Yuletide

Something about yuletide is amusing me greatly at the moment. I guess that's all I can say, or else I might end up giving myself away, haha.

Anyway, being able to edit is so awesome. I now like my first fic much better after giving it a makeover. My second fic is getting there too. The first draft is done, but... yeah, it needs a makeover too. I am very tempted to start consuming one of the other series my recipient requested too, but I doubt I can finish it quickly enough and write fic immediately. XD; (I was panicking when my pinch hit assignment disappeared for a while yesterday until I read an admin post that that would happen. Should've checked right away. *g* But it totally made me wish I had my pinch hit finished by the 20th)

Since I'm subscribed to the pinch hit list, I've saved quite some emails with prompts from series I somewhat know. I wonder if I should take a stab at any of them for treats. XD; I've written 2 fics for every single Yuletide I've been in so far (I can't seem to write more or less than that). I wonder if I can manage to write more this year...) |D

Are you writing for Madness too? (If you are, craziness! You've written so much already!) XD; I love the thought of frantically writing a stocking stuffer, hehe. One of my madness treats I wrote for another year is a favorite fic of mine. XDD I guess the madness deadline really pushed me hard! And the prompt was awesome.

XD Of course! More time spent writing! And if the prompt is up for madness, then that person doesn't have a full gift at that point, right? (up until a certain point) So I wanna give them something to read, if I can. And - and I'm having so much fun! And I'm writing for rare fic! Eeeeeeee.

To be honest, I'm far more anticipatory of yuletide than actually celebrating christmas in 'real life'. Presents? Pah. Bring on the fic. :DD

I think so? Unless we're getting all the prompts again because there's no easy way to filter them. But eee, prompts! I like tiny fandoms!

Hahaha, me too. There's going to be so much fic, eee! I think I never managed to finish all the fics I planned on reading last year...

And huh, I didn't know you could draft things, which means I can upload the treats I've done so far, so that they're ready to be uploaded once Madness starts, and then I can concentrate on more writing! \o/

I think I've edited one fic to... the point of me being happy. Again, 'waaa, characterisation' but hopefully the thoughts behind it at least justify this one. ^ ^;

Well, one thing that amused me today was when I opened my Yuletide 2009 notes and realized the prompt I wrote was something I saved last year too because apparently, my recipient reused it. I was so fated to write this, haha. XDD doesn't mean my writing was any better planned out, but..

I can't wait either! *flails* I just went through the signup summary page to see if there were any other fandoms that I didn't spot through yuletide letters and pinch hits. I don't think there are actually that many, aww. :') I see some fandoms only had 1 request, yet there already more than 1 fic in the fandom written. XDD I want to play in that fandom too

Uploading them now is a smart idea. Get all the headers and info filled out! I was... at one point, happier with my summary than with the actual fic, haha.

I don't actually seem to be recognising that many of the fandoms in the pinch hit list. :( Some I know, but the rest of them I just haven't even seen even their name before.

XD My title kept changing for one, and because I'd changed the title, I wanted to change the ending a little bit. And then I changed the title back, because I liked the ending as it was. XDD

There are so many things that have been amusing me! XD; I just wish I could stop checking the yuletide communities all day long. XD; Nothing's happening yet anyway! I even checked previous years to see how things were different... I quite like the move to AO3. I think I'd have been a lot more stressed out about my assignments if I couldn't edit them. XD;

I recognized a few! I saved them in my email and revisited them to see if I could write any. There was only one series I could possibly write right away without reviewing any canon, but I checked that recipient's page and it looks like things are already covered. XD; The other series... I wish I could write them! XD But man, my memory... too fuzzy. ): And some I never finished watching/reading the original. :'D

Ah, so your title affects the ending, and the ending influences the title... :D It was kind of like that for me too! :3

Haha, I've been doing the same! 'I could do... I'll just refresh my friends page and see if anyone's commented or replied to anything. And see if Madness has opened yet.'

D: Oh yeah, definitely. I would have hated not being able to edit, because there's always one little thing that I need to tweak. And once I've made that, I notice something else. XDD

I like them being tied together. X3 It's just a problem if it seems like I'm forcing it.

Haha, there was one very obvious mistake I made in my fic that I didn't catch until one of my later edits. I actually swapped the names of the people in my fic. By that, I mean I called one of the characters by the name of a character that was in my other fic. *facepalm* Editing = lifesaver. XD;

Yep, same here. I sort of don't want to check my friends page at the moment, in case Madness does open right now - because I need to leave the house right now and if Madness opens I'll keep putting it off just to check that little bit more down the page. XD;

Yep! ...And I still don't know these fandoms. :( Which makes sense, because they're in Yuletide for a reason after all.

XD Would it make a very interesting crossover, if they were from different fandoms?
