Ah yeah, that's true too. I got this feeling that later on... the Philosopher's Stone was pretty much everywhere too. And they weren't exactly looking for it anymore.
Haha, Ed's life was never in danger during that meeting in the lab, but I guess it did save him some fighting (and getting more beat up) with his arm disabled. Gosh, how many times did he break his arm throughout the series... might be a good thing he had automail.
