This was...different. In a good way, mind you, but...wow. I don't think I've seen anyone approach one of the parents like this before. Kanji's dad is a curious case. I like that he's laid back, like his son. I can really tell that he's Kanji's father. And something about the coffee being stale strikes me as really...powerful.
And looks like I was beaten to the punch, yeah, the Dung Beetle is Mr. Sasami. :D
--and whoops, edit to comment, this Write or Die thing sounds hysterical, though the Electric Shock Mode frightens me. XD
