Poses are the worst! Last year I challenged myself to only draw poses that aren't straight forward, upright, standing pose (The Roland Death Monarch was an exception hehe). It's so difficult!!! Lolita is cute... I could NEVER draw that fashion. waaaayyy too much needed effort (but I'll admire it when I read Kuroshitsuji...). Yeah I almost always use references! I even downloaded 3D pose tool to my phone, but posing it is really difficult XD So it ended up being useless. Sometimes, it's difficult to find the pose reference I want on Google :/
(I don't have a fashion! I wear whatever I feel like wearing unless I'm at work, accompanying on piano, or at school... XD I'm a hoodie and yoga pants all the time person)

At least you are aware of how you work! I don't ever see myself actually completing this task. I, too, am a spontaneous drawer. Usually, when I attempt premeditated drawings, they never turn out DX
