Things in the real universe don't all fit together like the pieces of a child's puzzle. The couples are happily pairing off now that the curse is broken, but she's still very much alone, even more so than ever. Now, she no longer has the boar residing within her to lend her strength.
Oh, she can still pack a mean punch, despite how she always blamed the boar for her violent tendencies, but inside she's not so strong. Momiji's similar singleness gives her no reassurance. His gaze tells her that he has loved and lost, but she hasn't ever truly loved.
