Scientific studies of Tenipuri, Kill No More manhua

Oh man, I had such a good laugh over this series of "scientific" analyses of Shin Tenipuri. If you know any Japanese, I highly recommend this. XD; These videos analyze things like how Tezuka zone works, how fast you'd have to move to hit 8 balls at once, what Atobe's eyes must be like for him to use Atobe Kingdom, how much Tanishi needs to exercise to lose that much weight in that little time, the speed Kenya needs to use to walk across water, and such. Can't say I understood everything, but I couldn't stop laughing. XD There are videos of other series as well, like an analysis of Midorima's full court three pointer from Kuroko no Basket.

I received my books today! \o\ No Hero v8, Human Doll Contract, and Kill No More manhua v1, which also comes with a short story. All Yu Wo stuff. XD; Haven't touched the two novels yet, but I read the Kill No More manhua. I wonder if anyone will be scanlating this? I'm somewhat tempted... but have enough on my plate. The adaptation is so-so at the moment, but I'm always in favor of more Kill No More. ;)

Kill No More manhua v1

The printing of this manhua is fairly nice. There's even a plastic outer cover! Very extravagant for manhua. This also comes with a short story about Liaula as a baby. <333 Interviews with Yu Wo, A-Wei, and Xiao Tie (artist for the new edition) are included in the back of the novel.

I'm not familiar with the artist (A-Wei). I thought the cover art was by someone different (previous artist?), but since only A-Wei is credited, I guess A-Wei drew everything. I though the cover looked fairly different from the style used inside! But anyway, not sure what I think of the art yet. It's not "pretty," but it does suit all the fighting. I guess I'm just disappointed that Liaula doesn't look as pretty as he does on the novel covers. This style feels more traditionally Taiwanese to me, like the style used in wuxia manhua. More old school too. XD;; The colored insert is quite nice though!

A sample page~. The beginning is just as messy and random as I remember of the novels, hahaha. Kaiser is in his apartment when two random strangers from a different dimension appear in his room, fighting. Kaiser takes Liaula in, an assassin who swore never to kill again, while the other runs off on her own, and somehow they end up attending a school called Acalane, which has three departments, one for mecha pilots, one for mages, and one for knights. And as you can see from the pic above, there are also dragons involved. XD; Dragon knights. <333

I wonder if newcomers to Kill No More will understand the story from reading the manhua. Then again, the first two volumes of the novels weren't all that coherent either, hahaha. The story gets more interesting later on, once the pieces start coming together, with the three alliances all playing a part. There's a point to this madness. XD; The beginning though...

Liaula's story totally reminds me of Kenshin (not 1/2 Prince's Kenshin, Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin) with his promise of never killing again. Liaula's appearance, on the other hand, reminds me of Arctic Fox. XD; (Oh dear, perhaps there's a reason why I like Liaula so much...) I also find it amusing that Liaula takes on the secret identity "Silver Mask" fairly early on in the story... I'm so not imagining the similarities, right? It's the next best thing to having Arctic Fox as the main character, hahaha. Seriously... No wonder I like Kill No More. =P

Human Doll Contract

Yu Wo's attempt at horror. XD; This novel is quite strange in that it's truly Yu Wo indulging in writing whatever she wants. I daresay that the "author" in the story is a self-insert, hahaha, and several characters are from her other series. I haven't figured out how they fit in yet, since I've only read the snippets posted online. I think they're all ball-joined dolls... so doll versions of characters we know? By speaking their names three times, they're brought to life...

In any case, the references are amusing, and the story isn't about that author or those specific dolls, but rather a guy who can see the supernatural. He has troubles with his sisters nieces, who both happen to be dolls. At least, I think they're dolls. I'll need to read more to find out. XD; It was getting pretty creepy! The art for Human Doll Contract is what I'd call "pretty." I guess I like the bishified, otome style better. XD;;

Here are the sisters. :) The printing of Human Doll Contract is pretty nice, and I love the design of the cover and the inside pages. Just as pretty as the new edition of LSK! There will be two volumes to the "Human Doll Contract" story, and it sounds like there will be more in the series dealing with other cases, with each case being 1~2 volumes. So, a series of shorts?

No Hero v8

I also bought No Hero v8. V8 features A Ye's brother on the cover (so red!!!), and he's even holding a miniature A Ye. XD;;;; Whoever features on the cover is the one who starts off each chapter with a short scene, so whoot, we're getting lots of A Ye's dear brother, who is one frightening man. I'm a little scared to read his scenes. =P

Lolol I watched the Atobe analysis video and it was pretty awesome, even with me not understanding most of it. I like their comment at the end about how long Tezuka must have been sitting on that bench. I wondered that too!

Did you recognize the second piece of music they used in the Atobe video? I know I've heard it somewhere - I think it must be from a video game.

I think you're right! No wonder it struck me as Final Fantasy-ish but not quite Final Fantasy.
