end of Bokurano
These pages make me tear up. So simple but powerful.
Waku's the very first one, looking straight ahead, separated from the others by a small gap. He didn't know anything about their situation and was so happy piloting Zearth. Kanji, Kana, and Machi are the ones who knew the most about what was going on. They're at the end. The space between Kanji and Kirie separates those three from the rest. The gap between Ushiro and the rest is the largest, but Machi, Kanji, and Kana turn around to invite him. And then he joins then.
The ending itself was quite anti-climatic but expected. My favorite chapters where the ones before these when Ushiro and Machi visited everyone's families. Those chapters felt like the wrap up for me. These last chapters have really shown how Ushiro has changed though, with how he fought for his companions who came before him and how he finally changed into the clothes Nakama made that he had been unwilling to wear before.
It did not even cross my mind that Dung Beetle would be the last pilot. (Even when I saw his name as the chapter title, I did not think we'd actually see how he looks like!) He's changed a lot too. I daresay this Earth's battle affected him even more than his own. I can't imagine how he would haven able to go through the battles a third time, but I guess this is it for him too. He was...quite frank with those newly contracted kids. They must be frightened out of their minds.
I think I'll give Kitoh Mohiro's other works a try too. Might try picking up Narutaru again.

It's like. Such a simple, stupid dream but then it just hits me that "HEY, THE BASTARD'S HUMAN TOO" and it's a little overwhelming.
God I love this series.

Machi's death was unexpected. Well, dying that way was unexpected. Goes to show how crazy people have gotten. I thought her death would mean that they're short of pilots, but Dung Beetle actually stepped in.
Hm, Mirai Nikki sounds interesting. Another series to check out. I've gone through so many series this past week.

I also started reading Sakai Mayu's works like Rockin' Heaven, Peter Pan Syndrome, Nagatachou Strawberry, Momo, and Nine Puzzle. Her art's clean and cute. It's strange that I haven't read her works before this.
After reading her stuff I started on some historical romances like Hadashi de Bara wo Fume, Ryo (this reminds me of Legend of Basara), and Hachimitsu no Hana. The last one is quite adorable. I can't believe how much shoujo I've been reading lately! I've been spending too much time reading shoujo this past week.
As for non shoujo, I'm now following Defense Devil and Kuroko no Basket. I wonder how long both of these series will be.
Nothing interesting's going on in my life lately. =P
