I need to organize my fics better. XD; I dug up this fic that I wrote about young Ryoma and his mom Rinko that I never posted or finished. It was from back in 2005 or so. I wonder what I was trying to do with that fic. It was supposed to be about Ryoma's childhood and how he started tennis, but where exactly was I heading with it? 0__0; Reading it made me a little nostalgic though. :3
I dug up some other old fics that I've given up on and won't ever write. Below are the snippets of my unfinished thoughts. XD;
Ouran fic (dated around 2007, I think)
Hikaru was slowly earning his place as one of the densest people Kaoru knew, and that was saying a lot especially when one was friends with Tamaki, the king of being thickheaded. Usually, Kaoru would say exactly the opposite, that Hikaru was extremely perceptive. As twins, they had learned to distinguish even the most minute details, for they themselves wished that someone would be able to catch on to what made them individuals. However, in the present Hikaru was far from perceptive for two reasons.
First was the fact that Hikaru was jealous. And Hikaru didn't even know that he was jealous, let alone the reason why.
(and that's as far as I got, haha. I wasn't even very into Ouran. -__-;;)
Third Time's the Charm (Tenipuri, written before the manga even reached the end of nationals)
Some say that "third time's the charm." If the first time doesn't work, keep trying. The third time's bound to work.
Ryoma doesn't necessarily believe that. It's not that he thinks the saying is utter rubbish. It's just that the third time can't work if there isn't even a third time. Ryoma's lost to Tezuka once--the roaring of the subway deafening in the wake of his defeat. Twice--the glaring of the sun blinding him, making him lose sight of his goal.
Ryoma is the only one left.
Ryoma has yet to win against Tezuka.
There never was a third time.
Seigaku won Nationals that year, their last match against Rikkai Dai Fuzoku. Both teams were in their best condition despite the hard battles fought to get to the very end. Ryoma did not lose any battles during Nationals. His lost came afterwards--in the form of a parting gift from his captain.
One last match, his turn to become the pillar of support for Seigaku.
(I thought the beginning was pretty epic, haha, but I cannot plan out epic fics at all)
Team Sakuno (Tenipuri, completely based on my favorite Tenipuri game, Form the Strongest Team...)
One day, the leaders of the middle school tennis world got together in a conference room to muse about the state of the tennis world. One of them wondered, "A team with both Tezuka and Atobe would be the ultimate team, wouldn't it?"
That question marked the beginning of what was to follow.
What would it be like to mix their players together? What would constitute the strongest team?
They very quickly reached a decision.
"We should have an interschool tournament."
And so, they set out to ask sixteen bright players to lead what they believe would be the strongest team.
-----
One of the players Sumire asked was none other than her granddaughter Sakuno. When Sakuno heard the news, all she could do was stutter.
"M-me?" she asked disbelievingly. How in the world would she be able to lead a team? Especially when she wasn't that much of a player...
Sumire smiled kindly, patting Sakuno on the back.
"You can do it. Find four players who are willing to join your team. You have fifteen weeks to train."
-----
The first person Sakuno thought of was, of course, Ryoma. If Ryoma-kun would join her team, she was sure that somehow things would work out. Nodding to herself, Sakuno set off towards the Seigaku tennis courts to try to recruit Ryoma onto her team.
When she got to the tennis courts however, she was disappointed to discover that Ryoma-kun was nowhere in sight.
"Ano," she started, trying to catch the attention of one of the third years. Fuji was the one to turn around.
(sadly, I didn't plan for Fuji to join Sakuno's team. Her team was going to be Sengoku, Kentarou, Mizuki, and Kirihara after she failed with recruiting Ryoma. XD; I was having fun planning the other teams too...Satoumizu did a lot better with Team Yukimura in her doujinshi than I could ever write Team Sakuno though. XD; )
I really should have been writing for
blind_go instead of digging up old fic. I wonder if I'll be able to finish by the deadline. I also reread a lot of my old fic, like Those Left Behind and some fics I never crossposted here and thought, "Hey, the writing wasn't that bad!" I really want to finish the next 16 themes for Those Left Behind. Maybe during summertime when August rolls around again, haha, so that I can continue with August 16 since I ended on August 15. XD; How did I write the first 15 in 15 days?? :'D I continue to be amazed at my younger self.
