Motto Gakuensai Yagyuu path

Started playing this after I finished AAI. I have the PS2 version too, but I haven't even finished one path. I like my handheld games because I can play them before I go to bed. :3 This game is so much easier and shorter compared to actual dating simulations like La Corda d'Oro. I love that this is fully voiced! And they even speak the name you input...though always with the same tone. XD; But man, Tenipuri and its dating games...still makes me feel weird. |D

I played Yagyuu's path first. Fancy that.

I don't have any pics from my playthrough since I played on my DS. Pics below are from the gallery. :3

So, first time with Gakuensai. You have roughly a little over a week or so (I didn't keep track...) to prepare for the school festival with the team you choose. I chose Rikkai. The school festival was started by none other than Atobe. Rikkai splits into two groups. One group decides to do a sweets booth while the other group decides to do Smash de BINGO, which was suggested by Niou. Kirihara immediately wants to join the Smash de BINGO group, but when Sanada says he'll join too, he becomes less enthusiastic. XD;

Marui, Yagyuu, and Yanagi are part of the sweets group. I don't remember which group Jackal joined...poor guy barely had any parts, and you can't talk with him either. =/

First day, I met Sanada at the door and I called out to him normally. He seemed to like that fine...

I went right up to the Rikkai characters without checking their condition first, so I don't know if the first character you approach always has an event or what, but I approached Yagyuu and we ended up carrying boxes together.

After that, I always checked various characters and all the locations before talking with anyone. XD; I found various things hidden around the place, spotted Dan spying on us quite a few times, spotted a letter someone dropped (which Dabide used as part of his pun)...

I played 4 out of 6 minigames, I think. I sucked at them completely, but I managed to get a few of the cute keychains of the characters. I have a Hiyoshi one!! *____*

Approaching the characters when nothing is happening and your intimacy level isn't high...leads to very boring conversations that usually end with "I'm in a hurry. Talk to you some other time." ):

For the competitive show, Yagyuu joined Atobe's Hamlet, so that's the one I got pics for in my gallery. I think Mizuki's was the funniest because Sanada just had to join after Kirihara.

Picking special topics upped the intimacy level/heart meter a lot, though if you pick a wrong topic, you get penalized. XD; Yagyuu doesn't even play a large role in Hamlet, but we talked about that and mused over who the "main character" was played by. Since the main character's a girl, that meant one of the guys had to crossdress. XDD I already knew who though. ♥ After this talk, we exchanged phone numbers. (Even though I also exchanged phone numbers with a lot of other people. Oops?)

I also talked with him about things like homework (he answered something about getting help when you need it), books (all about mysteries, and then my character lent him one), dreams, friendship, love, and tennis. Talking about games gets you penalized. XD;;

I was amused that every time I talked about something, Yagyuu would end up talking about Niou. It was like...I chose the topic "love." And then Yagyuu would say, "There was this one time when Niou-kun..." I was wondering what that had to do with love until he got to the part where someone confessed to Niou...but actually got Niou and Yagyuu mixed up because it was Yagyuu as Niou who the girl confessed to...oh wait, was this conversation brought up under the tennis topic? Well, I don't remember. XD; But Yagyuu mentions Niou when I choose the friendship topic, the tennis topic, the love topic...

There was also an annoying event where Yagyuu went off to help another girl with her booth. I wonder if this happens for other character's paths too? The girl kept in contact, apologized, and such. He always seems to be busy helping others with this and that, so one time he was supposed to go with my character to buy macha or something, but he ended up being busy and my character went by herself. And then it had to rain of course, so Yagyuu came with an umbrella. Just one.



There was also an event with Niou where he left me in the storage room but was super apologetic when he realized that. That was...cute. Niou greeted me a lot whenever I entered some place he was at. I didn't even approach him! 0____0;; He also cornered me after school and asked me if I wanted to go home together. I answered no (the game was kind of hinting that I would probably meet someone else on the way home). And right after, Yagyuu came and asked me if I wanted to go home together. I bet this isn't a Niou-Yagyuu thing (but rather that the second most intimate guy will always try to stump you) but I was pretty amused.



Kirihara's events had a lot to do with sleeping. XD; Yanagi persuaded me not to wake Kirihara up since he's supposed to learn to wake up on his own, but before Kirihara woke up, Sanada came and shouted at him. *wince* In the end, my character gave him...ear alarms...? Alarms to put in his ear that would wake him up. Aren't those just like normal alarm clocks...?

Yanagi was practicing his calligraphy and said he learned from Genichirou. :3 There was another scene where Dan asked Yanagi for pointers about data. That was cute~

If you have a high enough heart meter, the guy asks you out for a date. I was disappointed that he was wearing his school uniform...I know there must be another scene with their normal civilian clothes. Yagyuu and my character went out to watch a mystery movie and then to visit a bookshop to buy used mystery books. He lamented that one time he bought a mystery novel and someone had written in the book who the culprit was. ):

Some other day, Yagyuu calls my character over and claims that someone stole the manju. We called Marui, Kirihara, and Niou over to get their testimonies. He asked me to solve the mystery and point out who the culprit was. I chose Niou. :'D Because he strangely knew the exact time he was supposedly there, but that didn't end up being the reason. But I guess I chose right because Niou handed Yagyuu a note asking him if he enjoyed himself with the mystery and that the manju were in the refrigerator.

For the sweets shop, my character and the others practice making all the food. Marui ends up sampling everything. XD;

For Smash de BINGO, everyone brings in something from home as the prizes. Niou brings a dart board, my character some food and some homemade dolls, Kirihara a game someone gave him, Sanada...I don't know what Sanada brought.

I managed to get Yagyuu's heart meter full before the festival by pestering him a lot, haha.

Before the festival, everyone celebrated at the pool. XD;

You yell out the name of the guy you're intimate with, and he wins the contest.

The festival itself went by fairly quickly. Whoever you're intimate with ends up winning everything apparently. I went around the festival with Yagyuu, but he declined going into a lot of the places. ): I guess there aren't any CG for them, like the haunted house, Hyoutei's shop...

I don't remember where this is from. XD;

But anyway, the festival ends with Tezuka's "Yudan sezu ni ikou" and a dance, but you don't dance with the guy. Both of you get called out. Yagyuu confesses and all that, talking about how he wants to be with you all the time even after the festival ends.


This pic kind of scares me. XD;


After the end credits, Yagyuu and my character went out for golf again, and my character apparently got a lot better at it thanks to her dad. Yagyuu is sad (maybe because he doesn't get to teach her, haha). I wonder if I got all of his pics...

I think I'll play one of the other schools next. I love the interaction between the characters. XD; Playing Rikkai again might be a little repetitive though! But I want to see Yukimura...I read that he becomes available after you clear the game with one Rikkai character.

The game sounds fun (and very amusing) XD I don't think I'll stop laughing if I went after Sanada. Anyway, even if I had the game I'd be too afraid to play it orz. -shot-

By the way, sorry for being random but do you know who the 2m+ guy and megane are? They're new characters from the U-17 camp but I'm too lazy to look through the chapters just to look for their name. ^^; Thanks~

Too afraid to play? XD; From what I've seen of Sanada from Yagyuu's path...I know I'll be very amused whatever he does.

I like La Corda d'Oro, a dating game that was a dating game from the start. XD; But it's weird with Tenipuri...because it's a shounen series! I think Gakuensai is a pretty fun idea, but I would like it even better if we could use one of the existing characters...like having Ryoma run everything or something. XD; It doesn't have to be a dating game! It's cool to have all the rival schools together after all. :3 But I guess that's harder to make because not everyone would want to play as Ryoma, and it'd be even harder to give us more choices.

I think orechibisama translated some of the high school profiles. There were profiles included in PairPuri. :3

It is! Ryoma is crossdressing as the main female lead in the play Hamlet. :3 I want to play Ryoma's path to hear what he has to say about that, hehe.

I haven't played Fuji's path yet, but I heard his ending is really romantic. XD; I'll put up pics if I get any of him!

Mm, this game would be hard to play without knowing enough Japanese, but it is fully voiced, so that helps!

Fuji's path just reinforces for me the very unhealthy obsession he has with Yuuta.

Shishido and Ohtori's paths are hilarious as they just talk about each other constantly. ZOMG I'M BREAKING SILVER PAIR UP!

Ahahaha, I started playing with Hyoutei for a bit yesterday (haven't gotten close to anyone yet) but when I spoke with Shishido, he always goes off to find Choutarou, or Choutarou cuts in the conversation. Man. XD

What scared me the most is that he looks pretty well dressed like that!

Oh right, that was his name in the play! XD I've seen the pic before, but this was the first time I've seen him with that wig in my own playthrough. He looks surprisingly good in that role...'

I could hear their crazy laughs whenever I look at that pic of them. XD; Crazy Atobe and Sanada.

That Yagyuu pic scares me. They're all alone in the dark, away from the festival, and then this pic comes!! :'D

The PS2 version has better images! They're not cut in half like the DS one. XD; But this one has Shiraishi, Kintarou, and Chitose. :3

Oh gosh, I would be too embarrassed to do that. You don't have to yell his name through the mic. The character just does that on her own, and everyone goes, "What was that!?"

Aw, Kin-chan sounds so cute! I haven't been able to play much more since this post, but I tried with Hyoutei and Hiyoshi...and he's so cold right now. Ignoring me entirely!

Je, Gakuensai is a fun game =D! i don't understand a lot because my japanese is more bad than my english but, is fun to play and hear the Seiyuus voice =D

I played Nioh path first, and after i play Yagyu Path, both are good friends! when you play Nioh, you can see a part with Yagyu helping Nioh with romantics topics or something like that (Because Nioh is very shy topics and he don't know how to confess to you). Yagyu is very polite but is a romantic guy <3

I think you got all Yagyu's Cg's, i have the same you post. And Yes Yukimura are available after you finish one Rikkai character, hi's path is strange but cute in the end!

Gakuensai is a fun game! So silly and amusing. And even just hearing the seiyuu's voices is fun. I take a long time while I play because I check everything out. :'D

Sounds like it'll be totally worth it to play Niou's path if I want to see more of Yagyuu. Yagyuu talked about Niou so much in his path too. Yagyuu never uses the girl's first name! I guess other characters actually do??

I will eventually have to play through all of Rikkai's. :3 They all sound so fun.

Yeah you can learn more of Yagyu (and the friendship with Nioh) in Nioh path! I don't think you need to clear all of the others (just 1?) for Yukimura to become available. I still haven't tried for a second character from Rikkai though! Did you manage to get Yukimura's route in the end?
