AAI!

Finished playing Edgeworth's game today. :D Heh, I finished the game around the same date as when the game takes place (minus the year). This game drops a lot of references to previous games. I think I would like this game less if I weren't already an AA fan...I wonder what newcomers to the series make of this game.

Edgeworth
Edgeworth makes the game so logical. All I had to do was go over his words again if I were ever stuck. The only time he was unhelpful was with Lauren's testimony. He was misleading there!! I very much enjoyed having him as the lead (his cool composure makes his reactions and any loss of composure all the more fun, and man, he has great lines). I kind of want to finish the game in Japanese too just so I can snicker over how he speaks there...he speaks kind of like Yagyuu from Tenipuri. I can totally see why Calisto was laughing her head off at his speech, and even though they went for a similar effect in his speech with his hilarious vocabulary in the English localization, it feels a little different. XD;

So, Edgeworth ended the game with declaring that the power of the law is what those who use it make it out to be (or something along those lines). I wonder what his thoughts are on the Jurist system?

Kay Faraday
I like her. :3 I didn't think I'd like her when she was still being called "Key Girl", and I didn't like her shirt, haha. Because well, she seemed like an excuse for Edgeworth to have a female assistant. But I adored her interaction with Gumshoe (Gummy!) and her younger self is so adorable. The cravat scene and kicking Edgeworth in the knees are both priceless. XD; And the Swiss rolls. kdl;afkl;s Makes me want one. She surprisingly wasn't the "partner" for a good chunk of the game like I was expecting her to be. Oh, and yay for the stepladder reference. I think her response was pretty awesome. Why limit yourself to clunky ladders rope ladders for the win XD

I hope she succeeds in becoming someone who finds the truth (but like Edgeworth, I believe she secretly wants to be a ninja!!). When she said she wanted to find two other beauties around her age for her own Yatagarasu group, I immediately thought of Ema and Maya, haha.

I want to see her help Palaeno out like he mentioned in the end credits. I liked Ambassador Palaeno a lot. ^____^

I am a bit skeptical of her Little Thief gadget though. XDDD

Lang
It's weird thinking of him as Asian. I found his theme music annoying in the beginning, but it grew on me. XD; I think it helped that he was being helpful, and I was grinning when he accused Franziska in case 5 because I knew he was stalling for everyone. ♥

And when he changed from calling Edgeworth Mr. Prosecutor to Mr. Edgeworth? lkdf;asd SO CUTE.

The only reason I am even pleased that he's from Zheng Fa that is possibly Chinese-ish is because I will have no problems slipping Chinese influences into any fic I write with Lang. XDDDD Unlike the case with Klavier (because I don't know any German >__> )

Other characters
Larry as the Steel Samurai (Daddy?) has got to be one of the funniest things ever. Miles is offended. XDDDD But still, he could've kept the signature! and gave it to Maya or something

And to top that, Oldbag as the Pink Princess. Oh gosh. What lovely new additions to the Steel Samurai. XDDDD No Edgeworth game is complete without Oldbag, is it? XD

The Blue Badger family. I must have plushies of them! I've been wanting to make one of the Blue Badger foreeeever, and lol, now his family is huge. I only have blue fleece though, so only the Blue Badger, Proto Badger, and Bad Badger are feasible.

Caliso Yew. My first thought was that she looked really, really plain. I kind of thought she was some unimportant character! I loved how she laughed at Edgeworth though. XD; When she was finally cornered at the end of the fourth case...I really wanted to see her, I don't know, reveal herself in some dramatic fashion like what showy thieves do. Too bad she never does that. XD;

Rhoda was likable (but easily forgotten after the rest of the game). I kind of wanted to cosplay her if only to make one of her gaudy suitcases. XDD

Maggey's bad luck continues. Maggey, Larry, and Oldbag all have so many different jobs in such a short time span...plot device or what. XD

Ema's appearance was short. But refreshing compared to her AJ self!

I absolutely adore Ambassador Palaeno. I may be repeating myself here. He's kind of skittish, isn't he? And flaky. But he cares for his country! And he has a nice smile. XDDD

First thought with DeMasque II...man, that guy got killed for cosplay.

Game play
I didn't enjoy all the testimonies and rebuttals. They felt so tedious! The logic part was kind of cool (and it was funny when Kay and Gumshoe both made fun of it), but Edgeworth was completely stealing the spotlight of all the detectives. XD; What's with this detailed investigation scene when he's a prosecutor??? XDDD Granted, the investigation scenes are the main focus of the game...

The game jumps back and forth in the timeline (I didn't notice this at all during my first playthrough), and I completely thought the cases were random. But seeing how things fell together after the third case was very, very cool. I like how everything tied in together into one large case about the smuggling ring. Except, the whole thing wasn't all that personal, unlike the back story for the AA games. Still, it was cool learning so much more about Edgeworth, seeing how he changed between his early years and now, and such. (Gosh, he can go on and on about perfection and...he didn't even want to lose a staring contest!).

Haha, sometimes I wanted to examine things that were high up, but our little Edgeworth sprite can only examine things he can approach. XD;

Partners...?
I found it amusing that Edgeworth had so many different assistants (or partners). First Gumshoe, then Rhoda, Kay, and Franziska. All in the span of...how many days? XD; He sure is a busy person. And is he getting any sleep...? Everything's happening so late! Oh, but I bet he has jet lag still.

Case 5
LOL, EDGEWORTH, YOU JUST HAVE TO BE EVERYWHERE. I mean, he had to keep going between Babahl and Allebahst. How does he keep things straight?? XD;; I enjoyed all the stuff about smuggling between the two countries. The parallels were fascinating. And it was funny how he had different assistants partners waiting for him on each side.

Well, that got a little long. >__>

YAY! This game was so fun to play lol. BUT HOW DO YOU THINK THE BADGERS ARE CUTE?! They're so creepy...esp Proto Badger. D:

I was actually unimpressed with the Little Thief. It pales in comparison to the Magatama, just saying. You only get to use it like...3 times in the game. I expected it to play a much bigger role in the last case.

Actually I really liked how the last case wrapped up all the cases in some type of relation. Now to see a game where all the arcs are connected. Now THAT would be epic. (like connecting Dahlia, Gant, Matt, Kristoph, and Alba into one gigantic case. EPIC)

Lol Oldbag in anything is creepy actually. XD

Dude if we had technology like that now, the government would be all over it haha.

OMG...Alba started getting so annoying with all his stupid testimonies and "you have no decisive evidence" crap. Gaaahhhh I was like, "okay now it's over...or not." There were like 2438234 "Hold it" cuts towards the end lol. But at least it made you think. :)

It would be pretty scary. But the plus side would that you would also be able to utilize all 3 protagonist-teen girl sidekick teams and all 3 of their gadgets. (use the Little Thief to gather evidence, use the Magatama to use the evidence to get people to reveal the truth, and the bracelet in court). EPIC CASE OF EPICNESS RIGHT THERE.
