Why don't you take lessons on Chinese? ^ ^ Wow, I didn't know things were like that over there... English IS very important, but not knowing your own mother tongue is a little sad /: Oh, wow o.o Thats interesting! Are there lots of Spanish and Vietnamese living at your area?
We pretty much learn English from kindergarten. Or as young as possible? Nursery? I think I was taught the alphabet in nursery... When I was in kindergarten I was already taught all 3 languages~ And that went on all the way ^^ I think the same goes for Singaporeans since kindergarten, but they only learn two languages and emphasize on English. Kindergarten starts from 3-6 years old ( I think ), its dependant on the parents to decide which age they want their kids to start learning. Mostly people send their children to kindergarten at 4 years old. Primary school is 7-12 years old, secondary school is 13 onwards. In Singapore secondary school only goes for 4-5 years depending on what stream you are in, which there are four kinds - Special, Express, Normal Academic and Normal Technical, then you move on to polytechnic or junior college. In Malaysia secondary school is 13-17 years old and then you move on to work, or Form 6 , or foundation or college or anything. In my opinion both countries are complicated in some way after you leave secondary school... There are so many paths to go to.
Oh sure, it sounds nice, I might just start one in future then ^-^
