Finished watching Macross Frontier yesterday in my attempt to get to know May'n's songs before her concert at AX. I guess I'm now prepared. XD; I liked the first half of the series better...I guess I'm still not into mecha fights after all, which were featured more heavily in the second half. I've never watched any of Macross before, so some references probably flew right over me. :'D
Alto was ridiculously pretty (especially that one scene of him in the first episode that Ranka keeps thinking about), but since his voice was done by Abe's seiyuu (Abe from Oofuri), I couldn't take him seriously because I kept thinking of Abe. Not that I would've taken him all that seriously even without Abe's hindrance, since Alto's poses made me giggle.
