a few Yuletide recs

I've been reading as many Yuletide fics as possible, but I've only reached L in the alphabet... (I started alphabetically, though I did skip around for fandoms I looked forward to a lot). This is probably all I'll get around to reading before reveals. ): Time to return to writing!

I adored the following stories a ton. <3

story of a boy (2015 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: Sket Dance
Rating: General Audiences
Warning: Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Characters: Fujisaki Yusuke, Tsubaki Sasuke, Onizuka Himeko, Usui Kazuyoshi, Katou Kiri, Agata Saaya
Summary: A few things Bossun could have done with Tsubaki when he turned into a kid.

Sket Dance fic! About Tsubaki! *flails* I requested this but didn't receive Sket Dance. I am so happy someone else did, and about the same character I requested too, so hey, I benefited too. XD; This is a super adorable fic. Spot on characterization.

Prince Charming Gets Married (4262 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom - Christopher Healy
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warning: Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Ella/Liam, Frederic/Gustav
Characters: Ella (The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom), Prince Frederic (The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom), Prince Gustav (The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom), Princess Lila (The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom)
Summary: Gustav is stuck comforting a devastated Frederic after Ella marries Liam. Meanwhile, Lila helps her new sister discover the hidden delights of life in the castle.

I read The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom because of [livejournal.com profile] abluestocking's Yuletide letter. The book did not disappoint, and I entertained thoughts of writing a story for the fandom (but that didn't happen). I am super ecstatic that someone else did write a story though, and I love it a ton. It is brilliantly amusing and has the feel of the original book. :) I hope more fic take off for this fandom! \o\

swift waters, parted (2764 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: Chihayafuru
Rating: General Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Mashima Taichi, Ayase Chihaya, Wataya Arata

I am so happy Chihayafuru got requested and offered! This fic is really beautiful and poetic. I nearly teared up by the end. I love the way the poems were incorporated. <3

Would You Like Some Lightning With Your Soup? (7440 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: Circle of Magic - Tamora Pierce
Rating: General Audiences
Warning: Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Characters: Daja Kisubo, Trisana Chandler, Briar Moss, Sandrilene fa Toren
Summary: Dinner at 6 Cheeseman Street is a rather unpredictable affair.

I can't say I remember Circle of Magic all that well, but this fic was heartwarming and made me remember what I loved about the series. I loved the family dynamic in this fic and just how close these four are with each other. It was great seeing all of them in the same place again, about to embark in the next stage of their lives.

The Balance of Affection (6060 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: Enchanted Forest Chronicles - Patricia Wrede
Rating: General Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Cimorene/Mendanbar
Characters: Cimorene (Enchanted Forest), Mendanbar (Enchanted Forest), Willin (Enchanted Forest), Daystar (Enchanted Forest)
Summary: The King and Queen of the Enchanted Forest haven't shared a bed in more than a decade. Not that it's any of your business, really.

A really awesome continuation of the books. I was reminded of how much I liked the books, and I enjoyed seeing Daystar getting to know his father. Also, hilarious ongoing joke about Cimorene and Mendanbar's "tenuous" relationship. ;)

Out of the Ashes (5237 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: Final Fantasy VI
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Locke Cole, Edgar Roni Figaro
Summary: Locke helps create Gerad, but for his part, he has a bit of a complicated relationship with hope.

Reading FFVI fic really makes me want to play the game. Like, right now (I never did, just watched my brother play it). I find the World of Ruin fascinating with how all the characters have been separated and have to find their way back to each other while the world around them has turned into something completely unfamiliar. Locke and Edgar build themselves an intriguing life here. I really liked their dynamic in this fic.

In The Nuclear Season (14575 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: Final Fantasy VI
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Terra Branford/Locke Cole
Characters: Terra Branford, Locke Cole, Katarin (Final Fantasy VI), Duane (Final Fantasy VI), OC - Character
Summary: Terra in an uncharted world.

This FFVI fic is also set during World of Ruin, giving Terra some room to grow because initially, she's on her own away from her friends. Terra's character growth in this fic is fabulous, and the world-building is awesome. <3

The Same View of the Ocean (6563 words) by Anonymous
Fandom: Kuroko no Basuke | Kuroko's Basketball
Rating: General Audiences
Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Himuro Tatsuya, Kagami Taiga
Summary: Himuro invites Kagami to go to Los Angeles with him for one weekend. Kagami agrees, hoping that he'll have a chance to talk to Himuro about their tenuous relationship.

All the feels for this fic! It made me feel nostalgic, and I wonder if the author is a Los Angeles or California native. Really great detail of the area.

Okay... super random but your icon of "restless" at the bottom is so super duper cute! I think that is Storm? Don't think that I have ever seen that icon before on your page ;)
