and random fangirling), but they turned into very long (and very bad) summaries instead!

For the Sake of All of You (為了你們)

Part 1 | Part 2

Sort of summary:

A prequel! This gives us more info behind why Grisia got chosen as the Sun Knight in the end, and it wasn't because of his hair even though Grisia thought that was the reason, haha. Grisia's teacher, 尼奧 (Ni Ao... I wonder how that should be written. ETA: looked it up. Neo, I think?), the previous Judgement Knight, and the Pope talk about the candidates. The previous Judgement 夏佐 (Xia Zuo - Chasel) mentions that he's probably going to chose Lesus because he's practically the only good child out of all the ones who applied (everyone else is a mess). Neo doesn't know who to choose at all. Roland has the best swordsmanship (apparently he only remembers people by their swordsmanship), but that's all he knows about him. When Chasel asks him who else he remembers, Neo mentions Grisia. Because his swordsmanship is the worse he's ever seen!

After his friend's advice, he asks each of the candidates questions about why they want to become the Sun Knight. All the candidates answer "For justice!" Roland answers, "I want to punish all the evildoers!" When asked what he's willing to lose his life for, Roland answers, "For the sake of punishing evildoers." (Neo then thinks that Roland should've tried out for the position of Judgement Knight to give Chasel some more candidates to choose from).

Neo pretty much gives up hope on choosing the next Sun Knight until Chasel tells him to ask Grisia the same questions. He didn't even think about asking Grisia since his swordsmanship was downright terrible. When he goes to find Grisia, the boy has a bunch of bruises from a fight. Neo thinks that he's such a wimp, especially because Roland helped Grisia fight his fight. But then he hears Grisia talk about how he dragged in Lesus to help too (at least Grisia was good at manipulating people and using people).

Grisia's answers are completely different. Seems like Neo liked his answers! He answers that he wants the Sun Knight's position because the Sun Knight always has a bunch of knights an both sides of him. He wants to be in the center, with knights on his left and knights on his right (I suppose, like a family). When asked what he was willing to die for, he answers, "For all of you." (his knights)

Grisia is seriously making me wibble here. SO CUTE.

Miscellaneous notes and thoughts:
- Grisia's teacher hates to be called old! XD
- He remembers people by their swordsmanship
- He seems bad at remembering people's names
- He's forgotten why he wanted to become the Sun Knight himself (and says, what child wouldn't want to be the Sun Knight at age 12?)
- the Pope wanted Grisia to join him
- Chasel doesn't regret becoming Judgement Knight
- Roland helps Grisia in fights (one against ten!)
- Grisia is good at making people help him
- Grisia didn't think he'd get chosen

Fake Reality (偽裝真實)

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4

Sort of summary:

This one is about how Blaze came to trust and care about Sun. It takes place while they're still in training. The scene starts off with sword training with Grisia's teacher overseeing the training.

Grisia somehow misplaces his sword and almost impales Chikus (the little Blaze Knight in training) and Ceo (little Storm Knight in training). He apologizes to Ceo with his ornate language, making his teacher think that Grisia, even though he sucked at swordsmanship, was already super versed in making stuff up, so he certainly didn't need any character lessons.

After the lesson, Chikus approaches Aivis to schedule some sword sparring afterwards. Aivis tells him to find people from his own faction (the warm, good people faction), but Chikus says they're all a bunch of sissies (who would ever invite Grisia to spar with?). Aivis agrees to spar after Chikus threatens to make him pay him back for buying alcohol for him. They plan on inviting Ecilan too.

In the next scene, Chikus's teacher excuses him from character lessons, saying he didn't need them anymore. Apparently, Chikus was already the very image of the Blaze Knight. Brash and outspoken. He tells his teacher that he's going to go out to play. His teacher is affronted by that and how Chikus spoke back to him, but then he realizes that this is how the Blaze Knight is supposed to act, so he grudgingly lets it go.

Chikus somehow passes by a lot of the other knights in training. Outside the Earth Knight's lessons, he hears the Earth Knight yell at Georgo to stutter. Georgo retorts that the Earth Knight himself isn't even stuttering anymore! (Georgo is so not a timid person)

In the next room, Ceo is being forced by the Storm Knight to stare at a really beautiful older priestess. He can't do it without his face turning completely red. The Storm Knight tells him to kiss her. Ceo pleads, "Can't we just hold hands?" His teacher is at the end of his wits and says, "You bastard. I've already been training you for three years, yet telling you to kiss a girl is like making you kiss a half beast!" The priestess was not amused by his words, haha. In the end, Chikus gives her a kiss and makes her buy candy for him. After the priestess leaves, Ceo asks his teacher, "Teacher, there's no female around anymore. How do we train now?" (Why so cute??)

Chikus wanders off to the next room and doesn't see anyone at first, but is later scared by Demos Cloud, who seems to have very little presence. Same went for his teacher.

After that, Chikus overhears Neo telling Grisia about finding a necromancer to vent off his frustrations. After Grisia's teacher leaves (and gives Grisia the task of finding the necromancer), Chikus confronts Grisia and tells him he was so not going to let Grisia consort with a necromancer. Grisia, since he had already been overheard by Chikus with the necromancer part, thought it would be okay for him to use his magic on Chikus, so he freezes Chikus with ice magic that he learned from Ecilan. He tells Chikus that he can't disobey his teacher's orders. Chikus goes off to tell his own teacher about this, but his teacher just replies that yeah, you can't go against Neo.

Chikus takes matters into his own hands and follows after Grisia. He sees Grisia buy a huge lollipop (and thinks, a guy of 15 years can't possibly still be eating lollipops??) After he sees Grisia leave the necromancer's house, he rushes in and challenges her. A fight ensues (he battles her cleaning corpse). He loses and gets jailed for three days until Grisia manages to find him (everyone else was super worried, especially Chikus's teacher). Grisia is bloodstained when he comes for Chikus. Chikus wonders why Grisia came to save him. Grisia goes, "You are the future Blaze Knight. Who else would I save if not one of the future twelve holy knights?" Pink comes in at that time, and they have a minor argument. Grisia states that he knows the Church lets her be because they don't want to go against her (Chikus is shocked by this), but Grisia adds that it's not because the Church is weak. They also have to take into consideration the innocent villagers.

Before they leave, Pink mentions that if this Blaze Knight died, Grisia could very well just find another one, that they're "replaceable." Grisia throws back at her that brothers aren't replaceable, and that if she wanted to kill Chikus, then she'd have to kill him (Grisia) first. Pink is very amused by this, that a boy of 15 years would feel deeply enough to put his own life on the line. She thinks that even if she killed Grisia, he would surely revive as a death knight to avenge Chikus.

After they leave, Chikus notices that Grisia is full of wounds (however did someone with such horrible swordsmanship beat the undead?) He tells Grisia that he's his irreplaceable brother. Grisia just looks at him and goes, "Of course!"

The story ends with them talking about sweets made by Ecilan, who they're not supposed to be friendly with.

Miscellaneous notes and thoughts:
- Ceo didn't know how to respond to Grisia's flowery language, haha (he's such a serious person...)
- Chikus feels strongly about right and wrong
- Chikus is just as he appears
- Neo is consorting with the princess...
- Grisia is 15 in this (but his teacher thought he was 18)
- I really, really loved how Chikus caught a glimpse of all the other lessons (and how bizarre they were)
- Grisia once saved Chikus and declared him to be his irreplaceable brother
- Grisia claims that Lesus is a very good person and even helps hit dogs that bite him (Grisia even needs people to chase off dogs for him?)
- I don't believe we've met Aivis yet in volume 1 of the novel (Stone Knight?)
- I don't think we've met the Cloud Knight yet either!

Facing the Darkness (面對黑暗)

Part 1

Sort of Summary:

Lesus starts having doubts about his position. He feels he's succumbed in darkness. He asks Grisia, "Do you know where the Light God's symbol is when I judge the criminals? It's placed on the wall so that the criminals see it in their last moments, but that means it is always behind me. I always have my back to the Light God..." (this is paraphrased by me). He thinks about how, for the sake of judging criminals, he had done a lot of cruel things (torturing, handing down the death penalty, etc). He feels like he's falling into darkness and can't climb out. As he leaves, Grisia tells him, "Even if a holy knight has his back to the light and is facing the darkness, he still walks beneath the light and is not submerged by darkness." He asks if Lesus regrets sacrificing facing the light to protect the citizens so that they may be under the light. Lesus has no regrets.

He asks if Grisia would pull him out of the darkness if he ever fell. Grisia answers, "Of course! Now, won't you help me punish Earth a bit? Pummel him half to death! Let's see if he can still brag about women in front of me."

Lesus then wonders who would be dragging who back from the darkness (haha, poor Judgement, trying to get a serious conversation out of Sun!)

Miscellaneous notes and thoughts:
- Lesus is such a serious person! And a deep thinker. Even though his position pains him so much, I think his teacher made a really good choice choosing him because he's so concerned about handing down the right judgment and keeping order in the city. Really a responsible person.

You may only use a sword, unless no one sees you (只能用劍,除非沒人看見)

Part 1 (Yu Wo mentions she wrote this piece but was unable to use it)

Sort of Summary:

This story depicts Grisia training with his teacher in the forest. Grisia wonders why his teacher never hit him. He later realizes that his teacher never hit him because one smack from him would be enough to send him to see the God of Light.

Neo tries taking Grisia to a particular forest, but they end up in the Moon Shield (?) (or maybe it can be translated as Concealed Moon) Forest because of his lack of direction. Since he can't smack Grisia without killing him, he's going to let creatures in the forest do it for him. With that said, he left.

Grisia, age 13, has trained with his teacher for 1 year so far, and even though his swordsmanship hadn't improved at all, he'd gotten a lot braver, so he isn't too afraid of the forest. He's also comforted by the fact that he can sometimes hear his teacher's laughter, so he hadn't been completely abandoned.

At night, Grisia hunts a rabbit, only for his rabbit to be taken by his teacher. (Awww)

The next morning, Grisia finds himself alone. Usually, he finds that being away from his teacher is always better than being with his teacher, but when he gets surrounded by a whole bunch of undead, he suddenly starts missing his teacher. He thinks he's done for and starts crying and shouting out for his teacher to laugh at him. He trips and thinks he's going to die.

Finally, Neo realizes that something's wrong. He goes searching for Grisia, only for him to hurl himself at his teacher, crying (something he's never done before). His teacher tries to comfort him and says that he was super worried. Grisia wonders if his teacher really was worried, since he always thought he was a disappointment, and that his teacher regretted choosing him. His teacher hurriedly amends that the Pope and Judgment would kill him if something happened to Grisia, and that he couldn't find his way out of the forest.

He then sees that around 20 meters of the forest was frozen, and the only person who could have done it was Grisia. He wonders if Grisia again learned magic from seeing an old mage perform on the streets, but Grisia denies that and says that Ecilan taught him. Neo asks Grisia some more questions and learns that it's only been a year, six months, and thirteen days since Grisia first used magic. Combined with the fact that Grisia was only 13, how strong could he become? He wonders if all mages were this strong, but that couldn't be possible (or else who'd need any other jobs?).

Neo starts fretting and thinking that if Grisia continued on like this, he was going to become a super strong mage. What if he one day came after him for revenge for how poorly he treated him? Did this mean he'd have to treat Grisia better now? (Of course he wasn't going to)

So he tells Grisia, "As the Sun Knight, you're only allowed to use your sword!" But then he realized that Grisia probably wouldn't live long with his poor swordsmanship, so he adds that Grisia can practice holy magic only, and that he must never use magic. Unless no one sees.

And so Grisia repeats, I may only use swords! (unless no one sees)

Miscellaneous notes and thoughts
- Grisia's teacher HAS NO SENSE OF DIRECTION
- little Grisia is sooo cute
- ahhhh, he's getting brainwashed. Grisia, you could have become a super powerful mage!
- aww, Ecilan teaches Grisia magic!
- Grisia learned magic from an old mage from the streets? :O

Making a Mistake (犯錯)

Part 1

Sort of Summary:

This is how Lesus ended up as the Judgment Knight. As Judgment Knight, you must foremost not make any mistakes yourself. The Judgment Knight does not have the privilege of making a single mistake. (I think the first paragraph might be referring to the previous Judgment Knight, but maybe it applies to Lesus too)

The scene starts with Lesus practicing his swordsmanship, though he's not yet old enough to use a real sword. His uncle is proud of him and thinks he'll become a fine knight, but he rather wish Lesus was just an "average" person, if only his parents could have survived. Judgment Knight let out a criminal because he didn't have enough evidence to hang the criminal. That criminal ended up killing Lesus's parents after escaping.

When his uncle comes to tell Lesus that the criminal was finally going to be hung that day, Lesus runs out of the house, thinking, "When you should have punished the criminal, you didn't. Now who will I have to go after for revenge?"

He somehow ends up at the place where they're holding the try-outs for Judgment Knight. A knight thinks Lesus is lost and tells him not to go wandering into the chamber area for the 12 holy knights. Lesus asks where they are so that he can avoid doing that. He then heads off in that direction and sees Judgment Knight. Lesus pulls out a dagger, thinking that Judgment Knight had just as much a hand in his parents' death as the criminal since Judgment Knight was the one who let the criminal go. However, when Neo approaches, Lesus quickly hides.

Neo asks Chasel who's angering him so much (why don't you just off that guy?). Chasel replies, then kill me, because I'm the one frustrating myself. Neo digs further, asking him why he's not personally seeing to the execution. It turns out that Chasel can't stand to see to it because of the mistake he made with letting the criminal go and condemning a boy to living without his parents.

Lesus realizes that even the Judgment Knight can make mistakes. He accidentally makes a noise and gets discovered. He quickly says that he's there to become the Judgment Knight. Even though sign ups ended the day before, they make an exception for Lesus because Chasel thinks he's the only reasonable kid out of all those who applied. Neo thinks they're exactly the image of a father and his son (they look a lot alike).

Lesus keeps apologizing to Judgment Knight as they go along, but he never tells Judgment why he was apologizing. Chasel asks if his family would be all right with Lesus's decision. Lesus thinks so, since his uncle had asked him if he wanted to try out to be a candidate (but his uncle had wanted him to try for the Sun Knight's position).

The scene shifts to present day where Grisia is listening to Lesus's tale. Grisia asks, "So how did your family react?" Lesus answers that they eventually let him, but when he passed the first trial, they cried for three days and three nights. When he actually passed... they cried for a month.

Miscellaneous notes and thoughts:
- 雷瑟‧路斯恩 (Lesus's full name, plus his old surname before it became "Judge")
- 費爾‧路斯恩 (uncle's name, Lesus's dad is this guy's older brother)
- Lesus is unable to bring himself to call his uncle "Father" even though his uncle said he could
- Lesus's family are all so soft-hearted! So cute!
- Lesus's uncle wanted him to become the Sun Knight

Sweetly Smiling (甜甜的笑)

Part 1

Sort of Summary

This should be known as the toothache inducing tale of the Ice Knight, seriously. XD; Ecilan apparently, has always aspired to be a baker (he also wants to create his own line of sweets). He didn't even try out to be the Ice Knight but was chosen when he went to deliver bread. He was always someone full of smiles but had to learn not to smile. He managed to do so after discovering another way to express what he used to express with his smiles.

The story starts with his teacher telling him not to smile. His teacher asks him if "not smiling" was such a hard task. Ecilan is saddened because people used to praise him for his bright smile when he went to deliver bread. His teacher then scolded him for his sad expression because the Ice Knight is supposed to have no expression at all. If he continued smiling, his teacher was going to forbid him from entering the kitchen.

Ecilan leaves to fetch some bread for his teacher. On the way, he wonders what to do with the super duper sweet cake he made (it was way too sweet). He runs into Grisia (who seems to be mumbling something under his breath). Grisia immediately snatches a piece of the cake and wanders off. Ecilan wonders what to do about that... but surely Grisia would throw the cake away once he discovered it was too sweet.

When Ecilan thinks about how Grisia might like his cakes, he starts smiling and gets seen by his teacher. His teacher immediately scolds him. Ecilan can't help but say, "Why can't I smile? I might be able to make a friend that way!" When he starts crying, he runs away, thinking that if he's forbidden from smiling, surely crying was an even greater offense.

In his room, he thinks about how much he just wants to be a normal baker. Suddenly, Grisia starts speaking, asking him why he's crying. Grisia then asks him if he had any more cake. Ecilan answers that his teacher had the rest of the cake (and wasn't it too sweet? Grisia doesn't think so). Grisia drags Ecilan off to find the cake.

On the way there, Ecilan finally hears what Grisia always mutters under his breath (it's something like, Ugh, I have to smile again? I don't want to smile! Another person! Have to smile!). He notices that Grisia only smiles so brightly when there are people around them. He never thought that smiling would be so difficult too. Grisia once again asks Ecilan why he was crying. Ecilan answers that he wonders if he was fit to become the Ice Knight. He'd wanted to become a baker before all this.

When they spot Ecilan's teacher, Grisia drags Ecilan over to eavesdrop. They overhear Ecilan's teacher say to Chasel, "Should I have chosen him? He wasn't even a participant..." Just when Ecilan starts getting depressed, thinking his teacher regretted choosing him, his teacher continues on, saying how Ecilan was such a good kid and that the other candidates all looked so cold. He then goes on about his worries, how people have been complaining about the Stone Knight candidate and that there's even talk about the Sun Knight candidate (Grisia). He doesn't want people to find fault in Ecilan. Ecilan realizes that this is why his teacher has been so strict with him. Chasel reassures him that Neo would never let Grisia get changed.

Grisia asks Ecilan, "Do you want to be a baker, or do you want to be the Ice Knight?" Ecilan decides that he wants to be the Ice Knight. Even if he's not a baker, he can still bake. But if he doesn't become the Ice Knight, he'd lose a lot, like his teacher, the other knights, sparring with Lesus... he laments that he'll miss smiling (to which Grisia answers, you like smiling? But smiling is so tiring!)

Ecilan is afraid that people won't like him if he doesn't smile. Grisia doesn't believe so, since he likes Ecilan and Ecilan hadn't ever smiled in front of him.

Ecilan wonders in the end if sweets can take the place of his smile.

Miscellaneous notes and thoughts
- Ecilan is the son of a baker
- Ecilan, why SO CUTE
- Ecilan's teacher is nice. In fact, the teachers of the cold-hearted faction all seem pretty nice, haha
- His teacher calls him "Lan" XD
- I can totally imagine Ecilan baking all the time for Grisia now

An Honest Style (老實的風格)

Part 1 (this was posted just a few days ago! *flails*)

Sort of Summary:

In which Georgo mistakes Grisia for a girl. XDDD But this is actually the tale of how Georgo and Grisia started their stand off against each other. Georgo, after seeing the back of a beautiful blond, takes out a handkerchief (apparently, he has 10 stashed away just for this kind of occasion. All priestesses had those handkerchiefs), drops it on the ground, and pretends to pick it up for the "girl". Who turns out to be Grisia, hahaha. Georgo's demeanor immediately changes, and he takes the handkerchief back.

Grisia tries to make Georgo help him, but he refuses. Georgo tells Grisia to ask Ceo instead, but Ceo is already editing something. Icilan is experimenting with sweets. Who knew where Chikus was off playing at? Georgo rattles off Demos's name. Grisia goes... who? Georgo doesn't really remember him either, just that his name sounded weird.

When Grisia finally leaves, Georgo is relieved since he knows Grisia makes people do stuff for him a long. Georgo so doesn't want to end up like Ceo, always stuck with paperwork (his teacher's, and even Grisia's teacher's).

He tries to invite a priestess to his room to try out some sweets (he uses the handkerchief tactic again), but Grisia comes back to bug him and even wants to try out the sweets himself. Georgo immediately changes demeanor and says he has no sweets.

When he finally manages to invite a priestess to his room and was about to kiss her, Grisia barges in to force Georgo to help him. The priestess leaves in embarrassment, and Grisia and Georgo fall into an argument. ("Help me!" "No way!" "Help me!" "No way!" x 20)

"If you don't promise to help me, I'm going to keep bugging you!"

"Even if you keep bugging me, I'm never going to help you in my entire life!"

Miscellaneous notes and thoughts
- Demos = Cloud (I still don't remember him!)
- so all the priestesses have the same handkerchief
- Grisia and Georgo have handkerchiefs too
- Georgo often invites females to his room, and thinks that if they stay for tea, that means they're interested
- Grisia, why are you bothering Georgo so much? XD
- Poor Ceo...

Unbeatable (無敵)

Lots of parts here (She only printed a limited number of copies of this novel herself. It wasn't published by a publisher)

Sort of Summary:

This is the side story depicting Grisia's teacher's adventures after he retired. He is such a hilarious character. The story starts with:

Neo, you are very strong.

But...

Together, we are unbeatable!

(Together, meaning all 12 holy knights together)

In the first scene, Chasel is very, very worried about Neo and how he's going to survive on his own because even though Neo is a super strong swordsman, he doesn't know how to cook, doesn't know how to wash his clothes, doesn't know how to tell direction, doesn't know how to start a fire, doesn't know how to save money...

Grisia then comes and tells them that his teacher forgot to bring his luggage.

(hahaha...)

In the forest, Neo takes a bath in the lake and then realizes he forgot his luggage, so he doesn't have clean clothes to change into. While he's bathing, a dark elf suddenly appears, poisons Neo, and starts fighting with some other dark elves with magic. Neo is fascinated to see a dark elf because he hasn't seen one in all the years he's been alive. After the fight, the dark elf faints. When the dark elf wakes up, he expects to be in some sort of cell because all humans are wary of dark elves (they have an evil nature, but he's different, which is why he's on the run from his own people). Neo, however, surprises the dark elf and even steals some of his clothes.

The dark elf, 艾崔斯特 (Ai Cui Si Te, no idea how to put this better...) is very glad to have someone to talk with because he hasn't had anyone to talk with for a very long time. He tries making Neo return his clothes to no avail, protests "but I'm a dark elf!" to which Neo just goes, "Yes, I can see your skin is very dark." When Neo reveals that he's a holy knight, the dark elf is alarmed, but Neo brushes him off and said he wasn't Judgment or anything, and besides, he was retired and wasn't going to go dragging the dark elf in.

The dark elf somehow ends up making food for Neo, washing his clothes, and doing all the little things. He soon realizes that Neo doesn't know how to do anything. He doesn't know how old Neo is, but Neo tells him that he's 30. At one point, Neo laments that his poor student was too good a mage (and how was this bad?). The dark elf at first thought Neo's poor student was already dead, but he later learns that Neo is saddened by the fact that his student was an awesome mage but a terrible swordsman. How ironic. The dark elf also learns that Neo's student is 20... which meant there was only a 10 year age gap between teacher and student? Something wasn't adding up... (Neo was lying about his age, haha)

They get chased by more dark elves (Neo carries the dark elf and runs since the dark elf is a mage and doesn't have as much stamina. Neo claims he can run for three days while carrying the dark elf on his back), go to normal elves for help, and finally reach the next town after much hardship. When they part with the elves, Neo asks their guide, "Are you male or female?" The dark elf is stunned and goes, "You can't tell? Wait, surely you know what gender I am?" Neo goes, "Of course! You're male!" The dark elf is relieved until Neo adds, "I figured it out after three days."

In town, Neo signs them up as an adventure party. After staying in the village for some time, the villagers discover that the dark elf is a dark elf and starts chasing them. The dark elf tells Neo to escape. Neo goes, "Of course!" The dark elf thinks that this is where they'll part, but instead of escaping on his own like the dark elf expected, Neo scoops him up and leaps to the roofs with him. They escape to the edge of town but end up trapped because they were forbidden by the elves to reenter the forest. In front of them were villagers Neo couldn't harm, and on both sides of them were dark elves. The dark elf wants to throw himself at the elves to finish things off, but Neo doesn't let them. He wants to smash into the villagers, but the dark elf refuses to let himself harm his own kind.

At this time, all the previously retired holy knights show up, with Chasel in the lead. The villagers didn't believe Neo when he claimed that he was the Sun Knight, but with all the knights present, the villagers finally believe them. Neo then explains that this particular dark elf has seen the light and has the blessing of the God of Light. The elves behind them lower their bows and finally accept the dark elf.

Chasel shares a moment with the dark elf, entrusting Neo to him. The dark elf goes, "Can I refuse?"

Miscellaneous notes and thoughts:
- I didn't give much thought to Grisia's teacher before all these side stories, but wow, what a character
- he kind of reminds me of Lan (1/2 Prince), but taken to the extreme (not only is he terrible with direction, he doesn't know much else other than sword fighting)
- the poor dark elf. his assumptions kept getting overturned by Neo, but that's what's so fun! I like this kind of relationship and would've loved to see more

*flails* *Starts reading*

"The previous Judgement 夏佐 (Xia Zuo - Chasel) mentions that he's probably going to chose Lesus because he's practically the only good child out of all the ones who applied (everyone else is a mess)."
omg. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! What do you mean that 'every one else is a mess'? They were bad in their skills, or bad in their personality?

"Roland has the best swordsmanship (apparently he only remembers people by their swordsmanship),"
*laughs* Well, if he's judging them on who's going to be the next Sun Knight, and since he spends a fair amount of time fighting as well... XDD

"Because his swordsmanship is the worse he's ever seen!"
XDDD

"Neo then thinks that Roland should've tried out for the position of Judgement Knight to give Chasel some more candidates to choose from"
*howls with laughter* Yeah, that's more a Judgement type supposed mentality than a Sun supposed mentality.

"(at least Grisia was good at manipulating people and using people)."
XDDD

"When asked what he was willing to die for, he answers, "For all of you."
Aaaaaaaaah! *heart is moved* *hugs him*

"Chasel doesn't regret becoming Judgement Knight"
Aaaaaand plotbunnied. Because I want to write friendship!fic with him and Neo. XDD

Fake Reality
"Grisia somehow misplaces his sword and almost impales Chikus and Ceo"
*snorts*

"He apologizes to Ceo with his ornate language, ... so he certainly didn't need any character lessons.
XDD

That entire next paragraph! Eeeeeeeee!

"His teacher is affronted by that and how Chikus spoke back to him, but then he realizes that this is how the Blaze Knight is supposed to act, so he grudgingly lets it go."
*snickers*

"Georgo retorts that the Earth Knight himself isn't even stuttering anymore!"
Ahahahaha!

"Ceo pleads, "Can't we just hold hands?"
Awwwwww cute.

"but is later scared by Demos Cloud, who seems to have very little presence. Same went for his teacher."
XD

"so he freezes Chikus with ice magic that he learned from Ecilan"
Ahahaha~~!

"A fight ensues (he battles her cleaning corpse)."
I'm laughing out loud so much! EEEE!

"The story ends with them talking about sweets made by Ecilan, who they're not supposed to be friendly with."
HIGH-PITCHED SQUEALING OMG!

"Ceo didn't know how to respond to Grisia's flowery language, haha (he's such a serious person...)"
*huge grin!*

"Grisia is 15 in this (but his teacher thought he was 18)"
XD So, tall for his age then.

I'm kinda D: about those lessons, because gaaaaah, what they're telling the person to be like and damage and gaaaaah.

"I don't believe we've met Aivis yet in volume 1 of the novel (Stone Knight?)
- I don't think we've met the Cloud Knight yet either!"
Nope, haven't seen even a mention of either yet. :3

Facing the Darkness
"He asks Grisia, "Do you know where the Light God's symbol is when I judge the criminals? It's placed on the wall so that the criminals see it in their last moments, but that means it is always behind me. I always have my back to the Light God..."
O_____O *wibbles*

Yeah, that's a thinky story.

You may only use a sword, unless no one sees you
He later realizes that his teacher never hit him because one smack from him would be enough to send him to see the God of Light.
XDDD

"Grisia hunts a rabbit, only for his rabbit to be taken by his teacher"
Yeah, awwww. :(

"Grisia's teacher HAS NO SENSE OF DIRECTION"
XDDD

"Grisia learned magic from an old mage from the streets? :O"
*plotbunnnnied*

XD Aaah, okay. I would have thought that there would have been more people applying to punish the criminals, but I guess with the reputation that the Judgement Knight has, and people not wanting to interrogate criminals that diminishes things.

I suppose for the most part now, the Knights aren't as needed anymore (that was even said in the introduction) so having good sword skills isn't such a big deal compared to being able to uphold the image that they're meant to portray. Hmm~

XDD omg, just what Sun said to Neo's questions. Aaaaaaah~

:D I think I want to write one like Chasel doesn't regret being the Judgement Knight because of what he's doing with his position, the friends that he's made, maybe one focusing just on his friendship with Neo, Lesus... (I'm typing this up, because this idea isn't so firm in my head yet and keeps wavering so I may as well have it saved somewhere, right? XDD;; Or I'll just bunch this up together. Who knows.)

I think... Yeah, my headcanon goes that there's two separate areas for the factions, but I don't think canon's said anything about it. If there wasn't, they'd have to act out all these arguments so many times! (but then Ecilan could bake so much! Eeee)

I think Ecilan is becoming one of my favourite characters now. Eeeeeeee! I so want to see him again soon! I think I'm going Lesus, Ecilan, then Grisia at the moment. I have no idea where to put Neo and Chasel though. Or Ceo. DD: *flails* So many characters I like!

Yeah, better than them actually becoming the character.

*laughs* Hmm, the last chapter in the first volume is called 'No matter what happens, the Sun Knight is always perfect.' D: This is a shared rule, so I think that's what everyone thinks about the Sun Knight. DD:

XD Maybe they heard the difference in pay between being a Holy Knight and a regular knight.

I think I just found Sun quirky in the main storyline, also funny with how he reacted to things, but definitely not cute (unless he was with Judgement X3).

*snerk* I'm in absolute agreement that the Knights were so adorable when they were younger. *flails at them*

Eeeeee! XDD *Gets a mini-plotbunny* (I had 'half plotbunny' before I thought about the visual of that and changed it. XD;;) I guess Chasel is the only one who'd stand up to him.

Soooo many characters! Eeeeee, can't wait to see them more!

I just want to see more of eeeeeveryone! XDD I think I'll like them all. I looked on the recruitment page on princerevolutions, and it looks like we're going to get an outsider's pov at some point in the near future. I saw something about someone becoming a knight in Sun's platoon and then closed the document. XDD The last time I looked, it was The Date chapter in 1/2 Prince.

XDDDD EEEEEeeeeee, Ecilan and Ecilan'd teacher!

Eeeeeeee! Can't wait to seeeeee.

XD Very much so.

The Date chapter was posted... on the second of December. I can't remember when I last checked the recruitment page though. XD;

I knoooow. The other povs are awesome. :D I guess the new pov'll be in either the shared rule, or the epilogue (Yey, 'Character introductions'! \o/)

It's under the English Proof-readers bit, with the set text that you can find with the application procedures. Not sure if it's the same text anymore because I don't have anything that can read it at the moment. XDD

:D :D :D Awesome!

Making a mistake
"This is how Lesus ended up as the Judgment Knight."
Eeeeeeeeeee! *jumps around*

"As Judgment Knight, you must foremost not make any mistakes yourself. The Judgment Knight does not have the privilege of making a single mistake."
Ah. DD: That doesn't sound good.

"Judgment Knight let out a criminal because he didn't have enough evidence to hang the criminal. That criminal ended up killing Lesus's parents after escaping."
Awwww, poor Judgement!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! *flailing so much!!* Lesus going up to the training grounds! Him thinking about attacking Chasel! Chasel being angry at himself! EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

"Neo thinks they're exactly the image of a father and his son (they look a lot alike)."
*grins*

"Lesus answers that they eventually let him, but when he passed the first trial, they cried for three days and three nights. When he actually passed... they cried for a month."
XDDD Yeeeeah.

Sweetly smiling
Ecilan apparently, has always aspired to be a baker
AAAAaaaaaaaaah! Whhy are all these Knights so cuuuute??

"He didn't even try out to be the Ice Knight but was chosen when he went to deliver bread."
Bwahahaha!

"Ecilan is saddened because people used to praise him for his bright smile when he went to deliver bread."
O____O *wibbles*

"On the way, he wonders what to do with the super duper sweet cake he made (it was way too sweet). He runs into Grisia"
*grins*

"When he starts crying, he runs away, thinking that if he's forbidden from smiling, surely crying was an even greater offense."
;_______;

(it's something like, Ugh, I have to smile again? I don't want to smile! Another person! Have to smile!).
Kyyaaaaaa! Eeeeeee!

"how people have been complaining about the Stone Knight candidate"
Hmm. Wonder what about~

"(to which Grisia answers, you like smiling? But smiling is so tiring!)
Eeeeeee!

"Ecilan wonders in the end if sweets can take the place of his smile."
Aaaaaaaah! WHY SO CUTE???

His teacher calls him "Lan" XD
XDD

*checks Big Damn Table* Yes! I have Cold as a prompt! And Smile! Wooo!

An Honest Style
"In which Georgo mistakes Grisia for a girl."
Ahahaha! Yeah, this 'friendship' was pretty doomed from the start. XDD

"Georgo rattles off Demos's name. Grisia goes... who? Georgo doesn't really remember him either, just that his name sounded weird."
Ahahaha!

"but Grisia comes back to bug him and even wants to try out the sweets himself."
*snickers*

Unbeatable
" he doesn't know how to cook, doesn't know how to wash his clothes, doesn't know how to tell direction, doesn't know how to start a fire, doesn't know how to save money...
Grisia then comes and tells them that his teacher forgot to bring his luggage."
Ahahaha!!

""but I'm a dark elf!" to which Neo just goes, "Yes, I can see your skin is very dark."
XDDD

"I figured it out after three days."
XDD

D: He knows what could happen if he doesn't get it right.

XDD Oh, definitely.

*flails along with you* I'm so glad you read these so I can find out about the characters more in depth, because you don't see these sides to them in the main storyline!

How did Ecilan end up getting signed up, did the side story say? Or did it just say that he got in because of making deliveries?

XDD Yeeeah, I have a feeling that they didn't sign up of their own choice. Maybe they signed up for the wrong trial or something. XD;

:DD I knooow. Now I just need to be able to write something!

I guess Neo might have always had a guide with him? An aide or a second in command to keep him straight? Or he was just lucky and ended up stumbling across where he was supposed to. XDD

I hope so too! :D

Oh, wow. That's... really something. XDD

Aha! I think I might have figured out why Ceo was chosen - he was the only one who'd do paperwork! The rest of them were actually slackers, so if the Storm Knight couldn't pick up and do the work that the others had left, everything would fall apart. As for the Earth Knight... uh, they were similar in personality? XDD

I guess it would have to depend on what Earth Knight does around the Holy Church. I don't know, maybe the Earth Knight is a womaniser because with his reputation of being innocent, people could try to take advantage of that? So the Earth Knight would have to know what to do around women to make sure that information couldn't be taken from him?

But Leaf is scary when he'd got a bow in his hands. XD So maybe he'll be okay. Same with Fire.

And aaaaaaah, I looked at the Thai version art link and OMG SO CUTE! I mean, you said it was cute, but - that is - the sheer level of cuteness in it!! His face is so happy!

And the cards!

Aand now I'm interested in the other book as well. XDD;

Yep. Leaf's teacher must have been pretty happy to have a student that was what was expected. I wonder how his training with the bow went though.

It is! It's so adorably cute!

XD No Hero sounds interesting. *looks back at the page* Oh, riiiight! I was trying to read the boxes from top to bottom, right to left so I was like, what's OEO NHR?

jasfjie All these stories I wanna read!

Yep! I think I read somewhere that she either wrote or published the first 1/2 Prince novel when she was 18. o_______o;;;

The story goes that grisia met lesus for the first time when he was already chosen to be the sun knight during the dispute training, and that he didn't see roland after being chosen th sun knight since he ran away not sparing a look back... in witch point in time did grisia pull both of them in helping him with something at the sami time? is either i misunderstood or there is a loop somewhere

woah, cool stuff here...
thanks for the summaries, (I'm so envious, I soo want to read chinese...)

just entered a page with the colection of all the novels and side stories, now there is also one focussing on Ceo (and paperwork), and another focussing on Elmairy (and for what I read in the crappy google translator, how he started to nail the voodoo dolls)

hadn't seen it, thanks for telling me.

can't but shook my head while thinking 'oh, grisia...'. though it's more a 'oh, poor those that have to deal with grisia...'

insightful indeed, we actually get to know the other knights for themselves and not for what grisia sees them
