listening to anime

I've been watching, or more like listening, to anime while making decks for colors_tcg and twistserve_tcg. I finished two series this way. XD;

Itazura na Kiss
I haven't read the manga, but I did catch parts of the Taiwanese drama while my mom was watching it, and wow, the drama and this anime sure follow the same story very closely! The art can be a bit funky at times, and boy is Kotoko dense and Irie frigid, but I found the overall series touching, especially the episode before the last one. I sniffled. ;__; This is one thorough series that follows the relationship way past the confession. I liked the simple music. Was used very effectively, especially for certain cliffhanger endings.

Haha, I watched up to episode 9 when this was still airing, but I stopped. But hearing about the ending actually made me watch it, so I did. I immediately noticed how much prettier the art was (since I had just finished watching Itazura na Kiss. Huge contrast). After watching this, I had that creepy song the dollmaker was singing stuck in my head. I always found dolls creepy. >__> I wasn't attached to any of the characters and didn't feel much for them (even when they got into very bad situations), but Ciel did make me snicker at him at one point. Overall impression of this series...creepy, but pretty.

I tried watching Tears to Tiara afterward, but after 5 episodes, I was completely lost since I hadn't been paying enough attention. I guess "listening" to series only works when I actually know most of the characters already and the basic plot.

Which doesn't make starting watching Macross Frontier make any sense. XD; I let Macross Frontier play in the background, but that didn't work very well since I found myself paying more attention to watching than to what I was trying to multitask on. Otherwise, I'd have been lost again. I'm finding Macross Frontier pretty captivating so far. I'm on episode 9. It helps that I really like Alto. :3 I figured if I'm going to the May'n concert at AX, I better know what she's most famous for. XDDD So my goal is to finish this series before AX comes around!

I watch Itazura and the first part was okay. The second part was horrible. It was like they ran out of ideas so they just had to throw in random love triangles but the couple was already married. This guy was like divorce him and marry me! Just completely random.

Kuroshitsuji for the gay <3! Can't wait for season 2!

I can't say I like tears of tiara. It was like one of those very cliche and fast pace anime where the guy is always trying to prove something and everything is explained through dialogue. I don't know the way the anime pace was going wasn't for my taste... but I did manage to finish it anyways...

Hahahaha. The "divorce him" part was like what?? You think you can change Kotoko's mind when she never even gave her best friend any chance in all those years he chased after her? That part served to...show us that Irie can get jealous, I guess. I can't believe he never felt emotions like that before. >___> I thought it was funny how much that actor boy grew, hahaha, when everyone else still looked almost the same.

Kuroshitsuji was very, very pretty (most of the time). Season 2 doesn't even feature Sebastian or Ciel. =/

I don't know why I couldn't follow Tears to Tiara. I might give it another try some day. Might be because of the dialogue?

Its a typical shoujo so I didn't expect much from it. From what I heard the mangaka died so the series never finished.

WHAT!? NO SEBASTIAN AND CIEL? THEN WHO IS IT GONNA BE BASED ON!? THE WHOLE POINT OF KUROSHITSUJI WAS THEM TWO!!!!!!! ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THIS!? LAME!!!!!!!

Eh I wouldn't bother with it. I didn't really enjoy watching it. I only went through it just for completion sakes.

Season 2 features a new master and his butler...currently, I don't see the point of that, since Kuroshitsuji was all about Sebastian and Ciel. Not sure what they're trying to do here. They've strayed pretty far from the manga though, so I guess this will be all anime original.

Yeah, season 2 doesn't feature them. They announced a new master and his butler, so I'm guessing this is an anime original spinoff...unless they somehow tie everything in with the previous season. I have no idea how other people have responded to this, but I suppose I'll check out the first episode when it comes out see what's going on with this. XD;

Ah, multitasking ftw! When I'm catching up with my own card posts, I tend to listen to Let's Plays. Perhaps I'm more simple-minded. X3;;

It's easier when I'm listening to audiobooks. At least then, I don't have to look at the other screen. XD; I need to check out some more audiobooks from my library. :3 I also listen to rajipuri...but that's only half an hour. XDD

Listening to Let's Plays sounds fun too. :D

Listening to audiobooks sound like fun. I normally have to read along with it though, or else I'd get a bit lost if I'm not paying 100% attention. XD;; With Let's Plays, it's more for a background noise... and sometimes I tire of listening to music. ^^;;

I do get lost with audiobooks too, but at least they're in English. I get more lost with anime. XDD But with audiobooks, I always end up feeling like I don't know the book as well as if I had read it.

Listening to music sometimes makes it hard to think for me...might be because I don't feel like I'm moving fast enough along with the music. :3
