You're a pro! I wish that I was able to write a bit for some different fandoms... but I end up sitting on one subject and exploring that. //left-brained//
I haven't gotten to the halfway point yet, but because it doesn't have what everything else had, it's probably going to end up much shorter. And I don't like to have a character who gets less time when everyone else has more. The program I use doesn't have a word count on it so I just go by file sizes when I'm comparing.
Okay, yay! ^___^ Originally, the story was just going to be a few chapters for each person of their everyday life - what they do, spar practices, social interaction, etc. so that you can be like "Aww cool! Niou's an archer!" or something. But then I spaced everything out and thought it needed some kind of over-arching plotline to get everyone together. As I came up for chapters in-between the events, it made the most sense to use the canon plotline :)
It was amusing to see when my readers started to pick up on it and then ask if I was paralleling something. And then when it was quite clear, then it was "Are you going to follow it completely?" "Is Rikkai going to lose? NOOOO!!!" etc. XDDD
