back from AX!

I got back yesterday, went through my email, tried to reply to some stuff (but that didn't work), and then I crashed like a log. I didn't even feel all that tired!

Anyway, I met lots of people at AX (though it was all mostly just passing by and chatting for a brief second ;___; ). I felt a lot more relaxed this year at AX. That might have something to do with staying at a beautiful bed and breakfast. I didn't have to worry about breakfast, and I had a super comfy bed. I didn't go to any panels or the mini events, but I did go to five ticketed main events. Crazy, huh? I'll post about my thoughts about the main events in the next post. I got all my tickets last minute. It was awesome. No line or anything! I had to leave my camera in the bag check and with my friend for the concerts. That was a bit annoying, since I missed a lot of cosplay I wanted to take pictures of while I was walking to the Nokia theater. The bag check was a bit stupid. They close at 11 and the main events ended AFTER that...that just doesn't quite work.

Junk I bought!

I didn't buy much until the last day. I went on a shopping spree on the last day. But my brother wanted to leave early, so I didn't actually get to finish browsing the exhibit hall. I didn't even look at any of the artist alley on the last day.

To the bottom left (the bag and the fans) are the free stuff that was given to us. To the bottom are the bookmarks and postcard that I bought from the Artist Alley (half of that is from dumbimps!). I bought a large La Corda d'Oro game poster since it was pretty cheap. The Corda visual book and the guide were not as cheap though, but I've been eying them for a while. To the right are Reborn posters! I love the narrow posters. They were really easy to carry around in their small box. I just wanted the one of Dino (I have a love for senpai-type characters~) but Hibari came with Dino. That was alright too. Hibird is cute. <3 The middle top are Phoenix Wright figures. They were all random...so my brother and my sister-in-law decided to each get one to test our luck. We bought five in all...and ended up with two Godots and three Mayas. ;___; The 1-up mushroom was pretty much an impulse buy. I finally got myself a pair of cat ears (which my 1-up mushroom is wearing in the photo) since they were half the price of the cat ears I bought for my sister-in-law two years ago. To the top right corner is my super expensive L nendoroid! I finally bought one! L was more expensive than Light. ): On top of the nendoroid box is the cute Gaia online kitty that you can wear on your head. I wore it on my visor all day on Saturday when I was cosplaying Eureka.

I'm going to go through posts I missed now and reply to card trades and such. Is there anything I missed you think I should know about? :3

I know!!! ;____; I missed you and someone else. I think whitelilacs was on her way to the Code Geass R2 meet you set up when I ran into her on Friday. I should have followed her!

I feel bad that I didn't know any of the characters there. ^ ^;; My excuse for not seeing the Phoenix Wright figures is because I didn't look at the box properly. ;p

How many of the Phoenix Wright figures can you get altogether?

Probably! XD Now that I finally have L, I can take some pics with all of his different expressions. XD I don't have the Light, Ryuk, or Misa figures, so I couldn't make icons of their different expressions. Want to suggest some text for me to use? XD

I can never find stuff of series I really, really like. (Might be a good thing...or else I'd have gone broke!) You can get Phoenix, Mia, Godot, Maya, Edgeworth, and Franziska, so six in all. I believe I got a different version of Godot, so maybe the figures even have variations. There are so many different ones, and yet we got repeats. ;__;

How many expressions did you get with him?

Um, um, um... *flails* '(I am) the (world's) greatest detective'? 'Sweet tooth' 'panda eyes' 'addicted to sugar/sweets'. XD;; I don't have a good imagination.

L comes with three extra swappable expressions (so with the one he already has on him, that's four!), one extra body, an extra arm with a cellphone, and a chair. I find it funny that he's so swappable. If only I had an extra set of hair, I could even build two L's!

The Phoenix Wright figures were $7 each. ): I'm just glad I got them from the $7 place and not the $10 place that I saw later. ^^; Though maybe they had a better selection...

Even if I bought more of those random figures, I doubt I'd get the rest of them. ): I'm fine with what I got though. I just wanted Maya. XDD But it would have been nice to get Edgeworth too.

Wish I coulda gone to AX, too :( I've never been to the LA Convention center, and from your entry, it sounds like it's better equipped to deal with a con of this size. Long Beach ugh. Maybe next year.

Yup, I finally caved and bought one. XDD I could only find the reindeer versions elsewhere. I wanted the normal one. XDD

I wish you could have gone too. ): This year's AX was surprisingly smooth. Everything that I went to started on time.

The LA convention center was huge. 0____0;; Everything was spread out because of the size, but at least we didn't have to exit outside for anything (except for the Nokia theater). No dying in the heat and getting sunburned like last year at Long Beach. Even the ticket line had it's own space indoors. Getting our badges was super fast too. I had a hard time finding where everything was at first, but otherwise I do think it was better equipped to fit everyone. The Nokia theater where all the main events were at was gorgeous too! Blue lights and everything. *____*

I'm glad to hear AX didn't have any delays, since that was the bane of last year. Didn't they make Skinz wait 2 hours? When you make the band wait, that's just wrong.

I hear Nokia is supposed to be amazing. It's brand new and everything *_* But I think the biggest failure of Long Beach was that the sheer square feet of the center itself just made it very bad to deal with since people were really scrunched and there was nowhere to wait. The beachfront community was nice, though :)

Uh, yeah, the waiting was terrible last year. This year, both concerts started right on time. The Nokia theater had plenty of entrances, so we flooded into the theater really quickly even with bag checks going on. The metal detector felt really over the top though. ^^

Oh, I didn't know that the Nokia is new! *___* It really is pretty amazing. It even has escalators to the second floor. I've never seen theaters with escalators before.

I hated having to go outside after exiting the exhibit hall at Long Beach, but there were lots of pretty places for photos there. We took photos by the lagoon area. :)

He has such a huge head. XD He's actually pretty heavy! Did you see any Misa ones around? I only saw L, Light, and Ryuk ones. Ooo, if you buy all of them, that'll look pretty impressive.

I took lots of pics at the Fire Emblem gathering. I was late though, so I missed a lot of the other cosplayers. I'll have my pics up soon. :D

Yeah, we should have exchanged cell phone numbers. ;__; I was actually in the Artist Alley for hours on Saturday. I was sitting behind gem2niki's table though and didn't walk around the AA much. Her table was right across from the exhibit hall exit. Maybe I would have seen you if I walked around AA more? D: You were in Shinpachi cosplay when I saw you on Friday. :3

I wanted to post yesterday but I fell asleep. -____-;; I slept around the same. =P Fell asleep around 3 AM, woke up at 12 PM.

Nendoroids are so cute! I wish they made ones of my favorite characters. I'll make do with L for now. I think the Light one actually looks cuter though, but I'm not a big Light fan.

I only took photos of cosplay that stood out, or of people I knew. I was laughing the entire time I showed them to my parents. XD

The Gaia Online kitty is so ridiculously cute too. I wore it on my visor all day on Saturday. My visor kept slipping because the kitty made my visor too heavy in front. I even got some free Gaia gold...but I don't remember my Gaia Online password. ^^;;

Haha, I'm on Gaia, I'm everywhere. XD I spent a lot of time on Gaia when I first signed up and got some gold through events and stuff to get a somewhat decently dressed avatar.

I like how some people "cosplay" their avatars to look like anime characters XD that must take so much time to get all the gaia gold though o.o

I'm pretty surprised myself too. XDD I've never gone to so many events at AX. The lines are usually terrible, but this year they were fine~. Uh, yeah, the main night events (like AMV, AX idol, and Masquerade) happened right around dinner time for me. I had late dinners everyday. ):

The concerts were from 1 to around 2 and the other main events were from 8 to around 11. They do end pretty late. X3;;

Yeah! Before that it was just at the Anaheim Convention Center for the longest time I think. And yep, we commuted every time. Luckily the gas prices weren't as crazy back then.
