Heh, I checked my post about last year's Fanime, and I said I was bored out of my mind last year! Mostly because I didn't have any new cosplays or gatherings to go to. I was much less bored this year since I did have a new cosplay.

Day 1: Friday

All week before Fanime, I worked furiously on my cosplay. I finally managed to buy cloth the weekend before Fanime started, giving me less than a week to make my cosplay, while working. XD; In the end, I wasn't able to make boot covers or a scarf, but I think the outfit turned out okay. I just used a random scarf I had, and normal boots. I don't actually have enough cloth for boot covers...

Anyway, Fanime started, and I was actually still working on my cosplay. I came home from work, continued working on my cosplay, and then headed over to the convention center to pick up my badge right before the Artist Alley closed.

Got to see

gem2niki's table, browsed Artist Alley for around half an hour, and then browsed Swap Meet after that. I like the Swap Meet location a lot better this year... since we can just walk in! Last year, I couldn't even get in to Swap Meet because of the super long line. The South Hall is dusty though... but hopefully it wasn't too bad for the sellers. I only bought one thing from the Swap Meet, a guidebook for the animanga Whistle. Saw

Artist Alley hours.

A very cool Solid Snake. This was on the way to Swap Meet.

Here's the Swap Meet location. We weren't allowed to wheel our luggage in (g2n's prints from Artist Alley that we hadn't dropped off in the car yet) because they were afraid we would be people bringing more stuff in to sell at the Swap Meet. ): So g2n's sister had to stay outside. D:

I was really surprised by how many people there were on Friday!

After I went home, I continued working on my cosplay. XD;;;

Day 2: Saturday

Woke up with a sore throat. D: I had one last Fanime too. Ugh, work + conventions is not a good combination. So, I had a sore throat (later, stuffy nose) throughout the convention.

Anyway, I donned my Yoon cosplay and headed to the convention. The moment I got there, someone asked me if I was cosplaying Yoon from Akatsuki no Yona. So happy~~~. He told me about the unofficial meet-up/gathering that was going to happen at 2 on Sunday. I told him I knew about it. :D I started passing on word after that too.

Saturday was my shopping day this time around. XD; I browsed AA on Friday, so Saturday, I began buying stuff that had caught my eye.

While I was chatting with my brother, I saw a Zeno cosplayer ahhhhhhh. I chased after her. XDDD

The first Akatsuki no Yona cosplayer I saw wasn't Yona or Hak but Zeno! Ahhhhhh, Zenooooooo. (And so began my goal of taking pictures with all of the Akatsuki no Yona cosplayers hahaha)

Zeno in the Artist Alley~~~. I forgot to tell her about the gathering, but luckily I saw her again later, or rather she saw me and took a pic with me, but she said she probably couldn't make it. ):

Legend of Zelda. I don't know if it was this group, or maybe a different group, that had a Navi with a "Hey, listen!" sign. XD; (I can't help but hear Navi's voice)

I met a Hak in the Artist Alley too~~~. I was on the phone and had to hang up to chase after Hak. XD; ("Sorry, got to go now. There's someone cosplaying the same series as me!") We chatted for a long time about Akatsuki no Yona, ahhhhhhhh. This makes me super happy. (He's snowmisao)

Of course we had to take a picture together too. (Lol at that person that's asleep in the front... It's only Day 2!)

Around this time, my brother was leaving, so I was waiting outside with him. I saw a cosplayer who looked surprisingly like Dark Sun zooming across the sidewalk. I totally doubted my eyes, because, Dark Sun???? I didn't think anyone would cosplay Dark Sun here??? No Hero doesn't even have a manhua adaption! I stared after this mysterious cosplayer, their red shirt, jeans, visor, white hair... My goodness, they looked a lot like Dark Sun! Could there be some other character with a similar design? Maybe Devil May Cry?? But I wasn't wearing my glasses, so I could only squint after them, and by the time I thought that maybe it really was Dark Sun and I wasn't hallucinating, they were already gone and it was too late to chase after them. =x Because, it would be one thing to walk up to someone and say, "Are you cosplaying Dark Sun?" while they're leisurely walking by, but if they're already super far away, chasing after them and shouting, "Are you cosplaying Dark Sun???!" would totally be strange. XD I could only console myself in hopes that I'll see this mysterious cosplayer again~~. (Story to be continued, lol!)

I headed back to AA after seeing my brother off. Here's a cool Fire Emblem Awakening group! It kind of makes me miss cosplaying Henry. XDDD

After shopping for a bit, g2n had to leave to go back to her table, so I was once again wandering around by myself.

Saw a Miyuki cosplayer. :D Little did I know at the time, I would be seeing a ton of Daiya cosplayers over the weekend. XDDD

Jae-ha!!!! Ahhhh, a Jae-ha! It was very much an, "Ah!" moment. I was shopping, turned around, and Jae-ha was right there! (6 Akayona cosplayers so far~~~)

After AA closed, g2n and I headed over to the Back-on concert. It already began by the time we got there, so no lines or waiting for us. XD; We still got pretty good seats. The music was lovely, and it was great that the place was pretty packed! They took pics with us after the concert. The concert was so short, only around an hour!

After the concert ended, the girl sitting next to us asked me for a pic. XD; (Yoon at the concert~~). Haha, she'd seen me walk in but couldn't stop me in the middle of a concert. XD

g2n and I had pizza for dinner. :3;; I ate an entire half a pizza. 0____0;;

While I was eating, I checked my phone and saw an LJ message that 15b had left, saying she had missed me in the Artist Alley.

What???

15b is at Fanime!!!??

What????

Gasps! That means, 15b must have been that Dark Sun I saw? I hadn't been hallucinating? AAAaaahhhhhhh.

I regretted not chasing after that Dark Sun! It would have been quite a meeting. XDDD;;

(Though I wonder if 15b would have recognized me as Yoon if I weren't at g2n's table?)

(But, ahaha, I didn't help out in the AA at all on Sat XD;;; Only for like 5 minutes)

Day 3: Sunday

Took some pics at home before going to the convention~. I can't open my eyes in sunlight. XDDD

Outdoors works well for Yoon, actually! XDDD Without a fence would be even better.

I finally helped

gem2niki out in the Artist Alley. XDD She had a Japanese friend who she'd met on Twitter visiting. I helped sell until 2 PM, when I then headed off to the Akatsuki no Yona meet-up.

So, I was at the table selling and taking pics of people who wandered by for a few hours.

Chris-sempai has amazing hair and eyebrows ahhhh.

I sold a lot of prints for g2n. :D Maybe cosplay is good advertisement?

When I left the AA, I saw Chris-sempai, this time with even more Daiya cosplayers. Ahhh! A Harucchi! Ahhhhhh!

I also saw

revenus and her sister again! I was in the middle of panicking, thinking I had lost my badge. I couldn't get back in the AA without it, so I frantically called g2n for help. :3;; It was getting close to 2, so I had to run, but I couldn't find my badge, ahhhhh. (It turned out I had put it in my other bag. OTL) I also saw the Hak from Saturday, but he was wearing a different cosplay and had to go change into Hak. (Cutting it so close!)

When I headed back inside the Artist Alley, it was at that time that Dark Sun paid me a visit!

Dark Sun! a;lkdjfla;sdjfasfd 15b!!!! I'm super happy to meet in person, ahhhhhhhhh, and the cosplay turned out so cool! Unfortunately, I needed to head off to the meet-up, so I couldn't detain her longer, darn. (SADNESS. And that's the abrupt end to that story XDDDDD)

This Hak was left here to direct all the Akatsuki no Yona cosplayers outside. XDDD Very effective with that long weapon! I came here, and people started taking pics of us??? Then, I headed outside where a bunch of Akayona cosplayers were already gathered.

Most of us! There are also a few more Akayona cosplayers who came later. Yay, Soo-won! I hadn't seen Soo-won before this. But sadness... Zeno didn't come, and there was no Kija! But there's another Yoon. :D

I asked some of them if they wouldn't mind doing the scene from the opening with me. Some of them didn't know what I was talking about. XDD There's this part in the opening song where the characters are walking across the desert. At first, it's only Hak and Yona. Then, Yoon joins them. After a few more episodes, Kija is added. Then Shin-ah, then Jae-ha, and finally Zeno. I thought it really cool that the opening changed like that! So yeah, we tried to do the opening, but we had no Kija or Zeno. XD;; And there were a lot of people in the background anyway...

Still, it turned out pretty cool!

g2n left to return to the Artist Alley. I continued taking pics and chatting with people.

And that's it with the meet-up! I chatted with two of the Haks and one of the Yonas for a very long time. It turns out that we're all local. :D

During the meet-up, there was a Libra close by. Ahhhhh, Libra!!! ;_____; klajdla;;djfasdf He was all, "No one cosplays Libra, right?" You sir, are very right. I was super happy to see a Libra cosplayer.

I parted ways with Hak, Hak, and Yona to buy lunch. XD; But I got super sidetracked on my way there because I by chance came across an Ace of Diamond gathering in the park. ladjkf;as;dflaj;fda; There were so many of them there!

Like the Akayona meet-up, this was unofficial too, but what a nice turnout. I love that one of them even brought a tire!

But hopefully some of them turned out nice. :D We had Yoon and Yona walking through the park, sitting by the tree, peeking through bushes... XD Hope to see the photos soon~~~

After that, I finally bought myself lunch. It was already around 5. I checked my schedule and realized that the Cosplay Spectacular had already started. What!!! I thought it would be at 7... So I missed most of the show. XD;; After I finished eating my super late lunch, I went to watch the show.

There was a proposal on stage later among the karate group that performed wearing Fate cosplay. :3;; Really sweet. I didn't stay to see who won.

It took me a long time before I finally managed to make my way back to the Artist Alley. My "lunch buying" took me forever, lol! AA was about to close by this time.

Day 4: Monday

Last day, I cosplayed Bossun (once again). XD; Simple and comfy~

Since g2n's friend Hako was at an American convention for the first time, I took her around the convention center to show her the various places. Here was the gaming room. She was surprised that cosplayers could wear their cosplay on the streets and on transportation, since you can't do that in Japan (where you're supposed to change into your cosplay at the convention center). I showed her the Fairmont, which she said was super pretty, and it was kind of strange to see cosplayers in such a pretty place. XD; We checked out the panel rooms, but there weren't any interesting panels happening, and most rooms were empty. The only long line we saw was for the butler cafe. XD;;; There were a lot of girls waiting there.

After showing Hako around, I went back to AA to help g2n sell stuff. Here's a fireman Makoto and a scientist Rei~~. Hako wanted to take pictures with all the Iwatobi cosplayers she could find. XD

Euphonium" LOLOLOL that I need to watch (even if it doesn't turn out to be very good… concert band anime is a rarity). The art of the instruments is so detailed though - approval!!

I also think it's funny that the Daiya gathering was unofficial and David ended up running it. :D There wasn't a gathering for that series at ACen so it's really cool to see such a large group! The tire!! I really like the picture of the pitchers and catchers. The one where you said (Lol, their expressions XD) - the one on the left would make a fabulous Tanaka from Haikyuu!! David wore that outfit for the all sports gathering at ACen :) Ice cream cart - best photobomb.

Firefighter Makoto and Scientist Rei! Fun fun - the only other FUTURE FISH at the Free! gathering at ACen was a Scientist Rei and we become friends. I'll see her at Youmacon in October (David is driving me there!)

I have a new camera this year. :D The zoom is great, and it takes pretty good photos without any adjustments. Perfect for a photography novice like me, lol. Before this, I was using my phone camera, or g2n's camera.

OOoo, I hope to hear what you think of Akatsuki no Yona! Hibike is pretty cool. I heard that people with band experience can particularly relate to it. The art and animation are gorgeous. and the sound is great too.
