*gets bowled over*
NaNoWriMo
NaNoWriMo starts in less than 7 hours for me! Except, I have very little clue what I'm writing yet. I entertained thoughts of continuing my NaNo from last year and also thoughts of restarting with the same characters, but perhaps what I need is a complete fresh start.... ahhhh, I don't know yet. I've tossed so many ideas around. What I would like to write is an epic story where a lot of things happen in 50k. I wrote 50k last year, but nothing much happened in those 50k except for sightseeing, seriously, and the story did not have a lot of direction. Or well, it did, but the way I inched towards it made it feel like an afterthought. *muses some more* Ahhh, yes, I need more conflict in the story, even if not a lot happens.
I'll be doing a lot of planning today and tomorrow, but first I need to finish up all my fandom responsibilities first! I still have a lot of stuff to translate and proofread, TCG stuff to do, fanfics I should have finished by now but still haven't... Oh, I also need to go TCG trick-or-treating for
colors_tcg. |D;;
You can find me over here for NaNo. Writing buddies are so motivating! Pretty much my biggest motivator with finishing last year. ;) I posted my writing as I went along last year, but I don't know yet if I want to do that again this year. *muses about this too*
Writing Communities
no_true_pair - Whoa, October ended! I only posted 3 fics, all the Legend of Sun Knight fics. I should've finished Lessons in Demeanor by now (but I haven't). I'll be posting it in its entirety over there at the community when I'm done. There are tons of other prompts I planned to do but haven't gotten around to. I definitely want to write one of the Oresama Teacher prompts though... so I'll still be poking away at fics for this community.
yuletide - I've been checking yuletide like crazy, but nominations haven't opened yet. I can't wait until they do though! Yuletide is an annual fic exchange for obscure fandoms. I haven't decided what to nominate yet... there are series that I want to write for that I wonder if I should nominate in hopes that that might spur some people to request those series. Then there are series that I might want to request other people to write for me since I don't think I'll be playing in those fandoms myself... my hopes is that other people will nominate both stuff I want to write and stuff I want to request, but what should I use my own nominations on to be safe, hm... :3
norsekink - I haven't written anything for this comm, but I sure want to. *bookmarks some of the prompts* Except I have a very bad grasp on Marvel stuff outside of the movies, and an even worse grasp on Norse mythology. |D My mind has been completely eaten by Loki this past week though, and gods, since he's one of the main characters, there is so. much. fic about him. It is both delightful and very dangerous. It is scary how obsessed I am with Loki at the moment.

The Legend of Sun Knight, volume 8, the last volume!!! (Grisia looks so serious on the cover!), is being released on 11/8! It's not available for preorder, or else it'd already be in my shopping cart, ahhhh. Must remember to buy this when 11/8 rolls around. The conclusionnnnn! I cannot wait. Yu Wo also posted the second-to-last teaser for volume 8, and it is quite a read.

I do have a question though.... it says you must start a new novel. What happens if I want to aim to get my PoT/FE done (which should be over 50,000 words if I get it done)? Do you think that would be allowed? I'm currently two chapters away from the end of Part 2.
If not, I'll be lurking to cheer you on!
One of these days, I WILL get to Legend of the Sun Knight. Which will be after fanfiction demands die down some. It all sounds so exciting!

I hope you participate with your fic! :D
I would love it whenever you get around to Legend of Sun Knight. (I'm always happy when I manage to pull other people into new series!)
My fanfic demands are crowding my mind so much that it's so hard to turn to original writing. XD;

So Part 3 and Part 4 of PoT/FE by the end of November? Dear Kami no Ko, this is going to be insane! Cheer me on as well?
When I do get to Legend of the SK, you will be the first to know! And I shall talk about it extensively with you in an excited for some witty light-heared humor kind of way! I think the only series I've tried roping people into are FMA and Utapuri lol.
*wishes you good luck again*

I saw that you've been brainstorming about Hetalia. Good luck with that fic too!
Eee, Part 3 and Part 4 by the end of November. You can do it! You've plotted so much already (you're certainly in a better position than me, haha). \o/ Let the insanity begin! Have you ever tried Write or Die? I didn't use it much last year, but I might this year. Only after I figure out what story I'm sticking with though...
There are too few fans of Legend of Sun Knight around, so I will be beyond ecstatic to be able to flail over it even more than I already do now. I've been wanting to watch Utapuri (though I ended up marathoning Death Note). I think Utapuri will be next. :3

Somewhere down the page, it says "Do I have to start my novel from scratch on Nov 1st?". Suddenly I feel as if I'm violating rules... even though Part 3 is the start of... well... a new part. The part where they actually go fight.
My name on the site is just AbsoluteHYMN007. I went back and had to re-add you strangely enough. Well, we're 26 minutes into Nov. 1 and I have to go to bed lol.
Thank you for the luck! I hope my gift receiver likes it as well because it immediately went from a long one-shot into a two or three parter. *me and plots and character development/interaction*
I have never tried Write or Die. Never heard of it actually. Will check it out tomorrow.
In the anime world, I finally got around to Sei-ichi Hatsukoi and am reminded of Junjou Romantica in every way possible. And that makes me happy. Once I'm all caught up, I might re-watch Junjou 'cause that light-hearted humor w/ romance (although sometimes a bit unrealistic situations) makes me smile.
Flail Legend of Sun Knight away! I love reading about it through your entries :)

I guess it now depends on if you consider your Part 3 enough of a new and fresh start that won't make yourself miserable. :3 I would consider it in the spirit of NaNo, but it might be stretching the official definition on the site a bit...
I've been trying to click on your name, but I keep being brought back to the main page! Guess I'll try later. (I know I'm totally going to be distracting myself in November with checking writing buddies' word counts!)
Oh! So your Hetalia fic is a gift? :D Lucky gift receiver!
Write or Die is a neat program that warns you when you've stopped writing, so it's good for people like me who keeps wandering away from writing. Word Wars are also great fun (when you connect with another writer and compete to have higher word counts during that time frame).
Oh, that's another I've been wanting to watch. I don't know what the story is about, but I'm curious because of Junjou (as I have watched some of that).
Two hours before November hits for me! But I won't be able to write right away since I need to sleep early today. :3

50,000 words in one month is really daunting too, but I did it once. Maybe I can do it again. |D;; \o/
KuwaNeko
(Anonymous) 2011-11-01 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)NaNoWriMo sounds like quite the hell, and quite the fun at the same time; the longest thing i've written... if lucky, only got to 10k, and it took me... months; I'd probably die if I tried it right now. Perhaps some day in the future, when I'm out of classes and with a bit more time to myself.... ah what ever
50k is quite the ordeal; good luck
----
so volume 8 is the last one..... wow (don't know if to laugh or cry.... so exciting, I still have to go through another 5 volumes, and there will probably be more than a few short stories and such, but it's still kind of sad).
oh, Grisia indeed looks serious, like he's considering something really hard, and dare I say, a bit... crestfallen... too.
Good luck, again. I'll wait for the continuation of Lessons in Demeanor, and Bittersweet Sweetness, but you take your time (think I'll also take a look on the NaNo thing too, sound interesting).
ps. haha, in the end I couldn't help myself and I ended baking the chocolate cookies, they were sweeter than I remembered them, but still on the bitter end, since they're made with bitter chocolate; lol, certainly bittersweet; if you like, I could pass you the recipe
Re: KuwaNeko
Yup, volume 8 is the last one... I'm sad about that, but I'm also excited to see how things will end. There'll still be side stories, so I look forward to those! I think we were promised two volumes of side stories? *_____*
I'll still be poking at those two LSK fics whenever my NaNo original story gives me too much trouble. :3 Hopefully I can make some progress with them~ (not very likely though...).
Ooo, chocolate cookies. :D Hehe, bittersweet ones! I'd love to know the recipe! I don't bake very often though. :3

I've finally decided what to write. I've only written 300 words so far though! Still so much more to go for today.

Haha, yeah, only a day in and I've already fallen behind. Go write, self, write.
