I used to like the cool, polite, smart, aloof, and mysterious characters (think Sohma Yuki) when I was a lot younger, but in recent years, my favorites have mostly been hotheaded or clumsy characters who easily make a fool of themselves. They're usually the foil for the perfect main lead, and they're most often not the focus of the story, which is too bad.

My point is, the main male lead of my NaNo so far is exactly the type of character that I used to like (levelheaded, polite, and standoffish) but don't like as much anymore, and his rival I designed is the type of character I didn't used to like but now love a lot. He was the last character I designed out of everyone since I'd run out of ideas by his turn, but now I find that I might like writing him more than anyone else.

So yeah, this is basically me having fun playing around with my own characters. XD; There is still no plot in sight. It looks like I will be switching POVs a lot.

Ahhh, I can't seem to make up for the five days I missed at the beginning of the month! But writing this part was pretty fun.
