I finally bought PairPuri vol 1 over Thanksgiving break, and now PairPuri vol 2 is out already! But of course my bookstore doesn't have it yet. This Kinokuniya is so slow. =/ PairPuri vol 1 is also ridiculously thin. I didn't think it was all that thin when I saw the scans for it, but having it in my hands is different. I'll still be buying all of them since I can't resist Tenipuri data books. (Also, Shin Tenipuri ch20. Loving Inui and Yanagi's data SO HARD.)
I'm still hoping Houkago no Oujisama will get printed into volumes because I want those missing chapters. ):
...I totally failed in my translation goals last month. ):
I've yet to do a holiday card post this year. I think I'll have to go digital considering it's late already!
-----
Holiday wishlist! (These instructions have grown longer since last time!)
Step One:
- Make an LJ post, either public or locked (although public give people who aren't on your flist a chance to give you presents :D). The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. These wishes can be anything, from simple and fandom-related (a fic written about your favorite pairing), to medium (a DVD you want), to really extravagant (a brand new car). Just make sure these are wishes for things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things, like a DVD or CD, make sure you include some sort of contact information in your post. It can be your address or your email address, as long as Santa (or one of his elves) can somehow get in touch with you. ;)
- Make sure you post a version of these guidelines in your LJ, because it's important that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two:
- Skim through your friend's list (or the brand new friends of friend's list, or random journals) to see who has posted their list. Now is the most important part: if you find a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so. Make that person's wish come true! Sometimes your trash is another person's treasure! If you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - or you even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - give it to someone who wants it!
Step Three:
- Post this in your LJ any time after November 1st, then repost it two weeks before Christmas (a.k.a. December 11th)
Step Four:
- You don't need to spend money on these wishes to make them come true. Only spend money if you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf. It's to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not, it's all up to you. :)
- There are no rules for this project, nor are there any guarantees or strings attached. Just wish! Your wish might come true! And give if you can. You'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday a special one. :)
The Wishlist~:
♥ fishbones related things. The only reason my fishbone collection is this large is thanks to everyone who's thought of me whenever they saw fishbones around them. :) Actual things like keychains or virtual things like icons are all very much adored.
♥ paid LJ time. My paid account is expiring this month. I don't know if LJ is doing the giving more thing this year where you get more for buying other people LJ extras, but if LJ does do that, I hope someone will like to trade LJ time with me. |D
♥ for more people to join
twistserve_tcg. Running this Tenipuri TCG has taken over my life. I'd really like to see more people join. Um, our fast pace over there might be a bit intimidating, but everyone can play at their own paces! And we're all very welcoming!
♥ for some translators to join me in translating fanbooks over at
fanbook. One of my ambitions is to translate fanbooks and make information in them easily accessible. So far, it's mostly been a single person endeavor (looks like it won't be a one person endeavor anymore!), but I made a community to invite more people to join me in the endeavor and to make translations centralized. Maybe I haven't been going about it the right way. XD; (ALSO, for PairPuri especially, we'd like some cleaners to help with the scanlating portion.)
♥ Yu Yu Hakusho on Blu-ray. It is ridiculously expensive. There are three box sets that cover the entire series, and each one is 42,000 yen or more. But I only have bad quality VHS versions of YYH. I really miss the series. Kurama is still my favorite character of all times. [I'm not actually asking people to get this because it's much too expensive. :3 But one day, I hope I'll be able to get these for myself, or that the price will come down!]
♥ fanwork for any of the following. (fanfic, fanart, icons, whatever!) 1/2 Prince, Kimi to Boku, Mekakushi no Kuni, Yoroshiku Master, Double Arts, Bokurano, Dear Boys, Fire Emblem 6 (especially Chad, Lugh, and Ray), Overdrive (Kurosuke~), Dennou Coil, Zig Zag, Shion no Ou, Detective Academy Q, Kaichou wa Maid-sama, Uninhabited Planet Survive, Mintna Bokura, Charming Junkie, Saiunkoku Monogatari (I love Tan-tan), Karakuri Odette, Busou Renkin (I really adore Gouta). The list is very similar to last years with only a few changes. :3
♥ recs for the following. Any genderbending series (manga or anime) I've missed. Long, plotty KuroxFai fic (Tsubasa). KlavierxPhoenix fanwork (Ace Attorney). Long, plotty Yu Yu Hakusho fanfic. Crossover fic! Viral or Rossiu fanwork (TTGL).
♥ to get to know people on my flist better. Even online, I can't seem to get close to people. If you could tell me one thing about you that you'd like to share, that would be a start. :) Like, what you're doing now, or what you're looking forward to. Anything! And if you want to ask me something, that's fine too.
♥ snail mail from my flist! :)
♥ more bookshelf space. I really need to reorganize my room. I managed to fit all my manga from my Japan trip on my shelves, but now they're full. I have no more room for new manga. =/
I'm still hoping Houkago no Oujisama will get printed into volumes because I want those missing chapters. ):

Date: 2009-12-07 03:47 am (UTC)Snail mail, I can grant! Address?
As for knowing me better... Hm. I'm the middle of three siblings, and the running joke is that this family has the same number of boys and girls -- people have always kidded me about being half-and-half. I'm very athletic (but my being overweight is deceptive! XD) and tend to have more fun hanging out with guys than with girls. Sometimes I feel like the eldest because my sister can be so irresponsible (she and I are 14 months apart), but I also tend to act like the youngest (I'm five years older than my brother), throwing tantrums and other stuff stereotypical of youngest siblings.

Date: 2009-12-07 04:07 am (UTC)I'll PM you my address. :)
You've talked a lot about your sister recently, so I know you're not an only child, but I didn't know you also have a brother. XD; You must be athletic and agile! You've said that you dive in tennis and all. If I did that...I would have a hard time getting up. Being more or less skinny does not mean I'm fit. D:
I'm the younger of two. I have an older brother, and he's the one who got me into anime and video games. XD; I'm now his anime supplier, haha.

Date: 2009-12-07 04:29 am (UTC):D!
Yeah, I don't talk about him much unless I'm having one of my emo depressed states during which I whine and mope about how the entire world is against me. XD
I really DO dive in tennis. I'm not kidding when I say I chase after anything that bounces -- either I chase it or I just look longingly after it if I can't touch it (like window displays, for example). Does that make me a cat ^^;?
My brother... *le sigh* Nearly all of the games he plays, I introduced them to him, but I can never beat him at any of them. 'Cept Ace Attorney, I finish it faster than he does. Can't wait for the Edgeworth game!!

Date: 2009-12-07 05:06 am (UTC)I think your translations are more or less correct, but you might need some editing for grammar. If you'd like, I can help you edit before you post translations. :3 Have you used writely.com before? We can share documents that way! My email for that is lucathia[at]gmail.com.
By the way, I also speak Chinese. :)

Uninhabited Planet Survive has taken over my heart! ♥♥♥♥♥ Ah, old anime is still better than new anime nowadays. And I couldn't understand the hate of so-called anime for kids. I mean, yes, it doesn't have sexy or moe female characters or hot bishounen characters but the storyline is so good! XD Is it that's the reason why we watch anime? Because of the storyline? Not because of the characters or certain fetishs? *sigh* I don't watch a lot of anime nowadays just because my parents will think that anime has too many sexy characters... orz
Busou Renkin... I'm really sad to know that a scanlation group drops this manga. :( I first read it at a local manga magazine (yes, just like those in Japan) and then I stopped buying the magazine because the sudden ridiculous price raise and I couldn't afford it anymore. And then, I've been looking for the scanlations and then it got dropped. :( I don't know where to find it anymore, I really wanna read it and wants to know what happened next. If it got licensed... I couldn't buy it even though the translation is good... :3
no subject
Date: 2009-12-07 08:25 am (UTC)I loved Uninhabited Planet Survive a lot! I hope to rewatch it sometime. I adored everyone's transformations and how they adapted to living on that planet. It was also very refreshing compared to a lot of other series. It's also a series I can wholeheartedly recommend to everyone regardless of age. :)
I hope you'll be able to read the end of Busou Renkin one day! I found it very touching. <3 It is licensed in the US, so that's probably why scanlations stopped. (...but someone has actually scanned the official English published version if you're really desperate!)

Date: 2009-12-07 11:36 pm (UTC)I would love to do some fanwork for Bokurano one day, but I'm all booked out until at least january because of that adventcalender project. If I ever get around to finishing anything related to bokurano I'll let you know, though!
One thing about me that I'd like to share? Only if you tell me something in return =)
Let's see. I used to be arachnophobic so I went to therapy because of that for a few months last year. That was a weird experience. Now, I can't say I've completely lost my fear of those disgusting little things, but I deal a lot better.
no subject
Date: 2009-12-08 03:24 am (UTC)If you ever do any Bokurano fanwork, please point me to it. |D There's way too little Bokurano fanwork around. Best of luck with your advent calendar!
I dislike spiders a lot, but I'm not deathly afraid of them. They do scare me sometimes when they suddenly appear out of nowhere. You would totally hate my house because I seem to get a lot of spiders. They used to be daddy long legs (they're big spiders but they're relatively harmless and have super thin legs and small bodies) but now I've been getting fat, furry spiders. *shivers* It's time to do some thorough cleaning. >___>
Um, let's see, other than my dislike about spiders, I also have very sensitive skin. In elementary school, when I came back from a trip overseas, I had mosquito bites all over my face (and they were very swollen). My teacher thought I had chicken pox and was infective, haha. |D Another time, I had identical swollen bumps on both of my wrists...my doctor thought that maybe a spider had crawled over them. D:

Date: 2009-12-08 04:10 am (UTC)XD I would love to help with translating! I wouldn't mind small projects here and there that will balance out my "bigger" ones (blogs and doujinshis). Besides, knowing more about them will be interesting. ^_^
I really fail with fanwork in general so I won't promise that. XD
I have questions from you already from that one meme and... I'll have snail mail out after finals! ^_^
*hugs*
I definitely need more bookshelf space too because OMG I went crazy at book sales in the libraries around here. XD
no subject
Date: 2009-12-08 05:27 am (UTC)Coolness~! I'll give you posting access too. |D Just let me know what you'd like to translate...all the Inui and Kaidou related pages, I'm assuming? XDD One day, I'll get up table of contents for all of them...I finished the 10.5 one, but I haven't done the other ones yet.
Yay, I look forward to your snail mail and your answers to the questions! I fail at interesting questions. XD;;
Library book sales are awesome! I need to start getting together a classroom library of sorts (but maybe I need a classroom first, haha) so I'm now on the look out for children books. :3 I love buying books for myself too, though my bookshelves are predominantly filled with manga. XDDD

Date: 2009-12-10 08:32 am (UTC)XD;; I'll try to make some time to actually do something that isn't uni work to write or draw some fanfic/fanart.
Right now, I'm at uni at half-eight in the morning - I've been here for an hour to try and be prepared for my looming exams. =/ Not interesting. Uh... I'm really looking forward to when my exams are over and done with so I can take that thing called a break. :D And not waking up too early. I'm also looking forward to the fact that I'll actually be able to relax over Christmas because of the shifting of start times at uni means that my exams are before christmas instead of after.
About me... I'm an only child and I've spent my entire life in Scotland, barring holidays. :)

Date: 2009-12-10 09:19 am (UTC)I'm looking forward to doing fandom stuff over break too. <3
Ahaha, you already answered here a question I was going to ask you for the 5 question meme. XDD Aw, hope you'll be able to get through your exams with no problems and relax afterward. And sleep in for once. :) Having your exams before Christmas rather than after is nice! I used to have finals in January after winter break. That really sucked. Wasn't fun at all because I still had to worry about school over break.
Have you ever wanted to go somewhere else before? :3 I've lived my whole life in CA and have only traveled to other countries for a short time for fun. I cannot imagine myself as an only child! Can you image yourself with a sibling? :3

Date: 2009-12-14 01:33 am (UTC)H'okay because it's Christmas, it's confession time (yes, I did just recently watch Love Actually): I don't actually know your name/have anything to call you. It's usually just Lucathia.... which I think is right, but I just wanted to make sure 8D;;; (Also, Loo-sa or Loo-ka? Hm.)
UM. FUN FACT ABOUT ME: I AM TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY PROCRASTINATING STUDYING FOR MY PHYSIOLOGY EXAM TOMORROW. And I should really, REALLY go back to it.
PS: I LOVE your fishbones collection. Like, +4. Seriously.

Date: 2009-12-14 01:41 am (UTC)I go by Lucathia everywhere around the net. It's Loo-ka (short "a" like in cat). The name came from the SNES game Lufia, which I changed to Luthia....and then I added a ca in there for cat.
Hang in there with your exams!!! You can do it. I'm done for the semester, so now I'm enjoying all my free time. I think I finished a lot faster than most people since I didn't have exams. Just ongoing projects.
Thanks you~ :D My fishbone collection is growing all the time thanks to everyone.
