It wasn't even all that big a deal... I think part of it was accumulated stress and the other part of it was having my rose tinted glasses shattered a bit... and the last part was probably my body telling me, hey, you're about to fall ill, take a break.
But yeah! It was really heart-warming receiving reviews (really detailed ones!), and they made me all nostalgic. Sometimes, I feel like it hasn't been nine years at all since I wrote the fic. I don't know where the time has gone. I don't really have much to show for those nine years...
Haha, your memory is really good! Yup, it was about the Earth Knight. (I mean, you haven't even read the actual canon, so I'd say your memory for a fic you don't know the canon of is really, really good). One Last Memory and The Time In-Between were written during a time where my writing was much more serious, I feel! Most of my writing around that period had around the same tone, probably because of what I was reading. What I read tends to bleed over to my writing a lot. :3; I do sometimes write fics of that tone even now, but they seem to be outnumbered by fics with a dab of humor. (The canons I'm writing have a lot to do with it too!)
Hehe, hope you have fun catching up with all the updates! I've been reading quite a lot on ffnet lately, since I haven't visited for some time and there were a lot of new fics in the categories I'm interested in. I'm mostly caught up now, I think. (Darn!)
That's definitely what I think you're interested in about the series you follow! :) Prince of Tennis, La Corda d'Oro, Kuroko no Basket, Full Metal Alchemist... They all have those elements. :)
I really enjoy character exploration and friendship too~. Family is really high on my interests, so I wonder why I don't write more of that. XD; I really should.
