Kanji's father seems to care, but he's not emotional about it at all. He did say that Kanji resembled his mother, though I think Kanji resembled his dad in quite a few ways too, but his dad probably doesn't see it that way. By the way...Kanji's dad calls his son...Kanji? XD; I suppose it is his nickname even though it's the same as his surname...
