If it wasn't part of the exchange and someone wrote a huge letter to me, I would definitely be intimidated! (and possibly weirded out too) But it's sort of like a tradition for this exchange. Not everyone does it, but I appreciate it myself when my recipient provides me something more to go off of so I know I don't end up writing something they wouldn't like.
