All of my oneshots have been written for my prompt table so I have an ending goal in mind. They're the most creatively free compared to the multi-chapter ones.
I'm one of those people who definitely works so much better knowing the final destination and then logically sequencing how they're going to get there. I spend a lot of time brainstorming events that could happen and determining what will be appropriate for hitting major plot points. I do a lot of thinking about setting, relationship development, if I'm going to tie something together or create a question....Act out scenes in my head so I can see if the characterization is right. So. much. thinking. It's my bedtime ritual - knocks me out pretty quickly too!
Writing muses are so helpful! Especially when they shower you in symbolism and witticism!
I'm a bit of an overly detailed person so that's how I get up to such a high word count. Since I tend to do the majority of my stuff handwritten first (hooray substitute teaching and planning hours) and then type them, I end up adding tons of detail in the transition process to give it balance.
Lots to cover currently because he's a bit of an enigma to everyone else (well, they haven't met him yet), but certainly to Yagyuu. The focus will shift when he joins though because there's the whole Yanagi's past and Sanada's past to get into. Niou also has a very interesting character background (to me) and my Platinum Pair support helps me with ideas!! :D
I LOVE reading things out of order! It was only a matter of time before I gave into the temptation. It's more of the "I need to know what happens so I can go back and see what was used to lead to that point". Like Harry Potter... I NEEDED TO KNOW WHO DIED because of all the suspenseful hype XD
That is an ingenious idea for the body switch to write in first person! *applauds* I wish you the best of luck in reaching your goal - you can do it! *cheers you on* I will proclaim to the world of LJ when I actually get Ch. 14 done... yes, the one i started on July 26th and is writer's block like no other.
Ps - Seen my FE! Atobe and Oshitari post? Thought you'd enjoy it! :)
