new manga~

Bought new manga! So expensive...

- Oresama Teacher v1-6, 9 (gonna go back for volume 8, I got v7 elsewhere. Couldn't remember whether it was 7 or 8 that I'd gotten...)
- Akagami no Shirayuki Hime v1-4 (I love this series~. Finally caved and bought it!)
- Yankee-kun to Megane-chan v20 (Yoh is on the cover, eee)
- T.R.A.P. v1-2 (mystery + soccer + telepathy... seems interesting?)
- Junai Labyrinth v3 (I love Nakaji Yuki's stuff!)
- Momoyama Kyoudai v1 (cover looked cute! I love the mangaka's other work, Kingyou Sou, so I'm hoping I'll like this too)

Also bought some comic anthologies. GFantasy December features Kimi to Boku as the cover (Yuuki and Yuuta~, eeee!) and also has a KtB alternative cover for v9. It says inside that if you buy v9 at Animate, you get a special drawing. T___T; I wish I were in Japan! There are also new KtB keychains you can order from an order form in the magazine. Of course, you have to be in Japan for this too... D:

I was also thinking of getting Usotsuki Lily (by the mangaka of Mixed Vegetables). I really love how her characters look. Might get it tomorrow. Somehow, it seems the majority of manga I usually purchase are all shoujo series... I think it might be because shounen series are just so long. I don't have the money to buy the whole set. :'D (Or any room to store them...) I've been wanting to buy Bakuman for the longest time... maybe sometime in the far future. I ordered Tenipuri Kanzenban v9 and v10 online, as well as Kimi to Boku v9. My bookstore is faaaar too slow and don't have those in stock.

I also bought some manga last month. One of the series among those was Satou-kun no Juunan Seikatsu v1-2. I bought it for the sole reason that it's by Kaneshiki Swiss (Satoumizu), who draws a lot of Tenipuri crack doujinshi. I have a lot of her doujinshi, and her booth was the only one I specifically visited at Comiket in 2009. This original series of her is very full of... crack, haha. Will post some pics next time. I was expecting BL since I thought that was the genre (and was even thinking to myself, oh, this is my first BL series!)... it's so not BL, haha. It's just very full of crack.

... I'm going to play hermit and disappear for a bit for yuletide. My main assignment's not quite done yet. I finished reviewing the canon last week, took copious notes this week to make sure I knew all of the characters' names (I charted it all out, haha), but the actual fic still isn't even half done. I have no excuse with not being able to write the prompt because it was one I bookmarked and was confident I could write! Except it's wanting to become something huge. This is not NaNo, and there aren't that many hours left. I have to rein myself in and take this in another direction!! I probably should not have claimed a pinch hit in addition to this assignment, but I did, since that pinch hit was also from someone whose letter I had bookmarked and was hoping to write. :'D I hope what I manage with both of these is presentable. (I've also been checking my AO3 profile to see if my number of gifts have gone up, and OMG, whoever my Yuletide writer and possible treat giver(s) are, you all are so on top of things! I'm super impressed!) I can't wait for Yuletide~! But... gotta write first. XD;

I submitted my first story yesterday, but I still want to expand it and edit it a whole lot more even though it can stand on its own. Now I'm working on the pinch hit... XD; I wish I could've gotten the pinch hit in yesterday too. I guess more treats isn't doable. |D

I'm not happy with one of my endings (and with my characterisation of one the characters). :( I hope the recipient will be okay-ish at least with it.

*cough* I, uh, don't seem to be writing that many treats. XDD I'd been checking people's gift pages and seeing that they didn't have a gift yet, so I figured, why not, just in case. And the one I didn't write for doesn't have a gift yet. Aw. *gets back to scribbling*

Aw, maybe some time will help, and it'll seem much better when you revisit later. I can't seem to get myself away from my NaNo thinking. -___-;; I have to be less long-winded and actually get to stuff. I'm trying to remember how I managed to do self-contained oneshots...

*laughs* XDD When I was reviewing the canon, I had to do some fair bit of flicking through stuff to find the relevant information I was looking for, and I was just going ';___; I want to reeeead this again!! Nice and slowly, omg.' Yeah, I found that I'd forgotten a lot of stuff/hadn't noticed stuff in the first place too.

ndfa. Well, you know how much I complain about my writing. ;p

XDD But then it'll be really long and detailed! Maybe know how you want the fic to end, and then aim for that?

I took it nice and slow with reviewing the canon for my main assignment. I started while I was still writing my NaNo. *g* And then I flicked through parts to take notes. I think I took too long and should've been writing instead. XDD But it did help me grasp the characters better, so I guess it was worth the time... I was so tempted to read/watch all the canon for the other three requests from my recipient that I wasn't matched with too. XD

I know what I want to happen, just that it hasn't happened yet and will need to take double the current length (or more) for it to happen. ;___; (I don't know if I should feel happy or not that 1k is so easy now... if only stuff actually happened. Maybe to other people, this will feel like stuff actually happens... XDD )

I keep forgetting that the current archive is for 1000+ fics! Eeee! So many 1000+ fics! And the madness archive isn't even open yet!

I remember the scramble from last year. X____X). And once Madness starts... Yeah. I should really edit them before I go crazy with more writing.

It's so going to be the 25th before we know it. XD (Where has December gone???) I know, right? It's near impossible to get anything to load when the archive goes live... but I'm still going to scramble to open my gifts. :'D Maybe not a smart idea...

I am happy! XD If only I could actually finish the story with 1k instead of needing to write more... XDD

Yeah, the site got so much easier to navigate as soon as the deadline was over. I'd been trying to edit the fics when everyone else was using it. *facepalm* I think I was equating 'deadline' with 'it goes live'. XDD;;

I think it might start choking when Madness hits, because there'd be more people using it compared to pinch hitters.

8D Yes. Practically only one day left! I am so glad I sleep the hours that I do, because the waiting would be killing me. On the other hand, I could be writing instead... XDD

Hm, I have something I want to write (Madness hasn't even started yet!) and ended up reviewing canon today. OMG, I still love this series a whole lot. XDDD I need to take notes... but ah, only so little time left. XD; I don't think I'll have the luxury to review canon for madness...

That's true. :D But I think my 2009 fic was a lot more fun and readable for people who don't know the fandom. XD; But maybe I can tempt you to try out new series again. XDD

Haha, the archive was loading slowly just now! I wonder if it'll be worse tomorrow... I'm glad I got my editing done yesterday. :3

XD; I think my chances of uploading something right now will be a lot better than later when everyone's trying to upload once Madness opens, but I have nothing to upload yet except a few sentences. XDD Maybe I will be stuck at two fics just like always. :')

Yeah, I think so... it's very likely the site will be super slow all of the 25th!! Just wow. XD I remember staying up all night with a lot of tabs open of fics I wanted to read. It wasn't possible to finish reading them all in one night. XD

Akagami no Shirayuki Hime: I picked up the first two volumes quite a while back because I liked the cover art. /shallow I really liked what I read, and Shirayuki was a pretty refreshing shoujo heroine, but then I became too lazy to buy/collect/read manga anymore and just kinda stopped.

I pick up a lot of manga because of the cover art too, haha, but I do that a little less now and mostly just pick up manga I enjoyed reading online... Shirayuki was a refreshing shoujo heroine! She stays fairly refreshing through the next volume too, and I quite adore one of the spy-like side characters. :3
