hm, I think I'll have time to play tomorrow? :D Are you usually online about this time?
I'm terrible at strategy and what not, I just kind of go with what "looks good" ^^; playing like this will get you to 15kyu anyway. But it's a lot of obsession to even advance two levels XD;
I had about 2 months of playing every day to get down to 21 kyu... but it was fun! But now I just float around 17 kyu ;.; I don't play anymore so I don't get any stronger. OTL
Awe, if it was DS then I could play it on my chip... but I don't think PS1 games are region free? And the go terms would be like... flying over the head. XD; My listening skills are decent though. ^.~ ... Okay not really but I can understand some things. XD;
I have no idea if the Hikago game taught go... I -think- it did but since I can't read Japanese... ^^; ... actually, I'm forgetting, before we play, you have to have played through this site at least twice:
level 30 kyu = minimal knowledge, good enough to play 9 x 9
level 27 kyu = capable of winning against other beginners XD; ......
level 25 kyu = will win against most if not all beginners, can play on full-sized board now
level 21 kyu = will wipe out beginners, but just be on the verge of understanding the actual game ^^;
level 20 kyu = finally understand how to win the game. ^^;;;;;;
level 17 kyu = able to 'read' the game, even more advanced games. Understanding of the game.
level 15 kyu = all these things + competent in the various phases of the game, beginning, middle, and end. (I think there's really 3 phases, and your play style/strategy has to change to each)
lower... a world beyond me. o.O
Anyone with a 'single digit' number, 9 kyu down to 1 kyu = absurdly strong amateur.
1 dan + = professional. XD; ...
I can read games but I can't win against competent people. ;.; I play defensively which is just asking to lose. OTL Of course, my confidence has been torn apart from playing a 4 kyu at my work...
no subject
