Friday

Friday, I met up with yoshikochan and saw whitelilacs now and then. I also met jen_kat officially! (who I've actually seen around gem2niki's journal and LJ communities~). Somehow, I ended up helping out with the swap meet. XD I really want to sell some of my junk next year too. I say this every year, but I'll probably run out of time to organize everything when next year comes around.

There was also a huge blank white wall. I tried finding a pic of Tadase and Nadeshiko to photoshop into this, but it was almost impossible. So...this was the best I could come up with. XDD

Saturday

Finding dyaoka in line for the masquerade was quite life-saving (well, not nearly so dramatic, but it was nice seeing her again ♥). I thought the masquerade was pretty good this year. Many of the skits were put together well and had impressive props. The first Tsubasa one had changing backgrounds and everything, but the skit was probably hard to understand for those who haven't seen or read the series. The Fire Emblem group had really cool wings! The Black Butler group had awesome moves and choreography. The Pokemon duo were just hilarious and made me want to listen to the English theme song again. I loved that there was a Zero no Tsukaima group. I was impressed that there were barely any skits from overdone series like Final Fantasy or Naruto. There was of course a Bleach skit, but the Renji and Byakuya had such cool bankai. I really liked the One Piece cooking skit. They juggled so well! I need to find video clips of these...

Sunday

I wanted to watch the AMV contest, but I ended up going to dinner instead after the Fire Emblem gathering. Any good AMVs this year? I usually enjoy watching the contest. The Momoi concert at the end of the day was all right...I really had no idea who she was. She got the audience pretty hyped up (most were standing up in front) and everyone had glow sticks. Her voice is too high pitched for me though. A mom behind me started chatting with me about how she enjoyed last year's An Cafe so much and how she dressed up as Genma and her daughters as Ranma and Ryouga etc etc etc. I think she left halfway.

Monday

Monday, I just shopped. I barely bought anything this year since I didn't find any merchandise of series I liked. I bought two postcard books of some obscure series...Ask Dr. Rin and Legend of Basara (sooo old!), the cutest edamame keychain ever, and a nemu nemu t-shirt.


When I got there, it was just in time for the TWEWY gathering. Neku versus Sho!

Everyone on their cellphones. I'm surprised there wasn't a single Joshua at the gathering.

I can't believe I didn't take a single picture of Phoenix Wright cosplayers!! Anyway, overall, I enjoyed Fanime quite a lot. It was relaxing. I just chatted and caught up with people most of the time.

What are your plans? =O As long as you can get a ticket, JR pass, and find a place to stay, that's pretty much all the major planning you need, right?

I don't know where people usually get their JR passes. ): But like jen_kat said, plane ticket, JR pass, and hotel is pretty much all we need. So if you have plans for that...then we're all set...

Well, finding the right prices hasn't been set. How good is your japanese? Someone said that we might be able to request to combine 2 rooms at Sunshine Prince but only done in Japanese XD

I'd like to go to Osaka. I think...maybe a one day thing? @___@ I can't imagine changing hotels. But, I think, my godmother will want to meet me, so she might want to play tour guide one day?

...I've nearly forgotten all my Japanese. I haven't used it at all except to read manga, which is quite different from speaking it. I can ask my godmother how I should go about asking to have two rooms together? X3;; If we're sure we're going, I'll tell her to expect me one day...don't want to get her hopes up too soon. XD;;

Cosplaying school uniforms again is nice. So much more comfortable than Soren's outfit. XD; I was planning for AX all the time during Fanime, thinking about what I wanted to finish. XD

I was surprised too. I'm used to being able to waltz in last minute and still grab a seat.

Fanime has gotten huge compared to before! Aw, college. ): Huh, my two universities are both semester system, so I've always finished right before Fanime. Guess that's pretty convenient.

I'm going to chop off my hair soon though. ): I think I've done Soren enough. I'll be making new cosplays for AX.

Flying back for the convention must be a pain. I don't see how some people manage it, since I know some who came to Fanime still have finals to go back to. 0___0;;

Elraine's battle outfit (I've bought the cloth already~) and maybe Prince from 1/2 Prince. I might just end up making his pet (a meatbun!) and leave it at that. Both are more...obscure series.

I believe the Jumpsuit Tsuna is actually Jumpsuit Spanner. XD (why do I know this? I don't even read KHR anymore. XD)

And Ramen and Rice are other cosplayers. I dunno who the Blackjack is (though I know they were from T-94), but the pink Miku is fanartist. =D

I was hearing them from afar in the artist alley and wasn't entirely sure who they were. They were really cool though. <3 Nice bgm for the AA~. I also saw a girl outside in the fountain area playing the violin. She had red hair and was wearing a black jacket. I thought she might have been cosplaying Kahoko from La Corda d'Oro, but I wasn't sure about it. Talented music players...

I do remember seeing a Kahoko (I was thinking Hino in my head) going through AA with a violin. =D But that one I saw had no jacket, just the school uniform.

I think of her as Kaho in my head for some reason. :3 I think of all the other characters with their last names. I would so cosplay La Corda d'Oro, except I have no musical talent or any of the instruments. :'D

I have a clarinet that I haven't touched in since 5th grade, and a violin that I've just started learning how to bow (from yoshikochan). XD

... the last time I looked inside my clarinet case, the clarinet had spiderwebs... *closed case very quickly* I should clean it out VERY THOROUGHLY someday. ^^;

Clarinet!! Violin!! :D Sometimes I wish my parents were the type to force me to learn an instrument. I doubt it would have helped though, since I'm quite tune deaf.

...that's scary. You should clean it before more baby spiders get born and make a home inside your clarinet case. D:

Piano too? I was watching some of my colleagues at the piano today. Makes me want to play. I've only ever managed one song (a Rurouni Kenshin bgm) but it was mostly through memorization.

You were actually in the background in one of the Fire Emblem pictures. I wish everyone at the gathering had funner poses...we were kind of just standing there for a long time. ): Still, it was nice to have such a large group for once.

Fanime looks so fun. The Tales gathering pictures were Epic! The had so many characters from different tales series present. Actually, all the cosplay groups looked really well-done. I would be snapping photos like crazy XD Glad to hear you had fun

The Ramen and Rice vaguely looked like a vocaloid spinoff, I could be wrong.

It was lots of fun. ♥ The Tales gathering was pretty epic! So many Tales characters! And lots from the new games that I didn't know so well. :3 I started Tales of Hearts but I'm still only at level 2...

I'm not sure who the violin player is dressed as (that one does look vaguely like vocaloid) but the other girl is dressed up as Black Jack. :3
